Chapter 78 - 78

Wu Xiaomin stormed into a quiet office in the Security Department, her presence unchallenged. Few dared cross the infamous "Female Tyrant." With a bang, she kicked the door open—her usual method of entry.

The spacious, bright office held a desk with two phones and a sofa set, exuding serene simplicity. Behind the desk sat a graceful figure, unfazed by the explosive intrusion, as if such chaos was routine. She was young, around twenty-four or twenty-five, with a lithe frame and a face as pure as snow—sacred, untouchable. This was Hua Yunyue, the "Fairy of the Military," one of the capital's four renowned beauties.

From the enigmatic Xu Luoyan to the haughty Song Yingfei, the gentle Ye Qingcheng, and now the frostily radiant Hua Yunyue, these women were the capital's most captivating sights. Wu Xiaomin's mission here was clear: enlist Hua Yunyue's help. Lei Qiuping had let slip that Lei Zhengyang's weakness was his self-proclaimed charm—his eyes glued to any stunning woman. Wu Xiaomin had a plan to exploit that.

"Junior Sister, this is my third door this month," Hua Yunyue said without looking up, her voice calm. "Planning to make me replace a fourth?" Only her bold senior sister would barge in like this.

Wu Xiaomin, oblivious to her fault, rushed forward. "Junior Sister, I'm in a pinch—don't mind my haste!"

Every visit was an "emergency" in Wu Xiaomin's mind, though Hua Yunyue never saw these petty issues as urgent. Setting her pen down, she looked up, all business. "Fine, let's hear it. What's the crisis this time?"

Hua Yunyue's beauty was breathtaking—like spring itself blooming. A faint fragrance seemed to waft from her, stunning even Wu Xiaomin, a woman. "Junior Sister, you're getting more radiant by the day," she teased. "Wonder which lucky bastard gets to claim that charm."

Hua Yunyue's skin glowed, her eyes shimmered like autumn pools, her brows arched like distant hills, and her delicate nose begged for a kiss. Her lips, a thin line of red, pulsed with temptation. In her crisp military uniform, her figure was mesmerizing, impossible to resist. Yet few knew her slender hands were stained with blood. As a reserve member of the Blade Group, her kills for the nation were unavoidable.

"Really?" Hua Yunyue replied, unfazed by the flattery. She knew her allure and was immune to praise. "Hearing you say that, maybe love does make one glow. So, you're set on marrying into the Lei family?"

Wu Xiaomin blushed, shy but resolute. "Junior Sister, finding a man's tough. I've picky-picked for years, wasted time. Now I've found the right one—I'm marrying! If I don't, I'll be an old maid."

Hua Yunyue sighed softly. Her father, head of the Blade Group, opposed Wu Xiaomin marrying into any capital family, especially the Leis. The Blade Group was the nation's impartial sword, meant to stay neutral. But seeing her senior sister's blissful expression, Hua Yunyue held her tongue. She'd reviewed Lei Qiuping's file: a former playboy turned respectable colonel, his rank earned through skill, not just family ties. Most importantly, Wu Xiaomin loved him. What more could she say but offer blessings?

Defying her father's stance for the first time, Hua Yunyue said, "Senior Sister, tell me what you need. If I can help, I won't refuse."

Wu Xiaomin grabbed her arm, thrilled. "I knew you're the best! With you, that kid's as good as caught!"

Hua Yunyue winced. "Hold on, Senior Sister. What's the plan? I'm not breaking any rules."

"Rules? Do I look like a rule-breaker?" Wu Xiaomin huffed. "Here's the deal. The Military Commission's cutting two of the six military districts, based on the year-end strength contest. My guy's at the Fifth District, but his team's a mess—fancy but flimsy. No way they'll win. So…"

She rambled on, Hua Yunyue listening silently. When Wu Xiaomin finished, she asked, "Junior Sister, what do you think? Can we handle him?"

Hua Yunyue's scalp tingled. Only her audacious senior sister would concoct such a scheme—using her, a major general, to seduce a playboy with a beauty trap. It was absurd. Yet, she admired Wu Xiaomin's loyalty, already tilting toward the Lei family before even marrying in. The Fifth District's fate didn't affect Hua Yunyue, but with her sister's plea, she had to act.

"Senior Sister, a beauty trap? You've got some nerve," she said, half-laughing. "If my dad finds out, he'll blow a gasket. I'm not risking it. It's simpler—I'll send two top-tier instructors. If they focus, the Fifth District won't rank last."

Wu Xiaomin waved it off. "Junior Sister, you don't get it. Three months ago, Qiuping was all flash, no substance. Now? He's a true-energy master. Three months! That's Lei Zhengyang's doing. Get him to the Fifth District, and he'll forge a killer team—maybe even take first!"

"Your instructors are fine, but honestly, I'd do better myself," she added, smirking, never mincing words around Hua Yunyue.

"Oh?" Hua Yunyue's interest piqued. "You mean Lei Zhengyang? Lei Chunping's third son?"

"Of course! There's no other Lei Zhengyang in the capital."

Hua Yunyue's lips curved, her smile a burst of radiant charm, like a hundred flowers blooming. "If it's him, I'm intrigued. Set up a meeting. If he's the real deal, I might just play the beauty card."

Wu Xiaomin clapped the desk, ecstatic. "Done! I'll arrange it and call you later. With you in, that kid's toast!" She bolted out, leaving Hua Yunyue in quiet thought.

Moments later, Hua Yunyue opened a drawer, pulling out a top-secret Blade Group file. The first page featured Lei Zhengyang—a one-inch photo, his face tinged with decadence. The capital knew him as a brawling, womanizing playboy, but this dossier demanded a top-level audit by Blade Group members. Why? Hua Yunyue didn't know, and no one would explain. Her job was to execute.

This was her chance to test him. His identity—grandson of Lei Yunbao—shielded him. No one dared touch the old man's kin with illegal detainment, not even her father. Though her father stayed neutral, skirting core power, Wu Xiaomin's tie to the Lei family was shifting things. Hua Yunyue couldn't help but marvel at fate—her sister could've loved anyone, yet chose a Lei. Divine will?

She dialed the red secure line. A stern, familiar voice answered. "Dad, Senior Sister came to me. I'm meeting Lei Zhengyang."

"Xiaoyue, good timing. His file's secrecy level just jumped again—Old Chief's orders. The audit must be completed ASAP. This is critical."

"Dad, I don't understand."

"You don't need to. Just verify him. I need one answer: is he Lei Zhengyang, or not? Clear?"

Hua Yunyue sighed softly. "Got it, Dad."
