Chapter 88 - HHES: Chapter 88

Chrollo pushed open the door. Neon, idly scrolling through her phone, looked up.

"Huh? Who are you?" she asked.

Neon, lying down, looked exactly like her picture.

Chrollo stepped closer, smiling. "Miss Neon."

His deceptive smile made Neon see him as kind. His age also gave her a different feeling. She didn't react to his sudden appearance.

Perhaps she'd never imagined a stranger could approach so easily, being constantly protected.

Chrollo, acting as a bodyguard, quickly steered the conversation towards divination. Neon offered to do a reading for him.

Following Neon's instructions, Chrollo gave her his information. Neon picked up her pen and began the divination. The Angel's Automatic Notebook rapidly wrote. Lines of prophetic text appeared.

Neon smiled. "Here you go! The beginning is about your past; the rest is about the next two weeks."

She handed the results to Chrollo, who took them.

Over ten minutes passed.

BANG!!! The door was kicked open.

"Leader! Leaving me to date a little girl? That's hurtful!" Hisoka said, his killing intent making the room colder.

Hisoka leaned against the door, looking at Chrollo. Neon was startled, staring at Hisoka. Chrollo turned to Hisoka. The two outside had disappeared.

"I see. I felt something strange entering the hotel. This was a trap!" Hisoka said, not speaking but calmly looking at Chrollo. His killing intent was anything but calm.

"Are you a traitor, Hisoka?" Chrollo asked.

"Who knows? Maybe. But I joined the Troupe to duel you, Leader."

"Duel? Alright. Let's go," Chrollo said, discreetly pocketing the divination without looking at it. He headed for the door.

"Where?" Hisoka asked.

Chrollo said, "The rooftop."

Leaving, Hisoka glanced at the terrified Neon. She was an interesting toy, but lacked fighting ability. It was a shame; her ability was interesting.

On the rooftop, Chrollo stood with his hands in his pockets, looking into the distance. Footsteps approached. Hisoka walked up the stairs, hands on his hips, fixing his hair.

"Why the rooftop?" Hisoka asked.

Chrollo pointed. "That's the underground auction."

"Yes."

"The Flame Kid's Ken is gone. He's probably fighting Nobunaga," Chrollo said.

"Maybe."

"A complete defeat," Chrollo sighed, turning to Hisoka. "What if I went to the auction?"

Hisoka shook his head. "No. Fortune-Telling is what you fear most, Leader."

Chrollo smiled faintly. "Yes, Fortune-Telling is terrifying. This situation is probably due to Neon's Fortune-Telling."

Hisoka's cards spun rapidly. "Leader, stop thinking about useless things. The Spider is finished."

Capturing three to exchange for Gon, Killua, and Leorio was Kurapika's plan. He chose Feitan, Shizuku, and Machi because they were close together and weaker. Their arm strength wouldn't be strong enough to break his chains.

As Nobunaga spoke, the three struggled, realizing they couldn't use Nen and couldn't break the chains.

'Why can't I use Nen?!' Feitan's eyes widened. Machi and Shizuku were equally surprised. Their mouths were covered, so they couldn't speak. They glared at Kurapika.

Thump! The three fell to the ground.

Kurapika held a knife to Feitan's throat. "They can't break free. You have to exchange, or your companions die."

Nobunaga grabbed Killua's throat, holding a knife to his eye. A cold chill enveloped Killua. His eyes widened.

'This guy doesn't care about his companions?' The knife was centimeters from Killua's eye. Nobunaga smiled coldly.

"Kid, you think we're fools? Exchanging hostages is impossible."

Nobunaga was about to stab Killua's eye. Time seemed to slow. Killua watched the blade approach, unable to escape. His body felt cold and numb.

'No... no...' Whum! Terrifying Nen erupted from Killua. His hands became blades, tearing at Nobunaga's arms.

"Resistance is futile!" Nobunaga said. Their Nen levels were different; Killua's attack was useless. His resistance only made Nobunaga faster. The blade was five millimeters from Killua's eye. Killua's eyes darkened.

Crack crack! The building's glass shattered.

CLANG!!! Red light struck Nobunaga's blade, knocking it away. Nobunaga turned to see a figure in the air—Loki, in a white cloak with flickering flames, stepping through the air.

Boom! The glass shattered. Loki stepped from outside into the hall, flames burning on him. The flames subsided as he landed. The heat blew on Nobunaga, Phinks, and Machi. Machi's eyes flashed; her burn scars ached.

"That's the Flame Kid," Phinks said coldly.

Nobunaga put Killua down, his sword on Killua's shoulder, facing Loki. "You're the Flame Kid. You finally appeared." His voice was filled with killing intent.

Loki smiled faintly under their cold gazes.

"So eager to see me?"

"Yes. To send you to see Uvogin," Nobunaga said through gritted teeth.

"Not yet."
