Chapter 17 - Chapter 16: Dragon Slayer

A dragon!

A dragon with wings spanning several hundred meters, casting a shadow that covered the sky and blocked the sun. Its body was clad in shimmering silver-white scales, appearing incredibly dazzling and beautiful under the sunlight.

However, it was a fatal beauty that brought destruction.

It stood as the ruler of the British Isles.

When the Age of Gods began to fade, it became the enemy of all life in Britain, defending the last remnants of mystery.

Just looking at it made the audience beyond countless screens feel a suffocating pressure—

Blorbo-[Holy crap! A dragon! The World-Ending White Dragon!]

KeyboardKnight-[These effects are absolutely insane! How did they pull this off?]

YeetTheInfidel-[I'm starting to believe the uploader Alaya really caught a dragon!]

EverydayNerd-[So this is how powerful the Vile King Vortigern was, no wonder even King Uther and Merlin couldn't defeat him and had to hide away, laying eggs and desperately pushing King Artoria to get stronger!]

...

No explanation was needed.

Its presence alone perfectly embodied the image of an apocalyptic catastrophe.

A true World-Ending White Dragon!

Artoria stood before the massive dragon, holding the Sword of Promised Victory, Excalibur, as tiny as an ant in comparison.

It looked as if the dragon could kill her with a mere breath.

And yet—

This perfection-seeking King of Knights raised her sword and pointed at the dragon. "Vile King, the era has changed! The mystery you pursue has long since been replaced by civilization!"

"No, the era has not changed. I am the god of Britain!"

The White Dragon let out a roar that shook the heavens and the earth.

"All your efforts are in vain. Mystery has long ended, and civilization will bring smiles to all mankind."

The holy sword in Artoria's hands shone with a dazzling brilliance.

Within her chest, the heart of the Red Dragon pounded wildly, releasing an overwhelming surge of magical power.

That immense magical energy poured into the holy sword, pushing this anti-fortress Noble Phantasm to its limit.

"For the continuation of human civilization—go and die!

Sword of Promised Victory — Ex-caliburrrrr!

As Artoria loudly chanted the name of her holy sword, a pillar of blinding light instantly formed and came crashing down upon the giant dragon.

This blow carried the faith and hope of countless soldiers who longed for victory, the very future of Britain.

Only by defeating the Vile King Vortigern could Britain truly survive.

Otherwise, humanity would be slaughtered to the last.

The infinite radiance burst forth, completely engulfing the massive dragon. All eyes were on it—everyone wanted to know the result.

However—

At the center of the light, a black hole seemed to appear.

All light was sucked in, completely devoured.

When the light finally faded, that towering figure still stood tall upon the land—

Completely unscathed.

"HAHAHA! Worthless, completely worthless!"

The voice of Vortigern thundered across the land, dripping with mockery.

"Your holy sword exists to protect the world—and I am the world itself! I am the one true god of this land called Britain! Mere mortals daring to defy a god in His own divine kingdom—you shall be annihilated!"

Once merely a foreign king, he had fused with the blood of the White Dragon Albion and become the embodiment of Britain itself.

Though Artoria was born in Britain, possessed the bloodline of King Uther Pendragon, and bore the heart of the Red Dragon, she could not possibly contend with him.

If he killed humanity's last hope—Artoria—he would complete his transformation into a true god.

And forever rule over this land!

KeyboardKnight-[What the hell?! Not even a scratch?! That attack was like a freakin' nuclear bomb!]

AspiringWizard-[Damn, no wonder Merlin had to turn into a bird and torment King Artoria in dreams just to help her get stronger!]

HistorianWithWifi-[We're screwed! Who can stop this monster now?!]

SinMommy-[No wonder it arrogantly calls itself a god—it really has the power to back it up!]

HolySimp999-[C'mon, Nameless! It's your turn! Join forces with King Artoria and take it down!]

...

The unscathed White Dragon shattered everyone's confidence in an instant.

Countless onlookers watching the stream fell into deep terror, as if witnessing the end of the world. However, a familiar red cape appeared beside Artoria—bringing instant reassurance to all.

The Nameless Heroic Spirit had finally arrived!

He looked up at the massive dragon and sneered. "Oh? Just a big lizard, and yet it dares to call itself a god?"

"A mere insect dares to challenge a god?"

Vortigern opened his mouth and unleashed a torrent of dragon breath.

BOOM!

A flood of draconic flame, like a vast river, surged toward him.

But the Nameless Heroic Spirit didn't dodge or flinch. In front of him bloomed layers of violet petals—

[The Seven Rings that Cover the Burning Heavens—Rho Aias!]

Each of the purple flower petals, though delicate in appearance, held strength surpassing castle walls.

The terrifying dragon breath shattered six petals, but was completely halted by the seventh.

Before the White Dragon could launch another attack—

The Nameless Heroic Spirit laughed. "Since you arrogantly claim to be a god—then sit still and behave!"

From all directions behind him, golden chains surged forth like serpents, wrapping layer upon layer around the dragon.

[Enkidu — Chains of Heaven!]

An anti-divine Noble Phantasm with the ability to bind gods.

The higher the target's divinity, the stronger the chains—and the harder to break free. A rare Noble Phantasm that could restrain even a god.

"RAAARGH!"

The White Dragon let out a deafening roar.

The entire earth trembled—but it could not break free.

The Chains of Heaven completely countered the godlike being it had become. The higher the divinity, the tighter the binding.

The Nameless Heroic Spirit turned to the side. "Ria, it's your turn."

"Mm!"

In Artoria's hand appeared a radiant and resplendent lance.

She raised it and aimed directly at the White Dragon—

[Rhongomyniad — The Lance That Shines to the End of the World!]

(T/N: Oh its Rhongomyniad mommi?!?!?)

HUMMMM—

It was as if the entire world responded. The mystery enveloping the White Dragon began to completely dissipate.

Its divine authority as the embodiment of Britain was stripped away.

The arrogant Vortigern, who had wanted to annihilate humanity, now roared in terror and rage: "No! I am meant to rule Britain forever! A being as great as I cannot disappear!"

But it was useless.

The holy spear's brilliant light pierced straight through him, stripping away all of his power.

The colossal body of the White Dragon was pinned to the ground—unable to move a single inch.

The Nameless Heroic Spirit stepped forward, wielding a weapon that filled the dragon with dread.

Its name—

[Gram]

The legendary demonic sword wielded by Sigurd, the greatest hero of Norse myth—symbolizing both honor and destruction.

Originally forged from fragments inherited from his father, it was reforged into a weapon capable of slaying dragons.

It was also the original model for the sword in the stone pulled by Artoria in myth!

In a flash of light, the Nameless Heroic Spirit appeared at the dragon's head, and with one swing of the sword—

Dark, malevolent power erupted from the demonic blade.

The supposedly impenetrable white scales were torn apart like paper. The massive head, as large as a small mountain, crashed to the ground with a thud!

Dragon Slain!

Blood gushed from the White Dragon's neck like a crimson fountain.

The earth was dyed red, forming a strange, magic-rich dragon-slaying field. From the dragon's blood grew a single rose, blooming into a vivid, blood-red flower.

The Nameless Heroic Spirit stepped forward, plucked the rose, and presented it to the young girl.

"Ria, the Age of Gods has ended. This is the Age of Man. As the King of Britain, you must bear witness to humanity's rise and fall."
