Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: The Extraordinary Figures of the Qi Refinement Stage

Half a month later, the ground in a certain part of the hall shook violently, and two disheveled heads emerged, their eyes showing signs of fatigue. "Old Bull, get the spirit medicine, hurry!" "Moo!!" The big black bull leaped out of the tunnel and quickly headed towards the nanmu leaves. Roar! Roar! This beast reacted much faster than the White Shale Leopard, immediately sensing someone tampering with the nanmu leaves and turning back towards the hall. "Fireball Technique!" Chen Xun exclaimed, a rare seriousness flashing in his eyes as massive fireballs erupted, forming a gigantic wall of flames to block it. The beast let out a pained roar, but the blood-red hue in its eyes deepened, and a strange shield slowly began to isolate the sea of fire. "Damn it!" Chen Xun's pupils constricted as he continued to cast spells, turning his head to shout, "Old Bull, how's it going?" "Moo!" Roar! Roar! The beast suddenly burst forth from the flames, baring its teeth and lunging at Chen Xun, who raised a massive palm, ready to crush him into pieces! Suddenly, a gigantic figure sprang out, pushing Chen Xun back into the tunnel. Boom! Roar! A deafening explosion echoed throughout the tunnel, accompanied by the beast's unwilling howls. "Run, Old Bull." "Moo!" Chen Xun and the big black bull broke into a cold sweat, darting through the tunnel on their swords, as the ground behind them continued to collapse, revealing the beast's immense power. After they burst out of the tunnel and reached a safe spot, Chen Xun grumbled indignantly, "Damn it, if it weren't for that large group of cultivators outside, I would have dealt with that beast myself." "Moo~" The big black bull grinned, patting Chen Xun with its hoof, safety first.

Just as they were still lamenting about the beast, the time in the Southern Dipper Mountain secret realm had already passed halfway, and the scent of blood seemed to grow stronger. By a small stream, a dozen women were carefully gathering spirit herbs. Suddenly, dozens of people appeared, all wearing amused smiles; these women from the minor sects had their merits. The women were taken aback, recognizing their assailants as disciples of the Canghai Sect, one of the Ten Great Sects! "We didn't know you were here, fellow cultivators. We'll leave at once, we don't want any spirit herbs." A leading woman cupped her hands, her brows furrowed with determination. "Who decides what happens here, you or the Canghai Sect?!" a disciple of the Canghai Sect scoffed, exuding an air of superiority. "Brothers, you are disciples of a major sect; please don't make things difficult for us." "Hehe, but our hands are itching; we hope you junior sisters can entertain us." "You..." The leading woman exclaimed in anger, her companions brimming with fury, each brandishing their magical tools. "Kill!" One of them shouted, a cold smile creeping across his face. As soon as the words fell, chaos erupted by the stream, blood flowing and diluting in the water.

...In a high mountain, a lone rogue from a certain sect, clad in a black robe, revealed a set of black teeth, with several disciples of the Ten Great Sects lying dead on the ground, their deaths gruesome. ...In a vast marsh, bodies floated and swayed, a disciple of the Beast Taming Sect appeared indifferent, commanding a swarm of venomous insects. ...The slaughter in the Southern Dipper Mountain continued unabated; killing and looting thrived in this lawless land, and everyone was moving closer to the center, danger inching ever closer. Time slowly passed, and in the blink of an eye, Chen Xun and the big black bull had reached the fourth month in the Southern Dipper Mountain. Throughout their journey, they had grown considerably calmer; in the past month, they had witnessed too many instances of murder and treasure snatching, fellow disciples turning against each other, and colluding in depravity. When the constraints of rules vanished, the darkness of the cultivation world revealed itself.

At this moment, Chen Xun and the big black bull were resting against a tree when suddenly their ears perked up at the sound of many footsteps. Two figures were fleeing in disarray, their eyes filled with intense unwillingness and hatred. "Stop! If you run again, she might not survive! Are you really going to watch your junior sister die? Hahaha..." Laughter echoed behind them, seemingly mocking their plight. One of them hesitated, but the other merely shot him a glance and continued to flee, valuing his own life above all. "Senior Brother Ji... I'm sorry..." A weak voice came from a girl bound by silver ropes, clearly a magical tool. Chen Xun and the big black bull were both taken aback, their gazes snapping to her. Good heavens, she was indeed a disciple of the Wuyun Sect, and it was Ji Kun! "Thunder Gate, how can you, as one of the Ten Great Sects, resort to such despicable means?" Ji Kun trembled with rage; many of those present were at the tenth level of Qi Refinement, and he was no match for them. "I can hand over the spirit herbs, but you must release her first!" "In the cultivation world, the weak are prey to the strong; the strong are respected. Minor sects are still minor sects, unable to grasp this simple truth." "Hahaha..." The disciples of Thunder Gate laughed heartily, and one named Cao Chen stepped forward, exuding a powerful aura as he coldly stated, "Hand over the Yang Ginseng Lotus. How bold of you to dare steal under our noses." "Release her!" "Senior Brother Ji... don't worry about me," the junior sister cried out, writhing in distress. Slap! A palm struck her, causing her to spit blood and her hair to fall in disarray. Ji Kun held the Yang Ginseng Lotus, his expression cold as he spoke each word deliberately, "Release her, or you will get nothing. I can destroy it immediately." "Threatening us?" Cao Chen narrowed his eyes, his magical power surging, "How many lives do you have..." Suddenly, chaos erupted.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Two gusts of wind surged, accompanied by a deafening sonic boom, startling everyone from Thunder Gate into a state of shock, their hairs standing on end. What the hell was that! Cao Chen's face changed dramatically as a scarecrow suddenly appeared before him, their faces nearly touching. The figure wore a black hood, but his gaze was chilling... Boom! Boom! Boom! A massive hand came crashing down, and Cao Chen spat out a mouthful of blood, his neck pressed to the ground, the earth cracking open with countless fissures, debris flying everywhere. "Ah!!!" Cao Chen let out a muffled scream, his eye sockets bursting, feeling as if his internal organs were tearing apart, blood streaming from his seven orifices. A blazing wall of fire separated Ji Kun from all the disciples of Thunder Gate, and as the wall rose, the junior sister was thrown over. "Senior Brother!" "Junior Sister!" Ji Kun caught her in one swift motion, but she wept bitterly in his arms, while Ji Kun had no energy left to appreciate her beauty. On the other side of the sea of fire, he could no longer see clearly; his eyes filled with intense shock. A figure of such extraordinary strength in the Qi Refinement stage—who could it be...

As the wall of fire gradually dissipated, they finally saw the situation on the other side. Ji Kun's eyes trembled, a chilling sensation coursing through him, while the junior sister ceased her weeping, collapsing to the ground, her body limp. Their fear did not stem from the brutality of the battle, but from the eerie calmness; aside from the cracked ground, there was no trace of a fight, not even a body. "Instant kill... disciples of the Ten Great Sects were actually killed in an instant by two people." Ji Kun gasped for breath, realizing how small he was in the vastness of the world, "Junior Sister, let's go." "Senior Brother, who are they?" the junior sister hesitated, sensing they seemed to be there to save them. "I don't know. Don't harbor any illusions; we were just lucky this time." Ji Kun shook his head; how could he have the chance to know such extraordinary figures? The two supported each other and moved towards another location, seeking a place to quickly recover their magical power.
