I was exhausted when I made it back home. Nicole wasn't back yet, so I assumed she was still at the club.
"Just made it home, had an amazing time!" I texted Nicole. I made my way upstairs and started a bath when my phone dinged.
"That's great. I'm on my way home now," she texted. "David is with me, we will try not to wake you :)" she responded.
"Trust me, I'm gonna sleep like the dead tonight. I'm worn out," I responded. I began to roll a joint when my phone rang. I felt giddy when I saw that it was Adrian.
"Well, hello sir, I miss you already," I said with sass into the receiver.
"And I miss you, my little sex kitten," he said softly.
"You're just in time...I was about to step into the bath," I said playfully.
"I do love my timing," he giggled.
"Wish you could join me, though," I said as I stepped into the bath.
"Perhaps on the next date. If I got my hands back on you tonight, we wouldn't stop until dawn.
I just wanted to hear your voice. Get some sleep,my kitten. We'll pick up where we left off tomorrow," he said sleepily.
"I am tired," I admitted with a yawn.
"Good night, Adrian," I said just before hanging up. I caught myself almost saying "I love you." Luckily I stopped myself. I didn't want to scare him off.
I cut my bath time short after getting off the phone with Adrian. I was just too exhausted to risk falling asleep in that humongous tub.
I could barely hold my eyes open, so I threw on my pajamas and climbed into bed. drifting into a deep, deep, sleep. I found myself running barefoot in familiar woods. There was a wolf running alongside me, but I wasn't running from the wolf, I was running with him. I spotted the shape of a deer in the distance. I ran further toward the shape until the image became more clear. It was a big buck, a male deer, with many points to his antlers. He didn't seem startled that I or the wolf were approaching. He blinked and sat still, accepting his fate. I lunged through the air and tackled the deer. Biting into his neck, my mouth filled with warm liquid that tasted of honey, but smelled of copper pennies. I realized what I had done. The beautiful creature was dead, at my hand. I began to cry and my face fell into the neck of the animal sobbing into his fur.
"I am so sorry, this is not who I am," I cried. I felt a stroke on my head and looked up to see Adrian looking back at me. He put his hand under my chin and wiped the blood from my face with his thumb.
"Shh, no need to weep, my pet," he whispered.
"I killed him. I'm a monster," I cried.
"We all believe ourselves to be monsters from time to time; you did not kill for satisfaction, you killed for food, like many hunters," he said as he took my hand and helped me up.
"Where's the wolf?" I said as my eyes searched the dark forest.
"He is here..." he whispered. I looked around once more, but I didn't see him.
"Are you afraid of the wolf? Do you believe he is a hunter, or a monster?" he asked.
"I'm not afraid of him, he made me feel safe."Adrian smiled down at me and pressed his lips gently onto mine.
"I will always keep you safe. Just remember that I am not a monster," he whispered. The words echoed in my ears and he was gone.
I woke up covered in sweat—that was one hell of a dream. I looked at the time on my phone. It wasalmost noon and I had to get up and get my car from the shop. My limbs felt so heavy when I stood up that I slumped my way to the bathroom and turned on the shower. The hot water was exactly what I needed to wake me up and wash away all the sweat that had accumulated during sleep. I turned up the heat and just let the water hit my back for a while. Every muscle in my body was sore and the hot water just made a world of difference. I threw on some gray yoga pants, a white tank top, and a gray hoodie. With any luck, I'd have time to get in a good workout after I gotmy car.
I went downstairs and started a pot of coffee."Nicole are you up?" I called out.
"Barely," she said sleepily as she walked into the kitchen wrapped in a blanket.
"I made coffee. Do you need any aspirin?" I asked, pouring her a cup of fresh coffee with vanilla creamer.
"Yum…just the coffee will do, thank you. I feel so weak, but it was worth it," she said with a smile as she sipped her coffee .
"Well...I guess we both got lucky then," I said right before sipping my coffee to stop myself from blushing.
"Oh, spill! Did y'all go full BDSM?" she askedplayfully.
"Damn near, but not quite, and it was inexplicably amazing! He definitely wore me out, though. I still felt drained and sore this morning," I said with laughter.
"Well um…I kind of did...try BDSM with David last night. Now I can't stop thinking about it. It was so much more than what we read about back in the day. I'm looking forward to seeing what he's planning for tonight's scene," Nicole said, biting her lip.
"Scene?" I asked curiously.
"I don't know the exact lingo, but basically there are different rooms where we went, with different props—it's kind of hard to explain," she said finishing her coffee.
"As much as I loved that kinky book series we were into back in the day, I would be crazy not to check it out. Is it close by?" I said as I finished my own cup of coffee.
"It's not too far. I can't remember the name, but I'll text David and see if they have a web page or something I can show you," she said as she tapped around on her phone.
"It's already one p.m. We should get to the shop to pick up your car," Nicole said as she disappeared into her bedroom.
"I'll be ready in ten minutes or less," she said.
