Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

"Old sir, the certifications are correct. On behalf of the academy, I apologize for what happened just now!"

"You can rest assured and entrust these two children to me!"

Yu Xiaogang hadn't expected to stumble upon two students with Innate Full Spirit Power just like that. Overjoyed, his tone towards Grandpa Jack even became a few degrees more polite.

"Not at all, not at all, Grandmaster, you're too kind. Then, I'll have to trouble you with the children!"

Faced with a noble Spirit Master, Grandpa Jack was rather overwhelmed by the favor and quickly waved his hands.

"Shane, Tang San, you must be obedient and listen to your teachers at the academy. Grandpa will come to pick you up at the end of the semester!"

After a few more words of advice to the two kids, Grandpa Jack, seeing that it was still early, quickly started his journey back. After all, finding a lodge here for a night wouldn't be cheap.

After bidding farewell to the village chief, Shane and Tang San followed Yu Xiaogang into the academy. The gatekeepers didn't dare utter a single word.

"Teacher, thank you!"

Inside the academy, Shane, full of excitement, looked around in all directions and walked at the very front. Tang San, however, seemed to have hit it off with Yu Xiaogang and lagged behind with him.

"Teacher? I am no mere teacher. People in the academy address me as Grandmaster!"

Yu Xiaogang stood with his hands behind his back, chin tilted upwards, arrogantly correcting Tang San's mistake.

"As for you, Tang San, so young, yet your future potential is limitless!"

"Twin Martial Souls! That's a heaven-blessed talent even on the entire continent!"

Yu Xiaogang's eyes burned with fervor as he looked at Tang San, as if he had discovered a new "experimental guinea pig"!

At the same time, when the little runt heard his words, his pupils quaked – he was utterly astonished!

His father had warned him that the secret of his Twin Martial Souls must never be easily revealed to others. If discovered, he must kill them!

His Silent Sleeve Arrow was poised and ready; Tang San was already prepared to kill this "Flat-top" before him.

"Haha, no need to be nervous. You might be able to hide it from others, but you can't hide it from me, Yu Xiaogang!"

"I have spent my entire life researching Martial Soul theory, and now I have even pioneered the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls and…"

Yu Xiaogang rambled on and on, unable to stop once he started talking about his "great achievements."

Shane had no desire to get entangled in the troubles of these two. Leveraging his innocent boyish looks, he walked off into the distance and struck up a conversation with a pretty senior female student.

As for Flat-top's self-aggrandizement, it was completely unbearable to listen to, simply laughable!

However, Shane didn't believe it, but someone did!

The little runt listened with rapt attention. Through their questions and answers, he couldn't help but begin to feel a sense of respect, and was soon fooled by Yu Xiaogang's gimmicks.

"Grandmaster, a teacher for a day is a father for life! Please accept me as your disciple!"

Tang San took a step back, then knelt on both knees, kowtowing three times respectfully to Yu Xiaogang.

"Silly child, get up quickly! What are you kowtowing for?"

"From this day forward, you are my, Yu Xiaogang's, direct disciple!"

Flat-top grinned from ear to ear upon seeing this.

A Twin Martial Soul with Innate Full Spirit Power, something even a Titled Douluo might not be able to recruit, had actually fallen into his hands!

Hearing the loud laughter from behind, Shane knew the matter was settled.

"Little San, what are you doing?"

Shane ran back and saw Tang San kneeling on the ground, pretending he didn't know what was going on.

"Brother Shane, I just became Grandmaster's disciple!" the little runt explained with a smile, seemingly quite happy.

"Is that so? Well, congratulations then!"

Shane "sincerely" congratulated Tang San, but couldn't help thinking to himself…

If Tang Hao knew that his son, less than a day after leaving home, had kowtowed and acknowledged a new father figure, what kind of expression would he make?

"Teacher, although I have Innate Full Spirit Power, they all say Blue Silver Grass is a trash Martial Soul. Is that really true?"

Tang San stood up and asked another question that had been weighing on his mind.

"Hey, you can't say that. As your teacher, I have always believed!"

"There are no useless Martial Souls in this world, only useless Spirit Masters!"

Yu Xiaogang turned sideways, looked up at the sky, and delivered this sonorous and forceful statement, further convincing Tang San.

"Oh, right, your name is Shane, isn't it?"

Suddenly being called out, Shane had a bad feeling.

"That chip Martial Soul of yours has never appeared before. It should be a mutated Martial Soul, but to awaken with Innate Full Spirit Power, it must be extraordinary."

"So, are you willing to become my disciple? With my experience as a Master of Theory, perhaps I can help you uncover more of its secrets!"

Yu Xiaogang stroked his stubbled chin and said shamelessly.

Shane was a bit speechless. Taking in the little runt wasn't enough, now you want to get your hands on me too?

Alright, alright. Shane smiled faintly, then asked a question that struck right at the soul.

"Um, I'd like to ask, Grandmaster, what is your spirit power level?"

"Yes, Teacher! Your spirit power level must be very high, right?"

The little runt, hearing this, also looked curious. Since he was a Grandmaster, he naturally had to have matching strength!

"Th-this…"

Yu Xiaogang panicked. He panicked!

Tch, all talk and no action. Whether you're a mule or a horse, why don't you bring it out and show us?

Tang San didn't yet know what kind of fraud Yu Xiaogang was, but in Shane's eyes, his attribute data had long been laid bare!

[Target: Yu Xiaogang]

[Sex: Male]

[Martial Soul: Luo Sanpao]

[Spirit Power Level: 29 – Grandmaster]

He's almost fifty years old and not even Rank 30. Isn't that embarrassing!?

"My Martial Soul is somewhat special. I'll explain it to you in detail later."

Turning his back, Yu Xiaogang no longer dared to face the questioning gazes of Shane and Tang San, giving a perfunctory reply, his voice betraying his guilt.

Tang San didn't press further upon hearing this, but the smile on his face stiffened. It seemed his newly acknowledged father figure wasn't all that capable…

After this little interlude, Yu Xiaogang was too embarrassed to bring up the matter of taking Shane as a disciple again.

Quickening his pace, he escorted Shane and Tang San to the new student registration office and then left in a hurry, afraid that more tricky questions might pop up.

The two registered their information, received their school uniforms, and then left the administration office, planning to go to their dormitory to unpack and settle in first.

Since they came from the same village, they were coincidentally assigned to the same dormitory – Dorm Seven!

On the way, Shane and Tang San heard quite a few rumors and bits of gossip about Yu Xiaogang. Many legitimate teachers treated him as a joke, nothing more than a clown.

At first, when Tang San heard these things, his expression was a bit unnatural, but he gradually got used to it.

Of course, to put it another way, the last glimmer of hope in his heart had completely died…

Dorm Seven had the worst conditions among all the dormitories; it was specifically for work-study students.

However, it was a co-ed dorm here, so there were often unexpected delights.

The academy wasn't large. Before long, Shane and Tang San arrived at the entrance of Dorm Seven. The main door was wide open, and sounds of boisterous play and laughter drifted out from within.

Shane knew what was about to happen, so he deliberately walked behind Tang San.

The little runt knocked on the door, and instantly, all the children in the room turned their gazes towards him.

One of the older students looked at Tang San, who was covered in patches, and then swaggered straight over.

"Hey, you, new work-study student?"

"That's right. Hello everyone, I'm a new student who just enrolled today."

The money Tang Hao had scraped together by selling everything was only enough for a work-study student's fees, so Tang San was, in a way, a paying work-study student.

"My name is Wang Sheng, Martial Soul: Battle Tiger, and I'm the boss here! Kid, what's your name? And what's your Martial Soul?"

"My name is Tang San, Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass."

When those three words left his mouth, a burst of laughter erupted in the room.

"Could you please let me pass?"

Considering they would all be classmates in the future, Tang San endured it, forcing a friendly smile.

"Sorry, Little San-zi, unless you acknowledge me as your boss, you want to come in? Hmph hmph!"

Wang Sheng, relying on his older age, actually resorted to bullying.

Shane leaned against the doorframe, listening with interest. A situation like this didn't require him to step in yet.

Sure enough, the smile faded from Tang San's face, which instantly darkened!

"My name is Tang San, not Little San-zi!"
