Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Amidst the Fog (II)

Her wings flapped, and the two piles of rotten flesh on Batgirl's chest swayed with her, unattractive and even disgusting.

With just one dive, she brought up a female slave, the poor subhuman slave, kept struggling and screaming, but it was impossible for the crowd to save her. In just a few moments, the slave was torn in half by Batgirl, blood scattered down, causing a gasp of shock as Batgirl let out a mocking, strange laugh.

"Shoot that uglyby for me!" Feld raged.

No need for Fields to say more, the angry crossbowmen immediately raised their bows, crackling with a burst of explosions, crossbow arrows and feathered arrows splashed over, Batgirl didn't expect the humans to possess long-range means, immediately suffered, hit by three or four arrows, rag-like headlong fall to the ground.

"Ugly thing actually dares to attack my lords, every population is paid for by me!"

Fielder was furious, took a halberd from the carriage, didn't care about the nobleman's demeanor anymore, swung a full moon and smashed Batgirl's head to smithereens.

In order to kill Batgirl, there was chaos on the flanks, large swaths of rotting corpses were not blocked by the bows and immediately pounced over.

"Everyone dodge!"

Ashena immediately urged her power, only to see the black scales of the Dragon Seed Wolf's neck begin to nourish and smoke, and the terrifying energy converged, even the space appeared to be distorted.

"Boom!"

Ghostly blue fire erupted from the wolf's mouth, the heat wave was like a drowning river, the blue flames enveloped a large part of the location in front of Fielder, and the distorted figures were engulfed by the flames in a moment. Fielder even felt that even the gray mist around him dissipated quite a bit.

"It's hot!" The guards were all wearing armor, and because they were so close, they were roasted like iron plates, and all of them grimaced and screamed in misery. The tainted blood of the rotting corpses was also dried and pasted onto the armor.

Ashina spat out her tongue, "Sorry."

The consecutive flames extinguished the large group of carrion corpses, so the rest were not enough to be feared, and the crowd successfully withstood the first wave of corpses.

Three slaves and one slave guard died, it was still acceptable.

"Rest in place for half an hour, the women go and pick up the arrows."

Feld took the canteen from the steward's hand and slammed it down a few times, the cold water irritating his throat before Feld woke up and felt like he was still in reality.

"Thanks to you, Ashena." Feld reached up and rubbed Ashena's head, causing Ashena to blush, her wolf's tail whipping like a propeller and feeling like she was going to take off in place.

Ashina shook her head and said with mock modesty, "It's what I should do."

But the expression was, (˵¯͒〰¯͒˵)

Come on, compliment me, don't stop!

It's no wonder the Northern Province is called a cursed place, if the original owner came, no, I probably wouldn't have lasted long if I didn't have Ashena's help.

Feld felt backlash, but quickly dispelled the negativity as he saw a new sign approaching in his direction, a bunch of red exclamation marks.

"This sign, is it monsters again? No, they're lined up in a queue that's too neat, and there's also exactly 19 of them." Fielder frowned slightly, and after pondering for a while, he called on Ashena and pointed ahead, "You go ahead and make an ambush in the gray mist, and prepare to improvise."

Cavalry Captain Connor and a group of brothers similarly advanced through the gray fog.

"This driving fog light looks like it's going out, damn it, why is that brainwashed baron's light so big while ours is such a small one. Second Miss is too stingy, wanting the donkey to work and refusing to give the carrot."

"Shut up stupid donkey! Be careful your loud voice attracts the carrion." The person beside him scolded him nervously.

"I feel something running behind us." A sharp-witted cavalryman said, looking extremely uneasy as he carried his mounted rifle, "We should be looking for a chance to kill Baron Feld before we enter the Northern Province, not now."

Connor said helplessly, "You think I don't want to? But killing a nobleman openly is enough to send us all to the gallows."

This was the reason why they had bid farewell to Fields earlier and circled back, to find an alibi.

Soon enough, Connor's cavalry found Field's trail, and the freshly smeared blood and bodies on the ground were the perfect guide line.

There was no way to hide a trail of over two hundred men.

"Brothers, wait and prioritize killing Fields, then shock the slaves back and forth and grab their fog repelling lamps, the gray fog will kill everyone soon."

Connor's plan was perfect.

After arranging themselves in a mounted rifle charge formation, the men began to let their warhorses trot.

"I can already imagine Feld's terrified plea for mercy!" Connor licked the corner of his mouth and laughed recklessly.

However, when he saw Feld, his smile immediately froze.

A thirty-man fully armored guard, holding their shields and halberds in a defensive formation, the brightly shining halberds, as well as the dirty blood and guts of rotting corpses on their armor, signaled that they were not to be messed with.

Feld, on the other hand, stayed behind the formation, two rows of crossbowmen were already wound up, as long as the order, they would fire at Connor's cavalry, even without professional training, but the crossbow is something that a three year old child can fire, and easily pierced through the adult's body.

"Damn! We've been spotted." Connor was dumbfounded and felt like a clown.

"How is this possible, isn't Feld a rootless coward, where did he get his guards?"

The crowd of cavalrymen were in an uproar, the surprise attack was a joke without the suddenness.

Storming heavily armored halberdiers in formation with warhorses? Or ramming that damn chariot formation?

"Let's retreat!"

Connor seized the reins violently, and the warhorse hissed and swerved with bouncing hooves.

"Roar!"

A giant black wolf, more than two meters tall and as strong as a bear, appeared behind the warhorse, scaring Connor's warhorse into a stumble.

Connor was thrown off by the warhorse, and he was scared out of his wits.

"Damn!"

Before he could pick up his weapon, Connor had a lance pressed against his throat, and a stunningly beautiful wolf subhuman-looking man stared at him with a smirking look. Connor knew that as long as he moved, he would surely die.

What was even more desperate was that his own fog-repelling lamp, too, had been taken away by her.

"This damn it, it's that slave that Fields bought!"

Connor immediately remembered the slave that Fields had insisted on buying.

Without a fog repelling light, she was able to come and go in the gray fog.

The crowd was dumbfounded, the goddess is above! What kind of bloody luck did they have, running into the Chosen One of God.

Who the hell would have thought that Fields would have a Chosen One, if they knew, they wouldn't dare to come even if they were given 10,000 gold coins.

"Huh, Captain Connor, why are you here? Really scared me." Fielder didn't directly order them to be killed, he slyly rolled his eyes, then used a casual tone like seeing an old friend, "Is it because you're worried that I won't be on time for my appointment? Don't worry, it's a noble's duty to open up territory for the family."

"Uh..." Connor was speechless, between life and death made him dangling.
