*BANG BANG BANG*
Cole fires his Colt several times in quick succession, forcing Cyslin Myr to swing her lightsaber through the air and block the incoming shots for Mace as well. The young Padawan still hasn't mastered his precognitive Force ability as well as the older Jedi Master, and couldn't block the attacks. But Cyslin Myr is also surprised, as she thought that Cole fired a blaster at her, which she should have been able to deflect. What she blocks are slugs, which usually come from slugthrowers, so how did Cole fire them just now?
The slugs turn into molten rounds as she blocks them, surprising her. But she has no time to think about it, as Cole continues attacking. Seeing his master blocking for him, Mace reaches out and tries to pull Cole using the Force. However, he is surprised to find that Cole is resisting the pull.
Several grenades are thrown towards the two Jedi, and Cyslin Myr blocks them in the air. Then she makes them fly back to Cole, but he has already expected this to happen. He has used the pull from Mace to increase his already monstrous speed and attack the two Jedi at close range. Usually, you shouldn't ever do that against a Jedi. Long-distance fighting is what you should do, but Cole is a different beast altogether. The Jedi don't know what is about to hit them.
Cyslin swings her lightsaber through the air, but Cole rolls underneath her swing and drops a flashbang on the ground, right underneath her. Feeling the danger, Cyslin tries to push the flashbang away, and is punished by it with a back kick from Cole.
*BAM*
"PUUH..."
The air leaves her lungs, and she falls to the ground, performing a roll to stand right back up again. She is surprised at Cole's strength and speed. He doesn't seem to have a plan right now, making precognition hard and the fight unpredictable. Cole swings the Deathstroke through the air, clashing with Mace Windu's lightsaber.
*TSSSCHHH*
He only uses one hand, though, while Mace pushes back with all his strength and tries to overpower Cole. Using his second hand, Cole throws another handful of flashbangs behind him, before Cyslin Myr can interfere with his fight.
*BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM*
Some of them go off right away, and others take a moment. Cole has created grenades with random countdowns for such a moment. Both the Jedi Master and Padawan close their eyes and have their senses disturbed by the loud noise and bright light.
*BAM*
Cole's fist buries itself into Mace's stomach, making him fold.
"GUHH!"
Cole grabs the kid's arm and pulls him forward, bringing his head down and smashing it into his knee. Then he slams his elbow into Mace's neck.
"Urgh..." Mace groans as his face is smashed into the ground.
Cole suddenly dodges backwards, evading the lightsaber swing from Cyslin Myr, who has already recovered and seen what happened with her Padawan. She moves forward, enhancing herself with Force Speed and immediately catches up to Cole, swiping her lightsaber at him again. Cole blocks the attack with his vibrosword, the Deathstroke, and engages the Jedi in a swordfight. Or so she believes.
She slashes at him horizontally, and he ducks, swiping upwards and forcing her to bring her lightsaber around. The advantage of having a lightsaber is that every side is the dangerous one. She doesn't need to reposition her grip, like Cole does. But that's good, it would be too unfair for her otherwise. Alright, not quite true, but still.
Cyslin Myr blocks one of Cole's attacks and kicks him in the stomach. She follows it up by grabbing stones lying on the ground and throwing them towards him. She telekinetically tries to hit Cole with the larger stones and is suddenly alerted to danger coming from below. Her eyes move, and instinctively, she swings her lightsaber down, trying to block the attack. But it's not blaster fire.
*BOOOOOOM*
It was explosives.
A kick impacts the side of her head, and one end of an electro staff smashes into the other side of her head. Mace Windu has managed to stand back up again. He wasn't knocked out completely, but he doesn't look well. He is angry and loses his cool for a moment, using the Force to push Cole back and smash him into the wall.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!" he shouts.
Cole feels the force push him against the wall and senses the cracks forming. He takes out the trigger and presses it.
*BABOOOOOM*
Mace looks up and sees the ceiling above him in the secret tunnel collapsing, with large chunks of stone falling down on him. His eyes widen as he realises he will die here.
"MACE!"
Cyslin Myr uses all of her strength in the Force and blocks the large stones, preventing them from crushing the boy.
*BOOOOM*
Another series of explosions takes out more of the walls and plummets to the ground, overwhelming Myr. Before the large stones hit Mace, though, a grappling gun wraps around his leg and pulls him away from there, right into Cyslin Myr, causing the two to smash into one another. Cyslin Myr catches her Padawan and turns around again, looking at Cole, who just saved his life.
"Why are you doing this? I can't feel any negative emotions from you. There are none whatsoever. Is this a job for you? Are you hired?" she asks.
"This is a statement. I find your Order to be hypocritical. If you want to help someone, then do it. Don't find excuses. I'm just helping you get off your high horse," Cole says.
Cyslin narrows her eyes. She checks Mace again and then removes her robes. She reaches for her lightsaber...
???
"Wha? Where- where is my lightsaber?" she asks, not finding it at her hip.
"Oh, that... well, sorry about that. I thought we might even the playing field," Cole says, revealing the lightsaber of her and Mace in his hand.
"This is a tractor rifle, quite useful if you ask me. I don't know how you Jedi can lose fights if you have all that power, honestly."
Cyslin Myr reaches out with the Force, but Cole hides them behind his back, placing them in his inventory.
"Nah uh!"
"What did you do?! I no longer feel my lightsaber?" she shouts.
The connection to her lightsabers was cut off as Cole placed them into his inventory. This was a perfect chance; he couldn't waste it, now could he? He puts his gun away and walks forward. Cyslin Myr is anxious; she has never been separated from her lightsaber, and it is said in the Order that you keep your lightsaber close to you at all times. There is a bond between the Jedi and his or her weapon. She reaches out using the Force and lifts up the boulders next to her.
"Rah!"
She hurls them through the air, aiming at Cole. She no longer controls the speed, though, and is not bothered about him surviving this encounter. But Cole is too fast. He dodges the stones and moves through them, evading her attacks. Suddenly, he feels the repulsive force again, pushing him away. He turns mid-air and pushes off the wall behind him, charging forward. He punches forward, hitting Cyslin in the face.
But the Jedi Master is experienced in hand-to-hand combat and performs a series of attacks as well, hitting Cole in the face and stomach. She kicks him in the face and sends out a quick jab. She is using the Force to reinforce her body, as she would otherwise be unable to keep up with Cole. But for this exact reason, he has his armour. He catches her fist and pulls her in, smashing his elbow into her face and then throwing her to the ground. Without looking, he backhands Mace Windu, who tried to ambush him, and sends him crashing against the wall.
The Jedi Master stands back up. She swipes the blood from her face and looks at Cole. He takes her lightsaber out of his inventory and throws it towards her feet.
"We wouldn't want you to claim that you were handicapped, would we?"
The lightsaber flies into her hand, and she ignites it. Cole takes out his electro staff and twirls it around. Then Cyslin attacks. Their weapons clash, and it is evident that the Jedi Master is not happy anymore. She is not fighting to have Cole surrender; she is serious. Normally, Cyslin Myr uses a defensive Form III Soresu. Soresu relies on economy of motion and energy efficiency, keeping up constant blade movement to build up momentum and minimise energy expenditure. Form III focuses on strong defensive technique to essentially outlast an opponent, waiting until they begin making mistakes due to frustration or fatigue, before taking advantage of these lapses and countering. Despite its effectiveness, Soresu is heavily criticised for its lack of offensive capabilities, as it facilitated survival rather than victory.
The reason Cyslin Myr managed to deflect all of Cole's shots was that she is a master of Soresu; however, the experience today prompted her to go on the offensive, trying to overpower Cole occasionally, since he isn't even breathing hard. Sadly, there is nothing she can show him that he hasn't seen already. He has studied her fighting style and learned it, now knowing its weakness. And he capitalises on it.
Cyslin takes a step forward, attacking Cole and cutting him horizontally, but that proves to be a mistake. Cole separates the electro staff into two escrima sticks, having her lightsaber pass through. He slams them against her left arm, causing it to crack and then presses the electric tip against her chest, shocking her.
*ZZZZZ*
"ARGH!"
*BAM*
The staff smashes against her face again, and a second later, two energy blasts cut through her two kneecaps.
"AAARGH!"
...
The two Jedi lie on the ground, in various stages of pain. Cyslin whines in pain, trying not to let her emotions out and looks around. Drooz is dead, killed by Cole, so she won't find out anything about the Jedi Master they were looking for. Her Padawan is unconscious and doesn't look good. The Jedi Temple is ruined, and she has just lost the fight against Cole, gaining nothing except his name and terrible wounds from it. Cole takes out Mace's lightsaber and throws it towards Mace. Then he just turns around and leaves.
Seeing him leave like that makes Cyslin angry. She looks at her hand and sees her lightsaber. Not thinking about it further, she raises the lightsaber in her anger and makes it fly through the air, towards Cole's back. In the last second, she ignites it.
*TSSSS---*
Before it can hit Cole, the lightsaber disappears entirely.
"Tsk tsk tsk... how very un-Jedi-like of you. I suppose that's what you get for being a sore loser. I let you two live, and you thank me with such a sneaky move. I am proud of you. But you lost your lightsaber for it. I hope that was worth it," Cole says and walks away, ignoring the shouting of the Jedi Master.
.
Cole makes his way back to his ship and begins working. He takes out the hyperdrive and replaces it with a new one. As simple as that. After he finishes fixing the Space Yacht, he walks into the village and knocks on the first door he sees.
"Yes?" the woman asks from the door.
"Sup? I crashed into the side of the temple there and caused some unrest. So, I was wondering if I could help you in any way?" Cole asks.
"Help?... who are you?"
"Cole Cassidy, at your service. So I heard you have a plague going around the area? Mind telling me about it?"
"Do you mean the Nifflin Plague? We have suffered from the plague for centuries now. My daughter has it as well... *sniff*... no one knows what to do about it... I-she will die at this rate," the woman starts to break down and talks to Cole, who is as suspicious as they come.
But Cole, despite what it may seem like, is not that big an asshole. The Infinite Inventory allows him to live comfortably, which enables him to take on jobs he wants and believes are right. He would have also attacked the Hutts if he didn't know that life would turn even worse for those who suffer under them now. Unchecked chaos is worse than controlled crime. But he had plans for that; he just needed a good spot for a headquarters.
After an hour, Cole knows about the woman, Ca'ell and her daughter Lis'ell. He knows Lis'ell's favourite colour, her favourite food, the names of her friends, what she liked to play with and more. However, he still knows nothing about the details of the plague.
"Alright, enough. I like to know about your daughter as much as the next person, but may I interrupt you here? If I may, I might have a way to find out what is going on," Cole interrupts.
"How?" she asks.
"I would need some of Lis'ell's blood."
"Blood? What for?"
"I need to analyse it. Here's a needle, just give me a bit of her blood," Cole says.
Ca'ell takes the needle and looks at Cole, uncertain. She has been talking for a long time, so she has some trust in him. But to take some blood? She wasn't sure about that. Still, she injects the needle into the arm of her daughter and takes some blood with it. Cole takes the blood and quickly places it in the inventory. After finding out what the problem is, he now has an idea on how to cure the respiratory disease.
"I see."
"What is it?! Can you cure it?! Can you help Lis'ell?" she asks.
"I might. Come, I'll need to do this in my spaceship. I'll need tools for this," Cole says and walks out of the house.
Ca'ell follows him into his Inyusu-class Star Yacht. Cole moves into the lab, which he created some time ago, and starts working. Ca'ell has no idea what he is doing and is overwhelmed by the large ship. With quick steps, Cole starts to look for a cure for the respiratory disease and then develops a vaccine for it. That's easier and would allow him not to have to come back here. If he does something, he sees it through. Cole plays for keeps.
After several hours, he is finished and has the vaccination ready. He places it into his inventory and multiplies it. Then he walks out of the laboratory and into the storage room, where he finds transport crates. He fills one of them with the vaccine and then places it into the inventory, multiplying that as well. He doesn't know how many people live on Mathas, but 100'000'000 should be enough. He walks out of the ship, where Ca'ell is already waiting for him, together with her daughter. He told her to get her daughter here for all to see that the vaccine works.
"Here, let me show you how to do it," Cole says and gives Lis'ell her shot.
"That's it? Is that all it takes?" Ca'ell asks.
"Indeed. Now all you have to do is wait. In a few hours, you will see an improvement, and Lis'ell will wake up, that I can guarantee. Now, I have enough of these for everyone. And please remember, only one for each person. If you take two, it won't help you any more than one does, alright?"
Then, Cole unloads large quantities of the crates filled with the vaccine on the floor. Thousands upon thousands of crates are stacked in the village square, rising high in the air.
"Ohhhh..."
"Wooaahh"
The people start to look at him as if he is more than just a man, which tells him that it is time to go.
