After moment under the scorching hot sun, they found Elizabeth walking out of the cafeteria, with her head held high with all glory and beauty, "hey Eliza" Damien said, "oh hi" she said with a smile, "it's been a while we spoke, what you up to?" she said and asked, "yeah, can we ask you some few questions, it important", Brian said with a stern look, "okay sure" she answered, "we should head into the cafeteria first, then we talk" Damien suggested as they walked inside and made their way to a comfortable chair at the back. She sat in front of them, like an investigation session, her heart started beating rapidly, she could feel the tension in Brian eyes, they haven't been on good terms since after their last breakup, she thought it was about their past relationship until Damien changed her thoughts, "how much do you know about Principal K?", Damien asked, then it dawned on her that her secret has been revealed, Elizabeth sat still, her fingers trembling slightly as she took a short glance at their faces. Her once bright smile was gone, replaced by a dark, heavy silence.
"I'll confess it all," she finally said, her voice barely a whisper.
Brian leaned in; arms crossed on the table; he was hungry for the truth. Damien gave her space, but his eyes never left hers.
"I've known about the Blood Prophecy book since I was eight," she began. "Principal K, she's, my godmother. Not by blood, but by bond. She's protected my family for a very long time; she owns them, but I never knew how far she was willing to go until I started seeing visions. Warnings… of you, Damien."
"Warnings?" Damien repeated, his voice firm. She nodded. "You were in my dreams long before you arrived. In every single one… You were either the savior of Eri-doria or its destroyer." Brian scoffed. "That doesn't explain why you're so close to Principal K",
"She's been grooming me," Elizabeth admitted. "To become the vessel." Damien froze. "Vessel for what?"
"The demon that Lady Cassandra predicted before she died, and what she wrote in the book. Principal K thinks that I'm the host instead of you, the chaos can be contained. That's why she brought me here; she forced my parents to enroll me in this school. But something changed." Elizabeth explained. She looked directly at Damien. "Even the royals wanted the book" she added.
"When I met you, I felt it, like my fate wasn't set in stone anymore. I saw… another path."
Brian stood, stunned. "So, what now? Are you still working for her?" Elizabeth shook her head, tears forming. "No. I stopped. But she knows. She's watching us all even in the dark. Always."
Elizabeth grabbed Damien's arm. "Wait, before you go, there's something I need to give you. My grandmother was the twin sister of Cassandra, she goes by the name Sandra. I'm sure you have seen her in your dreams also. Damien nodded after a short silence. She also wrote a part of the prophecy. And she left me this piece of note in a box and instructed my dad to give me when I'm eight years old, before she passed away…", "wait hold up…this all means I'm your cousin right?, we are related by blood", Damien asked just to be sure, "yeah we are cousins, and this is just the beginning, the book is coming for us all", she warned, before, she pulled out a small, rusted pendant from her pocket. As it touched Damien's hand, a surge of warmth shot through his fingers. "It's the Key of Witches," she said. "It unlocks a hidden part of the prophecy, something not even Maureen knows exists, and not even me." Damien clenched it tightly. "Thanks for being honest, Elizabeth," Damien said before walking out of the cafeteria with Brian, but she still sat in the chair.
"I guess everything is going according to plan," Principal K said as she walked gracefully to where Elizabeth was sitting and smiled.
