Chapter 60 - Chapter 60 - Pitying Someone is One Thing, Beating them is Another Matter

"Ah, I should be the one apologizing." Luo Bai's gaze softened with a hint of pity, "I summoned it in the middle column."

The opponent's concern with the column likely meant they were using a Deck along the lines of or .

It could also that she simply needs to know the monster's position. If she has Link Monsters, the placement is crucial, as many effects are related to the arrow directions.

"Hmm... Chain, I discard from my hand to negate Merrli's effect." Bai Yun pondered for a moment and sent a card from her hand to the Graveyard.

(Luo Bai: Give me back my pity!)

However, just as she sent the card to the Graveyard, the AI referee issued consecutive alerts.

[INCORRECT OPERATION]

[DOES NOT MEET CARD USAGE TIMING]

In KC events or Duelist Leagues, three incorrect operations will result in an automatic loss.

"Ah, I discarded the wrong card."

Bai Yun, flustered, took the card from the Graveyard back into her hand, nervously flicking through the other four cards.

"Hmm... It's this one."

She softly said, raising a confident smile as she accurately sent to the Graveyard to negate Luo Bai's only play point,.

With his only play point negated, Luo Bai didn't show much anger, remaining completely indifferent.

(Fuuu... Yep, I ain't going to rage~~ It's fine after all~~ Even in her turn~~ I can still crush her!)

"A blind duelist huh..."

He muttered softly, glancing at the exquisite card artwork of the Magic Cards in his hand, feeling a strange, indescribable emotion.

On Earth, he had never considered such a thing possible before. Even though she couldn't see the cards, she could still persist in playing.

He had a strong impulse to just concede.

However...

The greatest respect for a duelist is always to give it their all against them!

"I set a back row card to my right-most column and end this turn."

Luo Bai announced the column declaration proactively.

First turn: Front 1, Back 1, Hand 3, LP: 4000.

"My turn, draw." Bai Yun said calmly.

"Standby, Main."

Her fingertips moved back and forth among the cards, using the subtle differences to identify them.

"I Summon ."

(Yep, that's definitely a girl, those who claim that's a cross-dressing dude are just heretics!)

As she spoke, a cyberpunk-styled cross-dressing girl appeared in front of her.

It was a simple statement, but it stirred up great waves in Luo Bai's heart, leaving him in awe.

"Amazing, Ze Amin is here too."

P.U.N.K Deck involves quite a bit of maneuvering; isn't this a bit too much of a burden for a blind person?

It's not like Numerons that even a cat could play.

"I pay 600 LP to activate Ze Amin's effect..." Bai Yun furrowed her brow, clutching her chest and hunching over, with a pained expression as if she had a pain-sensing attached to her, "...and add a "P.U.N.K." monster other than herself."

LP: 4000 -> 3400

Luo Bai's pupils narrowed and he said: "Chain, I activate 's effect to Special Summon her and send 3 cards from the Deck to the graveyard."

Considering that she may have in her hand, she didn't use to negate Ze Amin.

Chain resolved, Havnis sent 3 cards to the graveyard: , and .

retrieves .

"A card sent to the graveyard triggered, Scheiren's effect activates, I return the materials including this card from the field, hand, and graveyard to the Deck to perform a Fusion Summon."

A red light flashed across the opponent's field, indicating a response.

"Tearlaments... A Deck I haven't heard about before..." Bai Yun murmured, clutching her cards tightly, without interrupting the effect.

"Chain! C2, I discard to activate its effect. For each Special Summon you make this turn, I draw a card." Seeing her hesitant reaction, Luo Bai guessed she might have and was trying to bait it out.

"What!?" Bai Yun was clearly shocked by this effect and weakly asked, "Is there a limit to the number of cards drawn?"

Luo Bai replied expressionlessly: "No limit, until I've drawn my entire deck."

Hiss...

"What a terrifying effect..." Bai Yun took a deep breath and sighed, "Chain, C3, I activate , to negate and banish ."

As a player, she knew how many times she would Special Summon in a turn, and definitely couldn't be allowed through. That's no different from allowing her opponent to draw as she pleased.

However, as Luo Bai expected, was successfully baited out.

Luo Bai smiled faintly: "C4, banish to return from the graveyard to the Deck."

"Hm? What does this mean?" Bai Yun didn't immediately understand the meaning of his actions.

"Hmm... It means..." Luo Bai explained, "Since has left the graveyard, your has lost its target."

"Ah?"

Bai Yun looked stunned, feeling like she had been taught a lesson.

Luo Bai was used to this kind "Ah?" from Biantana people and continued his operations methodically.

"Chain resolves, I return and the on the field to the Deck, Fusion Summon ."

"With her Special Summon, Kitkallos's effect activates, I send from the Deck to the graveyard."

"Upon being sent to the graveyard, 's effect activates! I return her and to the Deck to Fusion Summon ."

descended with a sword, her form flowing like waves, with water droplets shimmering with a rainbow of colors, waves gently undulating beneath her feet. She wore a silver-blue battle robe adorned with tassels, her eyes deep like the ocean, exuding a mysterious and alluring aura.

"All right, you can make your move now," Luo Bai said leisurely.

"R- Right." Bai Yun, seemingly having just woken up, slightly tilted her head with a weak tone, "It's... It's currently my turn."

"Hmm..."

Her thumb gently caressed the cards, as if stroking a lover.

The delicate touch allowed her to feel the texture and shape of each card, and of course, reach for the voices of the Kas.

Bai Yun smiled slightly and said, "I send

Luo Bai thought for a moment and decided not to activate Rulkallos' effect.

Foxy Tune's effect is activated from the Graveyard. Since it doesn't destroy, it doesn't trigger Rulkallos' subsequent card-sending effect. Additionally, the sending of cards by Foxy Tune is part of the effect, not the cost. If it's negated, the subsequent sending of cards doesn't need to be executed.

"I Special Summon ."

's effect triggered, Luo Bai draws one.

"I pay 600 LP to activate Sharakusai's effect..."

LP: 3400 -> 2800

Before Bai Yun could explain the effect, Luo Bai interrupted: "I activate my set card , I negate 's effect, then send to the graveyard..."

"Kitkallos' effect activates, I send 5 cards from the top of my Deck to the graveyard."

Bang, bang, bang! Five cards were sent to the graveyard.

Hearing this devilish noise, Bai Yun pouted, and with a sense of despair, complained, "Not again..."

"Send, activate, send, activate..."

"Are you even going to let me play..."

T/N: P.U.N.K. cards are apparently guys because before 1948, Noh theater was generally regarded to be only for men. It wasn't after that where women were finally allowed to partake in the dance. While that could mean Ze Amin(and the others) is a female, there are some pieces of evidence that leads to Ze Amin being a man. First, Kanze Motokiyo aka Zeami, the character he's based on, himself was a man, and is the entire reference for the card. Second, the official TCG Twitter has confirmed this as they used He/Him for Ze Amin's pronouns.

That said, this world isn't Biantana. Kind of a spoiler for future chapters, but the common sense in Biantana is that guys use Main Decks with male characters and girls use Main Decks with female characters. It's so that they could resonate with them and reach Epic rank. An exception to this are those without defined genders, like Yilan and her Blue Eyes. BEWD technically is a girl according to anime lore, but BEWD lore isn't even explored here. They're just seen as powerful dragons of mass destruction. This is why Yu'er was confused when Luo Bai has an Epic . That said, there are apparently cases where duelists use opposite gender Decks and could resonate with them.

Anyhow, this was the case with Bai Yun and the P.U.N.K.s, as Bai Yun refers to Ze Amin as "she". Also, in the sentence "As she spoke, a cyberpunk-styled cross-dressing girl appeared in front of her", the "girl" part was clearly stated in the original.
