Spain's golden light bathed the hillside in a false calm. Han Solo and Gisele Yashar stood on the edge of a dusty overlook, staring down at a remote transport depot where Owen Shaw's network was rumored to be collecting a final component for the Nightshade device. Shepherd Fox monitored the perimeter from a nearby hill, Lockdown cloaked in a digital shimmer a few hundred meters behind.
"Looks quiet," Gisele murmured.
"Too quiet," Han replied, adjusting his scope.
The two had been tracking one of Shaw's tech mules. Word from Roman back in London was that Shaw was shifting base, prepping something massive.
Gisele flipped out a small data pad, linked to the crew's network. "Intel says the package is in that armored truck. If we hit it now—"
A burst of gunfire shattered the stillness. Black SUVs roared out from hidden side roads, spraying bullets and cutting off their retreat. Shaw's men had baited them.
"Go loud!" Han shouted, diving for cover as Gisele returned fire.
Shepherd's voice came through their comms. "On it."
The air shimmered as Lockdown activated, its plating shifting into a menacing matte-black pursuit car. It launched off the hillside, engines snarling, and slammed through one of the enemy vehicles before deploying non-lethal sonic rounds to scatter foot soldiers.
Han and Gisele used the chaos to take cover behind Lockdown. "You're late," Han said.
"Traffic," Shepherd replied, smirking as he fired a compact EMP charge at the armored truck's engine block. The vehicle screeched to a halt, power flickering. They retrieved the component and exfiltrated—barely.
Meanwhile, in London, Dom, Brian, Tej, Roman, and Hobbs pored over blueprints of the NATO base that Shaw was targeting.
"He's going to hit the convoy," Hobbs said. "Transporting a guidance chip that links to the Nightshade device."
Dom's jaw tightened. "And Letty?"
"She'll be there."
Silence fell. Brian glanced over at Shepherd, who leaned on the wall near Lockdown's recharging dock. "You think you can intercept him?"
Shepherd nodded. "I'll shadow their route. But if Shaw's crew has a flip car and Letty's driving, this won't be a clean op."
The Highway Ambush
On a wide Spanish highway, the NATO convoy rumbled forward. Armored transports, military escorts, and surveillance drones hung above like silent sentinels.
Suddenly, from the sides of the hills, Shaw's team struck.
Boom.
Explosives flipped one of the military vans like a toy. The flip car roared in, sending vehicles flying. Letty drifted in a heavily modified rally car, taking precise shots at tires and turrets, disabling defenses.
From the rear, Dom's crew moved in: Dom in his Charger, Brian in the Skyline, Tej and Roman flanking them. Shepherd stayed high, using Lockdown's onboard radar to watch for traps.
"There," Tej called. "The tank!"
One of Shaw's trucks transformed—unfolding into a military-grade tank, rumbling over cars like toys. Civilians screamed and fled as it rolled onto the main highway.
"Shepherd," Dom barked over comms, "now would be a good time to even the odds."
"Already on it."
Lockdown screeched down from an off-ramp, intercepting the tank's path. While it couldn't match the tank's mass, its hyper-accelerated systems distracted Shaw's crew long enough for Dom and Brian to coordinate.
Tej and Roman, using winches and cables, hooked their vehicles to the tank's treads. At high speeds, the added drag pulled the machine slightly off-balance.
Letty fought Dom on the hood of a crashing SUV. He refused to hit her. "You remember me, don't you?" he pleaded.
"Why do I feel like I do?" she shouted, before being flung free.
Dom dove after her mid-air, wrapping her in his arms as the car behind exploded in a fireball. They crashed into the windshield of a nearby car—but survived.
The tank jackknifed and flipped into a nearby barrier as Roman yanked the final tether.
The highway was a mess of wrecked cars and injured soldiers.
Shaw was captured… for now.
The Interrogation
Back at their base, Shaw sat in cuffs, bloodied but grinning. "You think this is over?" he hissed. "Check your priorities, Toretto."
"What does that mean?" Dom demanded.
"Shepherd," Brian said quietly, stepping aside to show a live feed Hobbs had just received. Mia, Brian's wife, had been kidnapped.
Shaw's men had planned everything.
Dom clenched his fists. Letty, watching from a corner, looked conflicted.
Later That Night
Dom sat alone, holding an old photo of Letty. She entered the room.
"I still don't remember everything," she said. "But I remember the way you looked at me… even back then."
Dom looked up. "Then you remember enough."
They sat in silence.
Elsewhere, Shepherd walked with Lockdown beside him in a dark garage.
"That tank op drained us," Lockdown said via AI. "The Rift Core's readings are erratic."
"I know," Shepherd said. "But this universe is stabilizing. Soon, we'll be ready for the next step."
"Will you tell them the truth?" Lockdown asked.
"No," Shepherd said. "Not yet."
