Back then, I was just an idiot Gillian, huge and clueless, trying to sneak around like I had a plan.
Turns out she survived too — and got stronger.
Now, the same woman stood before me again. But this time... she was a Vasto Lorde.
Her presence alone bent the night like she owned it.
Her sharp mask now smoother, fiercer, more complete.
Her cold aura felt like the edge of a blade pressing against my massive chest.
She tilted her head, eyes glowing faintly beneath that mask.
"Tell me," she said — her voice low, serious, cutting through the silence. "What is your name?"
I blinked.
"GRRUAAH?"

She narrowed her eyes, like she understood anyway.
Because names meant something to her — but she could tell by my guttural roar and wild stance that I was different. Not just another hollow with a label.
A moment passed, thick and heavy.
Then she gave a sharp nod.
"You're the idiot Gillian who keeps surviving, aren't you?"
I gave a proud roar.
"GRUAARRR!"
('That's me!')
She smiled — or maybe it was a smirk under the mask.
"Most would have died long ago. You've got some strange luck… or stubbornness."
I shrugged with a giant claw.
"GRUAAH."
('Neither. Just stupid.')
She laughed softly — a sound almost too human to come from a Vasto Lorde.
For the first time, it didn't feel like I was facing a killer.
It felt like I was facing... someone who got me.
We stood in the endless night, two creatures from the same dead world, bound by chaos and chance.
She cocked her head.
"Will you tell me your name someday?"
I looked up at the dark sky, letting out a low, thoughtful rumble.
"GRUAAAHH..."
('Maybe when I stop being an idiot.')
She nodded again and stepped back into the shadows, disappearing like a ghost riding the desert wind.
