Rain poured across the open field. Not heavy enough to flood, but persistent—enough to test patience and material both.
Under a tarp held up by discarded road signs and salvaged cables, a group worked. No blueprints. No foreman. Just an understanding:
> Get the shelter up before the wind shifts.
The youngest held the tarp while the oldest tied knots that didn't come undone even when soaked. Someone else silently reinforced weak corners with mud bricks and memory.
There were no assignments, but every hand moved as if it already knew what needed to be done.
Because it did.
