After all, he had first met that person in this small town. But now, asking her felt like he was just overthinking things.
"You're not her," he said flatly, brushing the thought away.
"Not who?" Rachel's eyes flashed with confusion.
Just then, the restaurant owner brought out their dishes. Garrett Vincent said, "Alright, let's eat. Do you want something to drink?"
Rachel remembered the time she got drunk in front of Jeffrey and immediately shook her head.
"No, I'll just have a soft drink."
Garrett then asked the owner to bring over two bottles of soda.
"You don't drink either?" she raised an eyebrow.
"I have to drive later, so I'll skip the alcohol," he replied.
Her expression suddenly dimmed.
She was reminded of that car accident that got her sent to prison for drunk driving, even though she hadn't been drinking at all!
