Chapter 7 - Something Is Not Right

The darkness was as black as ink, and the silence was as still as death.

The world was invisible, and only one person stood alone in the vast abyss - Pi Guang.

He seemed to be drifting within a giant soul pill, surrounded by smooth, dark jade-like walls that were devoid of light. However, in this desolate place, strands of golden light began to emerge, resembling snakes, dragons, or the veins of thunder, slowly moving through the void.

The golden patterns resembled dragons, hidden and motionless, as if waiting for a divine signal.

Boom!

The sound of thunder suddenly shook, echoing through the nine heavens!

A golden bolt of lightning descended from the endless void, tearing open a crack in this silent world. Then, the sound of water surged, as if the heavens and earth were pouring in, and the great river was flowing backwards, with waves crashing and thundering.

He wanted to move, but his limbs were bound by invisible chains, as if his soul was nailed to this world.

Then, a golden dragon appeared.

One by one, golden lightning dragons rose from the crack, roaring and carrying the majesty of heaven. Initially, there were only three or five, but in the blink of an eye, there were hundreds and thousands. Pi Guang wanted to count them, but in an instant, he couldn't any longer, and his mind and spirit were shattered.

He opened his mouth to cry out, but before he could even make a sound, the lightning dragons rushed into his throat!

One, two, ten, a hundred, a thousand, five thousand, ten thousand–

The lightning dragons poured into his body like a waterfall. He wanted to close his mouth, but he was like a stone statue, unable to move. His soul and body were empty, like porcelain, and the lightning dragons shook and burned through him, as if his muscles, bones, and meridians were being stripped away, leaving only a layer of human skin.

It was a fate worse than death, with countless sufferings!

A giant greenish blue dragon emerged from the sea of thunder, its scales shining like mirrors, and its belly glowing with a rolling soul light.

It coiled around Pi Guang, gazing at him.

He also saw - that there was something in his own belly, like a pearl or a pill, with golden patterns flowing beneath his skin, as if another world was awakening within him.

The greenish blue dragon did not speak, but it seemed to transmit a low voice from billions of years ago saying, "You have become one with the Azure Dragon."

Pi Guang was so numb with pain that he had no sensation left, and only a thread of consciousness hung in the world. Who am I? Where am I?

At this moment, the lightning dissipated, and the void twisted.

Pi Guang heard someone calling him——

"Teacher."

That voice was that of a little girl, soft and clear, like the wind blowing through the forest.

"Teacher... Teacher!"

A hole suddenly appeared in the ceiling, and a ray of golden light sprinkled down from the broken thatched roof, piercing his eyes like a thousand needles. His eyes were pierced by the light, but for the first time, he felt——

The energy of heaven and earth.

Gently, thinly, floating in the air like a thread, circling around him, moving with his heartbeat.

He slowly opened his eyes.

"Are you dead?" The voice came softly, gradually approaching with the sound of footsteps.

Pi Guang got up with a start, staggered to the cotton door curtain, and pulled it open, a breeze blew in his face, along with a pink shadow.

It was a young girl, wearing a light pink dress, with sleeves as light as mist, and long black and pink hair falling down, slightly covering her face.

She had a beautiful face, with lively eyebrows and eyes, but her originally pretty face suddenly frowned, her nose wrinkled slightly, her eyes fell on Pi Guang, and then she turned around and muttered in a low voice, "It smells so bad..."

Pi Guang looked down and his face suddenly turned dark.

"Damn birds! Did these bastards do this on purpose?!" He cursed in a low voice. The whole piece of clothing was covered with bird droppings and had countless holes, as if it had been trampled by thousands of troops.

He stared at the clothes for a long time, muttering in a low voice, "How… why is it so torn? Like I haven't woken up for days? Could it be...I really fainted for days?"

"Who are you?" He raised his head and asked the girl in pink.

The girl turned around, took a step back, and spoke in a voice as loud as a bell, "My name is Li Wanwan. Excuse me... are you Master Jin Pi Gu?"

Pi Guang was stunned and shook his head subconsciously, "You must have walked into the wrong hut..."

Before he finished speaking, he paused. Jin Pi Gu? Wasn't that the nickname that everyone gave him when he was at the Li Family House?

"Ah... yes, it's me. What do you want from me?"

Li Wanwan nodded gently, polite but a little distant, "I am your disciple. I came here three days ago, but you didn't respond, so I went back. I came again the next day, and it was the same. Until today..."

Disciple? He actually has disciples? Those people… weren't they all gone?

He opened his mouth, "You said... three days? I... I fainted for three days?"

She nodded, with a bit of curiosity in her eyes, "I am Li Wan Bai, the future heir of the Li family. But I am not as talented as my cousin Li Tang. My father sent me here to study with you."

Pi Guang could hardly suppress his ecstasy.

The person in front of him was not an ordinary person, but the future head of the Li family! Poor talent? How could anyone be worse than him? He was a person who could barely feel the spiritual energy... and now he was the "master" of a noble lady from a wealthy family?

He tried to stay calm and cleared his throat, "Well...then you wait for a while, I'll go take a shower and change clothes, I'll be back in a moment."

Li Wanwan nodded, turned around and left, her back like peach blossoms in the wind, floating out the door.

Pi Guang looked at her back and murmured to himself, "Something is not right."
