"Ok, I couldn't be bothered with what you three want here so scram!" Kyle addressed the three to which an irritated look washed up on Kevin's face.
"Who do you think you are for bossing us around like that?! Not to mention it's not like you own the park or anything?" Kyle was pleased when he saw how agitated Kevin was.
Most of the time he would like to under his skin and despite the two telling Kevin about this, he would immediately forget the mm moment he came across Kyle.
"My father is the mayor it the town so I do in a way own this park. Or do you have something to do about it?" Kyle's eyes landed on Kevin who seemed on the brink of losing it.
"It's not worth it, let's just go somewhere else." Andrew commented as he made his way towards Kevin, ready to haul him away from Kyle's presence. Kevin however brushed off the hand that was placed on him as he looked at Kyle.
"Yeah, given that you were the reason that I was suspended from participating in any clubs and games in school, I do have a bone to pick with you." Kyle let off a small scoff as he heard this.
"You really shouldn't have broken into the trophy room then, huh?" Kevin was baffled a couple of days ago when he was summoned by the principal to his office.
He had a little bit of a history with the principal thanks to his antics and throes he had with Kyle and other kids. What added more to his shock was that he was presumed to have broken into the trophy room in an attempt to steal some of the club trophies.
There were no cameras however his bag was found at the scene of where it occurred. At the time he knew that he was innocent however he had no means of proving it but he could feel that Kyle was somehow behind it all.
Another kid walked up to Kyle, whispered in his ear and took his leave. Kyle's demeanor could be seen shift from amusement to intrigue as he lost all form of attention with Kevin.
"Nevermind you can have it, I have more important places to be." And with that h took his leave and left the park, his figure disappearing into the foliage. "Seems that we finally have it to ourselves."
Trevor remarked as he made his way to the climbing structure who was tailed by Andrew. Kevin however was still rooted in his position, his eyes looking in a certain direction.
"Kevin, just stop it. You already have enough problems with the school. There is no need to amplify it even worse." Trevor mused as he could already tell what Kevin was thinking about.
"If I can catch him saying that he was the one who framed me, I'd be allowed to go back into the football club. Do you know how much I have waited for this? And seeing it out of my reach pains me greatly."
The two however we not moved by his speech. "So are you going to help me or not with tailing him?" Kevin posed to which the two were not eager to embark on another journey.
"Kevin, the sun is already starting to set. If you want to go and explore then go but don't wander too far off into the woods." Andrew mused as his eyes locked with Kevin's. "What kind of friends are you even if you can't help me with something so simple?"
A disgruntled expression escaped Kevin's lips before he chased after Kyle. The two looked at each other as if wondering whether they would follow him or wait. "He needs to learn that what he's doing is a complete waste of time."
Trevor mused as they kept on playing. It wasn't long before the sun started to make its bold descent and with it, the two made their way back home. As soon as they left the park, they saw a figure they hadn't expected to see so soon.
He was covered in sweat and looked as if he was about to pass out any minute. He clutched his knees with his arms, his face looking down before looking at the two. Judging by the small scratches and dirt on his clothes, it was safe to say that he was knee deep into the forest.
"Hah!...You guys won't believe what I found..." Hus breathe was ragged as he was barely able to form a word without gasping in for air. "A valuable lesson which consists of you learning to not trail off into the woods."
Trevor sarcastically remarked as they waited for him to catch his breathe. "Dar from it, it would seem that Kyle and his friends actually have a club out in the woods...I couldn't afford to stick around for long but given how far off they are, they must be upto no good."
The two were momentarily shocked with what they heard. "So does this mean that you'll go there tomorrow given your stubbornness force us to come along with you?"
"You read my mind!" Kevin mused with a smile on his face however the two weren't all that invested. "Look Kevin, it already doesn't sound like a good idea to do something so dangerous and stupid like explore a house in the middle of nowhere."
"Not to mention how sure are you that Kyle isn't leading you into a trap? Seeing how he left, it was clear that he was playing with you thus I don't think that we should do this." Andrew added which seemed to rejuvenate Kevin.
"Because I was extra sneaky, with those hours I had used in watching spy movies, there was no way Kyle could know that I tailed him." His demeanor proud as the trio now started to make their way back home.
The two however were still not bought by it. "Just give up the idea of it all together, okay?" Trevor's tone coming off as a warning. "Oh, great and now you're patronizing me. To think that you were my friend to begin with!"
The two were aware of Kevin's antics thus they did not engage before Trevor headed home leaving the two making their way towards theirs. "Forget about Trevor, you'll still help me, right?"
"Kevin, Trevor does have a good point-" Raising his hand in annoyance, Kevin was done with the response that he got. "Ok! Just think about it okay and don't tell your mother."
He finished off before his figure headed towards his house. Andrew watched him walk away before he too made his way home.
"Andy, you're back. There should be some food in the fridge." He was greeted by the departure of his mother who was heading out. "Oh! And before I forget, we'll be going to grandma's the day after tomorrow."
"Chuu~"
A soft kiss landed on his forehead before her figure disappeared. This wasn't something new to him as his mother would have meetings late in the evening which would stretch into the night.
And with it his sleeping schedule has been a little haywire with it but this was usually during the holidays. Locking the door behind him, he made his way towards the fridge to see the said dinner that was prepared for him.
His face immediately lost it's vigour as he realized what it was. 'Rice salad.' His mother would have him eating healthy which he didn't mind but that didn't mean that he like it.
Warming it with the microwave, he crashed hard onto the sofa as he waited it to be ready, selecting through the various channels that would pick his interest before the sound of his dish was done.
It was now completely dark this munching on his food as he entertained himself was something he had grown accustomed to.
Instead of crashing on the couch like he usually would when his mother wasn't around, he made his way towards his bedroom.
He stayed blankly at the ceiling as he contemplated what Kevin had told him about. 'It would be a storm in my brain, my curiosity eating me alive not knowing what is in that house however on the other side, I also know that it's dangerous...'
A clear answer for Kevin's question failed to be presented in his mind. A part of him driven by curiosity to delve in while the other part controlled by fear knowing that it was dangerous and refrain from such an action.
Twisting and turning in his bed as he looked outside his window to see the faint lights of the city not that far off. He could also see Kevin's house from where he was however the image wasn't that clear.
The comfortable blankets making it hard for him to stay up and before he knew it, he was whisked away by sleep.
...
Waking up and hearing the sounds of noise coming from down stairs, he knew that his mother was back. After washing his face and sprucing his black hair, he made his way down to be greeted with a marvelous feats of a breakfast as his mother was waiting for him.
"Mom, let's say you are in a bind. Between a rock and a hard place. One choice being frisky and dangerous making you wary of making such a decision while the other safe but curiosity is eating you alive, what would you do?"
Lucy was taken aback by such a question. "I mean if it is certainly dangerous then it isn't worth taking. Why?" Andrew let out a nervous laugher as he heard this. "Just wondering about grandma's place is all given the dangerous paths and cliffs that there are there."
"Hmmm... That's why there is no need to go that far out into the thrill of danger." She mused as her eyes landed on Andrew's figure before shifting back to her meal.
"Thanks for the advice." After that, brushing his teeth followed and went outside to meet Kevin. He had already made up his mind with what he was going to tell him.
