The villagers stared at Nina, unconscious but safe in Luna's arms. Fear and guilt settled into their expressions.
One of the elders stepped forward, voice trembling.
"What will happen to us now? The sacrifice… she's been returned to us. Does this mean we've failed to satisfy the dungeon?"
He asked.
Leo narrowed his eyes and immediately pulled up his system interface, searching for any trace of an active dungeon. Luna and Hwan followed suit.
The system responded in unison for all three—no signs of active dungeon activity in the area. Nothing. The portal was closed, collapsed.
"It's gone. The dungeon is no longer here. It's been taken care of."
Leo said flatly.
A mix of relief and disbelief swept through the villagers. Several let out gasps.
A few dropped to their knees. Some cried. There were murmurs of thanks, prayers whispered into the air, hands clasped in gratitude.
But Leo didn't relax.
