Chapter 85 - HHES: Chapter 85

They knew tonight was dangerous, but they had to attend the auction. It was a matter of the mafia's pride.

Not attending would show they feared the Phantom Troupe. So, even facing death, they had to attend.

But as time passed, they grew restless. The auction hadn't started, and no news came from outside.

"What's the situation outside? When will the auction start?"

"Is the Phantom Troupe here?"

"Will the kid the Ten Dons hired handle the Troupe? Instead of relying on a kid, let's go fight them ourselves!"

"Give us weapons! If that kid can't handle the enemy, and they come in, do you want us to fight barehanded?!"

The auction organizers struggled to answer the bosses' questions.

Loki, focused on controlling his Ken, received a report from the Ten Dons' men. He needed to stop the commotion before it affected his plan.

With a grim face, Loki headed towards the auction hall upstairs.

As Loki moved, his Ken moved too. While it still covered the building, the defensive distance around the building decreased as the Ken moved towards the top floor.

The Phantom Troupe, preparing to move, saw the shrinking Ken.

Shizuku said, "The Ken is shrinking."

Feitan said, "No, the Flame Kid moved; the Ken moved with him. The size didn't change."

"I don't know what he's doing, but we can get closer without being detected," Machi said, looking at the others. "We split into ten groups and invade simultaneously, entering the building as quickly as possible."

'Splitting up!' Hisoka, at the back of the group, smiled slightly.

"Let's move!" "Scatter!"

The Troupe members vanished, heading in different directions.

At the top of the building, Loki stood outside the auction hall, hearing the commotion inside. He slowly opened the door.

Boom! The door opened, white light flooding the dark hall. Loki's slender figure appeared, his shadow stretching long down the stairs to the stage.

The hall fell silent the moment Loki entered. After a moment, someone frowned.

"You're the one the Ten Dons hired to deal with the Phantom Troupe?" he asked, doubting Loki's abilities.

"Kid, can you handle the Phantom Troupe? They're criminals; do you understand the danger?"

"Give us weapons! I don't want to rely on a kid for protection."

"The Ten Dons may believe in you, but we don't."

Loki took a step. Thump thump thump! His steps drew everyone's attention. The hall fell silent; only his footsteps were heard.

"Kid, you think you can handle the Phantom Troupe? Don't dream. Let us fight them!" a bald boss said, his voice booming, his red eyes fixed on Loki.

Loki's slender appearance wasn't intimidating. Relying on this kid for protection didn't inspire confidence. The boss's words excited the hundreds of mafia members.

Loki slowly raised his head, his eyes calmly scanning the hall, taking in everyone's expressions. His gaze finally settled on the bald boss.

"Fifteen seconds!" Loki said, a faint smile appearing. "To deal with all of you, I only need fifteen seconds."

Everyone's movements stopped for a second. Then, they raged.

"Fifteen seconds? Joke! Kid, even if the Ten Dons believe in you, don't underestimate us."

"Hmph! I didn't reach my position without fighting! Don't be arrogant, talking about fifteen seconds!"

Loki's eyes narrowed; a cold wind enveloped the hall—killing intent, terrifying killing intent! Whum! The killing intent exploded, creating invisible waves that spread in all directions, engulfing the hall in less than a second.

The enraged mafia members turned pale. Loki's smiling face was now shadowed, like a demon's smile.

Drip! A drop of sweat rolled down the bald boss's face. He felt an invisible hand squeezing him, making it hard to breathe.

'My body... I can't move...'

Many mafia members guarded the building's entrances, fifty meters away. The Troupe members, entering Loki's Ken, rushed towards the building from nine different directions.

One hundred meters was covered in seconds.

Swish! A dark shadow dashed past a group of mafia guards. In an instant, several guards fell, blood flowing from neck wounds. Feitan's figure flashed past.

Simultaneously, Machi, Nobunaga, Franklin, and others also charged towards the building.

Inside, Loki told Kurapika, Gon, and the others that the Phantom Troupe had arrived.

"Gon, Killua, Leorio, the Phantom Troupe is here. Prepare."

The four on the third floor immediately tensed up. Killua looked at the traps on the floor. "Kurapika, will these stop them?"

Kurapika shook his head. "No. But they'll buy us time."

The floor was dark, filled with dummies with lights and spikes. Without Nen defense, even the Troupe would be injured.

Gon and the others wore night vision goggles. Every floor had traps to slow the Troupe down. The goal was to buy time.

The building was about two hundred meters tall, with over sixty floors. Even if they only delayed them for a few seconds per floor, reaching Loki on the sixty-fourth floor from the third would take time.
