"Hey! Wait a minute!"
A voice rang out, and a red figure leapt high into the air, landing in front.
The newcomer was a girl with chestnut-colored hair flowing freely, wearing bunny-eared hair accessories, a red one-piece skirt, knee-high boots, and a bow strapped to her waist.
She stretched her hand out to stop the blonde girl and a flying white creature.
"May the Wind God bless you, stranger!"
"I am Amber, a Scout from the Knights of Favonius."
"You're not a Mondstadt citizen, are you? Please state your identity immediately!"
The blonde girl looked at the roadblock Amber had created, a look of confusion crossing her face.
Her white companion, however, grumbled discontentedly, "Take it easy, she's Lumine, and I'm Paimon! We're not suspicious at all!"
"Suspicious people always say that," Amber said, folding her arms, casting a skeptical look at the two.
After some explanations, Amber finally believed that they meant no harm.
"I see," she nodded thoughtfully. "In that case, you should head into the city as soon as possible. Mondstadt is being plagued by a dragon disaster, and the outskirts are dangerous!"
Upon hearing "dragon disaster," Lumine thought of the giant dragon and the blue-haired boy they had encountered on the way and couldn't help but ask, "Dragon disaster?"
Amber explained the situation regarding the dragon disaster and invited them to the Adventurers' Guild in Mondstadt to learn more.
There, Lumine learned about Mondstadt's history, geography, and key figures.
Later, Amber took them to a high slope where she taught Lumine how to use the wind glider.
As Lumine practiced, the sky suddenly darkened, and the wind howled violently.
Suddenly, a colossal dragon appeared in the sky, radiating a greenish light. As it flapped its wings, it created massive tornadoes that surged toward Mondstadt.
…
"Is that the East Wind Dragon, Dvalin, one of the Four Winds Guardians?" Shajin said, calmly sipping his tea as he watched the flying dragon. There was a hint of sadness and regret in his tone. "It used to protect this land, but now it has become an enemy in the eyes of Mondstadt's people. It's quite tragic."
"Heh, Mondstadt people aren't good at anything else, but they're excellent at twisting the truth," Rosalyn sneered, her eyes filled with disdain. Her words were laced with mockery and contempt toward the people of Mondstadt.
The leisurely manner In which the two of them were behaving starkly contrasted with the chaos around them, where people were panicking and running for their lives. They seemed completely unaffected, as if they were watching a spectacle from afar.
At that moment, a gust of wind swept through, lifting Lumine into the air, throwing her around as she struggled to regain balance. The fierce wind made it hard for her to control her body.
Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice rang in Lumine's ear, and a powerful wind elemental force surged within her. Instinctively, she reached out with both hands, and wind elements gathered into multiple wind bullets, shooting down toward Dvalin below.
Wounded by the attack, Dvalin let out an enraged roar. It spread its enormous wings and charged toward the airborne Lumine.
However, just as Dvalin was about to reach her, a golden "Mora" shot up from the ground, striking Dvalin's lower jaw with pinpoint accuracy.
Howling in pain, Dvalin was forced to change its flight path and moved away from the skies above Mondstadt.
"Is there something special about that girl?" Rosalyn asked casually, seemingly uninterested.
"I just have a faint feeling about it," Shajin replied, finishing his tea in one gulp.
"Maybe she's just acting out of good intentions," he added with a playful tone.
…
A figure suddenly descended slowly from the sky. With wings on her back fluttering gently, she landed lightly on the ground. It was the blonde girl—Lumine.
Her clothes fluttered In the wind, almost blending with the surroundings.
Shajin watched as Lumine was surrounded by the members of the Knights of Favonius, slowly walking toward the headquarters.
"Lumine, are you okay?" Amber asked, her voice filled with concern.
"I'm fine," Lumine replied with a smile, her voice gentle and warm.
"But I think I saw a coin strike the dragon. What was that?"
A man suddenly approached with a serious expression on his face.
"Hello, I'm Kaeya, the Captain of the Knights' Cavalry." He introduced himself in a deep, commanding voice.
Upon hearing this, Lumine blinked in surprise.
"That must have been the work of the Twelfth Harbinger of the Fatui, the 'Gambler,'" Kaeya said, his tone grave.
"The Fatui? Harbinger?" Lumine blinked again, clearly unfamiliar with these terms, but she could sense the seriousness in Kaeya's voice.
"The Fatui is an organization from Snezhnaya, and they're the ruling force there, with the highest leader being the Cryo Archon, one of the Seven." Kaeya explained.
A woman In casual clothing, who had joined them, also spoke up.
"Captain, Kaeya! What are you doing here?!" Amber exclaimed.
"Don't mind the details too much," Kaeya shrugged.
"I was secretly observing the 'Gambler' and 'The Fair Lady,' but unfortunately, I didn't find any clues." Kaeya continued, a bit exasperated.
"'Gambler'? 'The Fair Lady'? Strange names," Paimon said curiously from the side.
"They aren't names, but codenames. The reason the Fatui can run rampant across the Seven Nations and threaten the Knights of Favonius is because of these twelve 'Harbingers,'" Kaeya explained, crossing his arms with a resigned look.
…
"Looks like we've seen enough of the excitement. It's time for us to take action, Rosalyn."
"Ah~" Rosalyn yawned and rubbed her eyes.
"You're right. I've been waiting for this moment for a while," she said, stretching.
"I'll go check out their movements. You start preparing for the 'diplomatic' efforts," Shajin said with a smile.
Rosalyn gave him a strange look. "You're not planning on slacking off, are you?"
"Hehe, of course not," Shajin chuckled nervously.
"I'm totally dedicated to her Majesty's grand cause!"
Rosalyn rolled her eyes, though she knew that the 'Gambler' was indeed quite reliable.
The two of them turned and left, their figures soon disappearing into the crowd.
Meanwhile, inside the Knights' headquarters, Lumine was explaining to Captain Jean and the others the entire encounter she had with Dvalin.
"I see…"
Captain Jean thought for a moment and said, "Thank you for your help, Traveler. But this situation might be more complicated than we think. The dragon disaster must be hiding a much larger conspiracy."
"I'm willing to help investigate," Lumine said without hesitation, her eyes filled with determination.
"Then I'll leave it to you, Traveler," Captain Jean said gratefully. She knew that Lumine had extraordinary abilities and courage.
Finally, after much discussion, everyone agreed to destroy three of the four abandoned temples that served as Dvalin's power sources in order to weaken it.
