"Hello! May I ask your name?"
Rock Lee unconsciously used honorifics when addressing Naruto.
"My name is Uzumaki Naruto! You don't have to be so polite. These are just some of my humble thoughts."
Naruto replied with a smile. His taijutsu wasn't anything earth-shattering yet, but it was far better than what was taught in the academy.
"Naruto-kun! Can I train with you?"
Rock Lee asked again, his eyes full of longing.
"Of course, come with me!"
Naruto brought Rock Lee to his usual training ground. Looking around at the simple but well-equipped space, Lee was visibly surprised.
"Is this your training ground, Naruto-kun?"
He looked around curiously at the setup and environment. Compared to where he trained, this was much better.
"You can just call me Naruto. No need to be so formal. I usually train here."
Naruto said, walking toward the traps he had previously set. Lee followed silently, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
When they reached the traps, Naruto noticed there was no prey. It seemed the animals had learned to avoid the area. He glanced over his earlier setup. After learning proper trap-making techniques, his old ones now seemed primitive.
He dismantled the old trap and used his recently acquired knowledge to build several better-hidden ones around the area.
Once done, Naruto turned to Rock Lee and said, "Lee, next time you come here, be careful of the traps. Other than me, no one comes around this place."
"Naruto-kun… I mean, Naruto, why do you set traps?"
Lee corrected himself quickly, recalling Naruto's request.
"These are for hunting. It's my source of meat. Only with enough protein can I maintain proper training!"
Naruto's firm tone made Rock Lee hesitate for a moment.
Seeing his reaction, Naruto said, "You're not mistaking me for some clan heir or something, right? I'm an orphan."
"Ah! I'm sorry, Naruto! I didn't know you were also an orphan."
Lee was taken aback and immediately apologized. He hadn't realized that Naruto, like himself, had no family.
"It's fine, Lee. I'm about to start training."
Naruto resumed his usual routine. His training intensity was no less than Lee's, and he completed everything faster. He even used methods Lee hadn't seen before—some of which Naruto had already shared with him.
Rock Lee followed the instructions Naruto had given him and began training as well. For a while, the only sound in the clearing was the exertion of two boys training under the morning sun.
Time passed slowly…
Since their last meeting, Rock Lee would often wait for Naruto at the training site. After learning more about him, Lee was stunned to find out Naruto was a year younger than him.
But Naruto's maturity, effort, and strength had left a deep impression on Lee. Even though Naruto was younger, Lee had already begun treating him like an older brother.
After discovering how the villagers treated Naruto, Rock Lee took it upon himself to help Naruto buy food.
Mostly vegetables and basic supplies—Lee didn't have the money for meat, nor did he eat it often. But ever since he started following Naruto, he had meat every day.
Combined with Naruto's training methods, Lee clearly felt his strength growing.
After saying goodbye to Lee, Naruto returned home and lay on his bed…
He stared at the ceiling, wondering: Should I develop a way to communicate without Anbu knowing?
Naruto was becoming increasingly frustrated with Anbu surveillance. It was the main reason he held back during training. He couldn't even teach Rock Lee the full taijutsu system he had developed, for fear of drawing attention from the Third Hokage or Danzo.
If not for the "God Rewards Hard Work" ability, this level of training wouldn't be enough to push him forward. He needed far more intense exercise.
But if he increased intensity, his true physical power would resemble that of a Chūnin. Combined with strong chakra control and ninjutsu, Naruto would be hard to hide.
He began pondering ways to communicate without sound.
A secret code? No, he couldn't underestimate the perceptiveness of trained shinobi.
If only there were phones!
Suddenly, Naruto had an idea: Why not make one using chakra?
Chakra was a combination of spiritual and physical energy—it could transmit information. In his body were the chakra consciousnesses of both the Fourth Hokage and Uzumaki Kushina. That meant chakra could definitely act as an information carrier.
If I can convert sound into chakra signals, then back into sound in someone else's mind, I could build a communication system!
Naruto sat cross-legged, making the Anbu observing him believe he was refining chakra.
In truth, he was deep in thought. Normally, this kind of concept would take years to develop—but Naruto had his cheat.
"Chakra Sound Transmission Concept +2!"
"Chakra Sound Transmission Concept +3!"
From time to time, that divine voice echoed in his mind like music.
The next day, Naruto was still far from completing the technique.
The signal was unstable. Sentences came out garbled.
He continued experimenting in his mind.
Naruto mentally constructed a chakra-based data center, using chakra as the medium. Sound would originate from this center, then travel to the brain.
This was to protect the brain from overexertion.
After several failures, Naruto believed that with a few more days, he'd make it work.
Even while attending school, Naruto remained focused on refining the idea. Two more days passed, and his mental energy was drained.
"Hinata! Keep watch for me a while—I need a nap!"
Naruto whispered to Hinata, then collapsed face-down on his desk.
Sasuke, who had recently been watching Naruto more, could now practice hand seals while listening in class.
Seeing Naruto sleeping, Sasuke didn't assume he was slacking. Instead, he imagined Naruto training to exhaustion every night.
"Damn it! Uzumaki Naruto…"
Sasuke clenched his fists. He had always thought himself the best. But now he realized that if Naruto ever stopped hiding his power, he might not be able to win against him.
Another two days passed…
Then Naruto suddenly looked up, surprised.
He'd done it.
He had completed the technique—and even surpassed his original goal. He called it:
Chakra Conversation Room.
Or Chakra Chat Room.
Not only could it transmit voices silently, but with a chakra consciousness space established, multiple users could share visual projections of themselves.
It supported both private and group communication.
All of it happened inside the user's mind—completely undetectable by outsiders.
Naruto modeled it after the chat groups from his past life. Chakra acted as both the signal and the data carrier.
And this was only the beginning—there was still so much room for growth!
