Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: This Is Going to Be Fun Part 2

'This is going to be fun.'

Vio rushed through the narrow alleys of the village.

In one of them, he spotted two soldiers—one close, the other farther away.

Without hesitation, he charged at them, dagger in hand.

They noticed him instantly, but before they could react, Vio threw his dagger with full force, cutting through the air.

The front soldier flinched, instinctively stepping back—but to his shock, the dagger sailed past him, aimed directly at the one behind him.

It pierced through the back soldier's skull.

At that exact moment, a brutal punch smashed into the front soldier's head.

"BOOM!"

And the head exploded – routine stuff.

Vio didn't pause—he had seen this scene too many times.

He kept running, reaching the second soldier's corpse, and retrieving his dagger with a smirk.

'This dagger is something.'

He moved faster, knowing it wouldn't take long before the bodies were discovered.

Dashing between alleys, he ignored the villagers, and figured out their attitude—We don't care—just don't involve us.

And Vio respected that.

He didn't know if they had recognized him as an outsider, but no one raised an alarm as they watched him sprint through the village.

As he approached the pillar in the village center, a sharp whistle rang out.

"FIIIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUU!"

Immediately followed by the blaring sound of a horn.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Near the pillar, two soldiers stood guard.

When they saw Vio approaching, they instinctively stepped aside.

'I knew it. They were ordered not to engage me—especially the weaker ones.'

Focus sharp enough to notice—every soldier who refused to fight him was weaker than the ones who actively hunted him.

Wasting no time, Vio climbed the pillar, reaching the top as glowing words formed before him.

['Eye' unlocked.]

[Evaluation completed: 156%.]

Quickly descended, preparing to leave the village.

At the same time, a group of soldiers riding wolves appeared behind him.

'Just as I expected. Alright, let's play for a bit, guys.'

Vio ducked into an alley, but as soon as he turned the first corner, an archer appeared ahead, releasing a barrage of arrows at once.

Vio rolled, dodging them all.

'They're guiding me again.'

It was obvious—they left a specific alley open, to take it.

Instead, he jumped, landing on a rooftop, then leaped from one house to another.

Of course, arrows followed him relentlessly.

"What's he doing now?!" one soldier shouted.

"Surround him! Don't let him escape!" another yelled.

"I know that! But he's not even trying to leave the village!" a third added.

They didn't understand his intent.

Vio kept jumping randomly across rooftops, avoiding any clear direction, searching for a house with no villagers inside.

And when finally found one, he lured all of them toward it.

Then, with full force, he slammed the roof.

"BOOM!"

The entire roof collapsed, burying the house in debris.

A thick cloud of dust erupted, blinding everyone—including Vio himself.

"Damn it! Fall back!"

Too late.

They can't sense him—but he could.

Vio appeared in front of one soldier, and in an instant—Both the man and his wolf's heads exploded.

"BOOM! BOOM!"

[2 Points obtained.]

Vio kicked the soldier's corpse aside, then grabbed the wolf's body, converting it into coins.

[1,000,000 obtained.]

Then moved to the next ones.

[9 Points obtained.]

[4,000,000 obtained.]

By the time the dust settled, he had killed five soldiers and four wolves, and kept one wolf alive—to ride.

With a stab from a dagger, Vio spurred the wolf forward, sending it racing out of the village like a mad beast.

If stayed, it was only a matter of time before more and more soldiers arrived, trapping him inside.

Instead, a better plan came to mind.

It was exhausting, but it wasn't like this mountain had been kind to him anyway.

The alleys had served their purpose—to get him on the wolf's back.

Without it, he wouldn't have gotten far.

At the same time, this move made it easier for them to track him, but it also saved Vio energy—A win-win.

Just as expected, it didn't take long before seven soldiers began chasing him.

'Looks like each team has at least seven members.'

[Evaluation completed: 186%.]

Vio grabbed the wolf's neck and twisted it sharply, forcing it to change direction—charging straight at one of the soldiers.

Grabbed the wolf and threw it at the soldier.

The soldier's eyes widened in disbelief.

He summoned wind to push it away—But the moment the wind stopped, a dagger pierced his skull.

"CHINK!"

[2 Points obtained.]

Vio released an electric pulse, stunning the next wolf, giving himself just enough time to jump onto it.

Yanked his dagger from the soldier's corpse and forced the wolf into another frenzied charge.

A painful whimper escaped the creature as it bolted forward.

The remaining soldiers could barely comprehend what just happened.

Everything was too fast.

Vio knew they hadn't had time to relay this strategy to the others yet—So he kept repeating it as much as possible.

At one point, he jumped just in time, avoiding a trap on the ground.

"BOOM!"

The wolf froze, turning into an ice statue.

'Tsk. Lost a point. Damn it.'

The mission didn't count kills unless they were by his own hands.

Vio landed, scanning his surroundings.

His eyes narrowed.

Waiting ahead—Seven more soldiers.

'Damn it. How did I forget? The owl!'

On one of their shoulders, a white owl was perched.

Overlooked their communication method.

He had been on the run for too long—a new strategy had already been studied and countered.

"I can't take this anymore! Let's just kill him!"

"BOOOOOOOOOOO!"

'Ugh, the horn again.'

"What about Hami—"

"Screw him and his orders! The Uncle is waiting below. If we kill him before that, we win. But like this, he's just a damn rat that knows how to run!"

"Don't underestimate him. He's killed a lot of our men."

"Out of respect for them, I won't say much, but they were too weak to keep up with him. We're different."

"Enough wasting time. The fog is starting to form. Do we follow Hamim's orders, or do we just ignore them?"

"I say we kill the damn rat. I'm sick of this."

"Me too."

"Same here. Hamim can go to hell."

"Agreed."

Vio was surrounded—fourteen soldiers, technically twenty-eight if you counted the wolves.

As they argued, Vio showed no reaction, arms crossed, a smug smile on his face, he patiently waited for them to finish talking.

"Look! Look! He's mocking us!"

"We'll show him what that means—"

'They won't shut up.'

Growing bored, Vio raised a finger, pointing at one of them, followed by another, then another, one by one.

Then, with the same finger, motioned toward his crotch area, without forgetting the provocative smile on his face.

"Son of a—!"

"Bastard!"

"Arrogant piece of shit!"

Some drew their bows, while others relied on hands.

Then, with everything they had, they unleashed a storm of ice shards and arrows toward him.

'This should make for good training.'

Vio jumped from place to place, dodging with ease.

Fists slammed into every projectile that came his way.

"BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!"

The ice shards and arrows shattered against his knuckles.

"Damn it! He's too fast! Change formation!"

Their wolves began moving in tight, overlapping circles, attacking from all directions at once.

Vio punched right—

"BOOM!"

He spun, landing an upward strike on an arrow falling from above—

"BOOM!"

One leg lifted, dodging an arrow aimed at his ankle, while the other knee shot up, crushing an ice shard targeting his shoulder.

"BOOM!"

His torso bent back, arms twisting into position—one blocking, the other striking—two arrows shattered at the same time.

"Damn it!" The soldiers gritted their teeth in frustration.

No matter how much they changed their attack patterns, nothing touched him.

Vio had put all his points into speed and perception.

Agility: 89

Perception: 82

(Available points to distribute: 0)

He had more than enough strength.

What he lacked before was speed and reaction time—now, had both.

A warning not to engage him had been sent.

They knew reinforcements wouldn't arrive—the Furious Night was about to begin.

Sweat dripped down their faces.

Vio stood, spreading his arms wide, as if he said, "Do you have more?"

"No, really—do you have more?" Vio said, facial muscles about to tear from the wideness of his smile.

The soldiers ground their teeth in rage, veins bulging across their foreheads.

"Alright then, pardon me, gentlemen," Vio said, launching himself like an arrow at one of them.

Exhausted, their reaction was slower than usual, but it was still enough—one gust of wind sent Vio flying back.

Yet strangely, Vio didn't stop.

He kept coming at them, again and again, trying to get close—each time, he was blown away.

When there were no trees or rocks left for him to use, they finally understood his strategy—Vio was fighting, but at the same time, he was trying to mount one of their wolves to escape.

But their situation wasn't good either.

They had burned through too much energy, barely managing to push him back in the final moments.

Then—the sun disappeared, and the dense fog rolled in, marking the start of the Furious Night.

Everyone smiled, even Vio.

"Hahahaha!" They all laughed—and so did Vio.

"Is he an idiot?"

"I don't think he understands our language. The villagers said he doesn't talk at all."

"He probably hasn't realized what's happening."

A powerful wind suddenly whipped across their bodies, forcing them to stop playing.

They reached into their pockets, expecting to pull out their tents—only to freeze in horror.

Their eyes darted around, faces filled with panic.

Then, as one, they turned to Vio—only to see him holding several white fabrics—their tents.

He had stolen them.

While they had been worn out, too focused on avoiding his punches, his only goal had been to take their tents from inside their clothes.

"Looking for these?" Vio asked, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

"You idiot! You don't even know how to use them! We'll all die!"

Vio didn't understand—and he didn't need to.

[Temperature drop detected.]

"Good Night," Vio said the moment heard the notification he had been waiting for.

Then, he gave a mental command—

'Teleport to the Eye.'

[Item 'Teleport to Eye' used.]

Suddenly, Vio vanished before their eyes, the tents still in his hands.

Their faces went pale, and their bodies began to tremble.

The howling winds mixed with their panicked screams—until silence fell.

Their frozen bodies stood motionless, like statues trapped in ice.

At the same time, Vio stood atop the pillar, which radiated protective energy over the village he had been in just moments ago.

"Isn't this beautiful? This is how you clear the village from soldiers—hahaha!" Vio laughed, enjoying the sight of the thick fog swirling beyond the barrier.
