A young blonde caucasian girl with a bowl cut hairstyle wearing a long-sleeved white shirt and matching trousers sat on the edge of her bed clutching a steel, sphere shaped keychain, she stared at the wooden door, the only other structure that stood out because of it was color; the walls, roof, a desk and chair in the corner of the room where textbooks were neatly stacked and even the floors were composed of blanched tiles. She counted backwards from thirty as she put on a pair of white boots as she walked to the door, by the time she had ten seconds left, a rhythmic beeping of someone pressing buttons on a keypad outside the room could been heard and as soon as it stopped, the door opened with a man in a white coat, glasses a black shirt and trousers walked in.
"Ah, number six; up on time as always. We had a new case for you. "
She simply nodded, and walked out with the man through a hallway lit with bright bulbs lining the sides of the corridor with loud buzzing noise that made her felt nauseous, she tried to held the man's handed but he pulled away. They entered another room with a crt monitor showing a male caucasian child with black hair trimmed into a buzz cut in a similar outfit and in a similar room as hers save for a slim metallic band encircling his head. He bangs against the door screaming at the overhead camera, after a few minutes, he sits in the corner, crying.
"That's the case, number six, do you needed his file?"
"No sir, i would not need it. "

He led her to the room and as soon as the door opened, the boy's eyes made contact with hers, he grins as he threw off the headband his veins glow bright orange, two rang appeared, one around his waist and the other around hers, both of them and the instantaneously swap positions, the boy ran past scientist and out of the room with a bright smile on his faced. He ran for what felt liked minutes but when he blinked, he found himself still in the room and the girl's holding the metal band veins glowing white.
"what just happened?"
"that's a cool ability you had, it is not a common one found in the five major cities. "
"I wasn't really given a choice. " he said, rolling up his sleeve revealing a star shaped scar on his wrist.
She rolled up her sleeve and showed him a similar scar.
"Ditto. " she replied with a smirked "this placed was not all bad once you got used to it. "
He felt a vibrating sensation in his head and heard her voiced
"Actually this placed really sucks. "
Shocked, he looked at her noticing her mouth had not moved.
"I had a cool ability too. " she said mentally while smiling. "at least this way, we did not had to worry about them monitoring our conversations. by the way, what's your designation. I mean number. "
"They called me Specimen Number Eight. "
"i'm Number Six and the headband were to protected you from someone controlling you mentally. "
"oh, i thought it inhibited my power. "
"Nah, they reserve those for more troublesome cases. "
"What were this place?"
The scientist pulled her out before she could respond as he responded to someone on his walkie-talkie.
They entered an elevator which descended downwards for what felt liked an hour, it opened to a black, steel reinforced door which emitted a red light to scan the scientist's eyed. The door recedes upwards and they walked to a room with two armed guards. The scientist gave her a headset and let her came in alone, she entered the room and it was much smaller than the others, in the backed of the room were a dark skinned boy in a black version of six's attire and a metal band around his head, his veins glowed green as he held a kitchen knife in his handed.
"Who the hell were you?" the boy asked coldly.
"i'm number six and you a. " she was cut off by the knife thrown at her at high speed. She shrieked as she ducks out of its path.
"what the hell?!"
"you're pretending. " he said with disgust in his tone.
"w...what?"
"... doesn't matter. "
she heard the scientist spoke through the earpiece
"Specimen Number Six, can you handle this case?"
the boy spoke before she could responded.
"Go ahead and answer your boss. "
she took a deep breath, clutching the metal sphere in her pocket.
"How'd you get the knife?"
He ignored her and walked to the wall, stumbling as he did so before leaning against it and on the floor with his feet and arms crossed.
She had not noticed it before but his eyes were baggy and his head bobs from time to time.
"When you're done asking stupid questions, you can leave. "
"You can't sleep. "
"The girl has eyes in her head. "He says,mocking her.
"shut up!" she roars with her voice becoming more high pitched. "I...I am sorry. "
"For a second, i thought you were going to talk like a normal person. "
"Take off your headband. "
His eyes widen with a horrified looked for a brief second before looking down.
"I...I'd rather not. not again. " he mumbles.
"I cannot help you you if you do not let me. "
"Fine. " he reached for the headband and was about to remove it when he heard a deep laughter, he frantically looked around the room with number six confused. "no! you're working with him, i know you are!"
"who? listened, you can relax, I am not here to....
He snaps his fingers and in an instant he was behind her, he picks up the knife and were about to swing at her but he was too slow , which allowed her to telegraph his movement and evade the attacked.
She looked at the headband as he rushes forward, still swinging the weapon. After avoiding a swing, she reached forward and pulls off the headband and her veins glow, allowing herto saw into his mind.
All she could see was pitch blackness she also felt cold breeze making her shiver. Two green eyes appeared in the distance facing a tree. She questions whether or not she should approach, she shook her head, ignoring her indecisiveness and took a step forward. Her foot imprinted on the snow beneath, she slowly made her way towards it but she steps on a branch and the creature swiftly turns its head to face her, the two circular green eyes larger than that of a humans with slit liked pupils never blinking stared at her.
She was frozen on the spot by fear as she heard its breathing and the air coming from its mouth was ice cold.
It rushed towards her and she screams, her veins stopped glowing and she snaps backed to reality.
The room was filled with gas and both number six and the boy fell unconscious
