"Umm.. can I sleep with you tonight ? I am too scared to sleep alone" Taen spoke hesitantly.
Rhodri replied "Alright" and welcomed Taen in his room happily thinking it might turn into a sleepover. Rhodri pulled the blanket over Taen and him and asked him "is everything ok? Did you have a nightmare ?". He hit the nail on the spot. "Yeah, I had a nightmare about my mom dying in front of me," Taen replied. After hearing that, Rhodri patted him on his head and said "it's gonna be alright, okay?".
The air around them became soft and just like that, the night passed by. Their soft sounds of sleeping could be heard.
The next morning, Taen woke up first. He had never seen Rhodri sleeping so soundly before. But a glint of silver could be seen in his eyesight. The silver chain which was hanging down from his neck was glowing in the sunlight. He looked at the chain which looked normal at first, but the more he looked at it, the more complicated designs on the chain became.
He felt like he had seen the designs on the chain somewhere before. He wanted to look closely so he extended his right hand to touch the chain.
Just then, Rhodri woke up. In the clock, it had already become 9 am. Taen stopped his right hand when Rhodri turned to look at him. Taen didn't want to suspect someone he had trusted nor did he wanted to be suspected by Rhodri so he immediately retracted his hand. These series of actions didn't escape from Rhodri's eye but he decided to ignore them.
Rhodri placed his left hand on Taen's forehead to check his temperature which had actually turned to normal. " Are you ok?" Rhodri said in a worry. "Mhm. I am feeling better than yesterday" Taen replied.
Even though Rhodri was worried about Taen, Taen's suspicion didn't vanish. He wanted to believe that what his instinct were telling him was not right but he had to do what he had to do. He can't blindly believe what anyone wants him to believe even if it was his best friend.
"Okay then, let's freshen up, i will go take a shower", Rhodri said with way more energy than i have ever had in my life in my mind and body. How can a person be with so much energy at 9 in the morning ? I never knew. Well, that's the youngest mafia leader in history for you.
When Rhodri went to shower, he left his chain with the locket in the drawer which was next to the bed and locked it when Taen went to brush his teeth. He didn't want to be discovered this early but there will come a day when he will know the truth.
Who knew that, that day might actually be pretty early. Taen came back and knocked on the door of his room. No one opened it so he knocked on the door again but there was still no response. It happened again so Taen lost his patience and , at the end, he opened the door by himself.
When he opened the door, he realised that Rhodri was in the shower and felt like it was his chance to clear his suspicion.
His eyes fell on the drawers next to the bed. He first opened the drawer on the right side of the bed but there was nothing in it. Then he carefully tried to open the drawer on the left side of the bed which was right next to the shower. But failed because it was locked.
He also had his lock picking skills which were not to be underestimated. So he tried opening it with a nail he found somewhere and , wow , it opened is what i would like to say but he didn't manage to open it because Rhodri's powers were surrounding the drawer.
Just then, as he was trying to open the drawer, Rhodri came out of the bathroom and saw this scene when he entered the room.
