"Hahahahahaha…" The next moment, Raphael burst into laughter as though he had gone mad, but Kranos knew it was his excitement. He could also see a faint smile on his mother's face. Having parents like this... isn't so bad after all.
Kranos hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Father, I think it would be better if I could obtain some corresponding space-elemental skills and cultivation techniques."
Raphael was stunned for a moment, then he smacked his forehead. "That's right! I need to inform Father so he will give you some cultivation techniques from the treasury."
"Yes, Father!" Kranos nodded, agreeing with his father's decision.
However, Anna shook her head gently. "Kranos just awakened. Why don't we celebrate like other families—with a sumptuous feast?" She had already prepared the ingredients in advance, so it wouldn't take long to prepare the food.
Kranos quickly agreed with his mother's suggestion. He was extremely hungry—after all, he had barely eaten anything since morning.
"In that case, I'll visit Father tomorrow. After that, I'll contact a friend of mine and invite him to teach Kranos the knight's breathing and sword techniques." Raphael said.
Anna smiled softly and hurried to the kitchen. Soon, a rich, savory aroma wafted through the house, causing Kranos, who was waiting patiently in the parlor, to salivate slightly. He waited patiently, and after almost an hour passed, Anna served the food on the dining table and called them over.
Kranos and his parents enjoyed their meal in silence. It was a blend of different varieties of beasts, some spiritual grains, some spiritual fruits, etcetera. The meal lasted for quite a while.
When Kranos was done eating, he felt extremely satisfied. "Okay, Father, I will head to my room and prepare for the training for tomorrow." Kranos gazed outside through the window and realized that it was already dusk.
…
As soon as Kranos stepped into his room, Raphael turned to his wife with a slight smile. "As expected of my son, it seems you didn't disappoint, my love."
Anna blushed a little. "What do you mean by 'I didn't disappoint you'?"
"Hehe, why don't we make a little sister with a good talent for Kranos?"
"You are not serious…"
…
Kranos stepped into his room and lay on the bed; today felt like a dream, from almost having slight disappointment to awakening the time system, he felt that everything that happened seemed surreal. He didn't dare believe it. He was hesitating to sleep because he felt that it all might disappear as soon as he woke up. Unfortunately, no matter how much he resisted, his body was still that of an eight-year-old.
The drowsiness washed over him and took him into dreamland unconsciously.
…
System! As soon as Kranos woke up, he immediately called out to the system panel. A glowing interface appeared before his eyes, displaying his stats. So, it wasn't a dream… He sighed in relief and got up to freshen himself.
Afterward, he went to join his parents for breakfast. His father was already in the parlor, going through some jade slips, while his mother was in the kitchen preparing the meal. Kranos could scent the fragrant aroma coming from the kitchen, as expected of his mother.
Seeing Kranos enter, Raphael looked up. "Son, how was your night's rest?"
"It was fine, Dad. Good morning," Kranos replied, taking a seat beside Raphael to see what he was doing. Taking a closer look, Kranos realized that it seemed as though one of the defense fortresses had been breached. Over the years he realized that the Aloria kingdom was constantly at war with some demon races nearby, fortunately, they were strong enough to deter the demons.
Raphael noticed Kranos was too engrossed and gently interrupted, "Alright, go greet your mother."
Kranos smiled wryly. He wanted to learn more about the situation of the battlefield, not that he could do anything about it, just to satisfy his curiosity, but since his father had interrupted, he could only go to the kitchen.
Entering, he saw his mother humming to a pleasant tune as she was immersed in preparing breakfast; a smile bloomed on his face. "Good morning, Mother, what smells so nice?"
Anna turned with a light smile. "Son! Come give Momma a hug!"
Kranos felt a little awkward but went ahead and hugged her, after which she spoke, "I'm making a special delicacy. Think of it as an afterparty towards your awakening. Go wait in the dining room—it'll be ready soon."
"Okay, Mom."
…
8:00 AM
After breakfast, Kranos immersed himself in reading like he usually did., Before long, Raphael called out, "Son, go change into your training clothes. I'm going to receive my friend—it's time for your knight training to begin."
"Okay, Dad."
A few minutes later, Kranos returned and went to the courtyard where the training would take place. In the courtyard, his father was engaged in conversation with a middle-aged man. The man had a sharp, fierce aura about him, with black hair and sharp, stern brows.
As Kranos approached, the man turned his gaze toward him. Feeling his gaze, Kranos couldn't help but feel a wave of pressure; he felt as though the man was a savage beast about to pounce on him. Breathe in… Breathe out… He tried to calm himself inwardly to relieve some pressure.
This process lasted for a few minutes before the pressure dissipated. The man nodded toward Raphael. "Your son has a good temperament. To be able to withstand such pressure at his age, he can be considered quite gifted."
"Haha, of course! It runs in the family," Raphael replied, smiling faintly. He knew Donald was just testing his son, which was why he didn't interfere. Had it been any other person that intentionally pressure his son, hmph…
"Come, son," he continued. "This is the friend I told you about from the capital—Donald Feron. He'll be your instructor from today. Come, pay your respects."
It seems he was the teacher Father talked about, and then that pressure just now... It was probably some test of some sort. "Greetings, Teacher. This student pays his respects…" Kranos said, bowing respectfully.
"Haha, good lad," Donald smiled lightly for the first time since arriving.
