The villagers looked at him, shocked. A warrior like him, who was responsible for the security of the whole village, had acrophobia?
He was afraid of heights.
"Do the Chief know about this?"
"If not, we need to tell The Chief about this when the Chief comes out of seculsion."
"Yeah! We cannot let such a person be responsible for the security of the whole village and us."
Suddenly, someone asked a question. When the villagers heard it, they all got silent and nervous.
"What-what about that man?"
That man was oviously refering Xian Li as 'that man'.
Xian Li, who had stopped the 'captain' from falling, saving him, was silently listening to their chit-chat. While he looked like he was listening to them, he was actually thinking about what he needs to do for getting back to The Immortal Realm.
It may seem that he could just cultivate it back to the Immortal Realm. But this was not the case because when he mysteriously came out of the prison at the heart of The Celestial Blade, he was, somehow, unable to cultivate.
If it was any other person, he/she would have long been out of spiritual energy and returned to being an ordinary person. But in Xian Li's case, their were two reasons why he had not run out of spiritual enegy-
1. His reserves were enough for him to use most of the techniques beside the moves of The Heaven Piercer, for almost 20 years. If he used The Heaven Piercer, his spiritual energy would not last much long.
2. He had found a secret technique in a ruin of some AncientImmortal which, although slowly but steadily, replenished the spiritual energy as long as one was alive and breathing.
Only because of these, he was able to survive for this long.
He was taken out of his deep thought when he heard someone talking about him. He naturally knew that 'that man' was him.
When he heard him, he calmly said,
"Take me to your Chief. I want meet him"
"Oh~~ Who want to meet me?"
Just then, a cool voice was heard and the villagers turned towards the direction of the voice and respectfully said,
"Chief!"
When Xian Li heard the voice, he was amazed as it was the voice of a girl, not 'him'.
Hearing the voice, the face of the captain, who was lying on the groung, shivering and panting heavily, lit up.
"Chief!! Please help me! A intruder have entered the village! Please save the village!"
He pleaded like a cry baby in front of the Chief.
A little girl who looked like 10 came from behind the crowd. Xian Li was genuiely surprised by this. While it was not rare to see women Chiefs in The Immortal Realm or even Mortal Realm, nobody was this young.
But then he suddenly sensed something in tht girl Chief. He noticed that she was not a human but something else. She was...
She was a Phoenix!!
No! She was a half-blooded Phoenix.
She was half Phoenix and half Human. No wonder, she could completely hide her Phoenix aura.
While Phoenixes could easily transform into humans, just like dragons, they still retained some of their aura no matter how hard they tried.
Of Course, there were some phoenixes who could completely hide thair aura when transformed into humans, but they were very rare and usually held high positions in the Phoenix clans and were very strong.
