Noah would ensure Ryan White would not live happily for the rest of his life.
So many plans now filled his mind, but he set them aside. He turned to see the gangster leader once more.
"Do you have proof?"
"Yes, I have."
The gangster leader retrieved his cell phone from his bomber jacket pocket and politely handed it to Noah.
After reading the text exchange between the gangster leader and Ryan for a few more moments, Noah's lips curled into a satisfied smile.
Yet, moments later, his smile disappeared as he recalled Ryan's family's strong connections with the police. A simple text message might not be sufficient to get Ryan arrested.
"Sir, I also have evidence of voice recordings and transfers from Ryan White."
The gangster leader's voice abruptly echoed, breaking the silence as if he sensed Noah's confusion.
Noah glanced at the gangster leader.
"Do you really have it?" he asks, concerned that this man might seek an easy way out.
"Yes, Sir. I keep everything for situations like this, or in case Ryan White betrays us. I have all the evidence on my phone; you can check it!"
"Good! It looks like you still have a brain cell to spare." Noah complimented him with a faint smile.
He quickly dialed Ryan's contact using the gangster leader's cell phone to confirm the number, which differed from the one saved in his phone book.
Noah held back and let Ryan express his frustrations from the other end; he made sure to record every word.
"What the hell! Why did you only call me now? Did you capture that bastard Noah!?"
Ryan's annoyed voice came through from the other end, prompting Noah to smile wryly. Still, he held himself not to speak.
He really knew Ryan's voice all too well. And in just a moment, he already recognized him.
"Yes..." the gangster leader replied after Noah brought the phone closer to his mouth and asked him to act accordingly.
"Perfect! Where are you? Hurry, bring him to the location I told you about!!" Ryan's voice sounded less annoyed than before but more excited.
"I'm on my way and will be there shortly."
Noah smiled while giving the gangster leader a thumbs-up to convey precisely what he wanted him to say.
"I will wait for you. Ah, please don't harm him too much, but if he didn't follow you, maybe you could just break his leg? I need his face to look normal!"
"Sure, sir!"
...
After ending the call, Noah looked at Jason and the room. He was surprised to see Alan Caldwell and several staff members scattered around the room. He also saw Emma standing behind him.
"Noah, what's happening?" Alan Caldwell approached Noah and the group. "What made these people come here and damage our office?"
Alan stood beside Emma. How shocked Alan was when he saw his daughter's injury.
"Oh my lord, Emma, they also harmed you..." His voice trembled as he checked his daughter from head to toe.
"Dad, I'm okay!" Emma reassured her father with a warm smile. Yet, Alan Caldwell remained unconvinced.
"Are you sure? Your cheeks look slightly swollen, Emma." Alan pulled out his cell phone to call medical aid, but Noah stopped him just before he could make the call.
"Uncle Alan, if you want to call an ambulance, I have already asked Lina. And about what had happened here, I will explain later," Noah said before searching for Lina in a certain direction.
When he finally saw her, he looked at Alan and excused himself to speak with Lina.
Noah started to worry when he remembered what the gang leader had told him earlier: the police wouldn't bother with their call.
"Lina, why haven't the police and medical aid arrived? Are you unable to contact them?"
"I already called the medical aid, and they said they would arrive in thirty minutes. I guess they will arrive soon."
Lina checked her watch before continuing. "As for the police, they seem not to believe me. But they promise to send someone to check."
Noah's hand clenched into a fist. The gangster leader's words confirmed his fear.
"I will try to call them again, Noah. No worries..." Lina snapped Noah out of his anger. He stopped her.
"You better do something with your arm, Lina. I believe we have a medical kit in this building," Noah urged her before stepping into the corner and making a call.
The phone connected after just one ring, and Edgar's voice came through clearly on the other end.
"Sir, I'm about to call you to report about William Wood. He got his punishment!"
"Thank you, Edgar. I know the result from the system report."
"That's good, Sir. But why are you calling me?" Edgar asked curiously.
Noah promptly explained the situation with Caldwell Construction, which was destroyed by gangsters aiming to kidnap him.
Edgar was shocked.
"Sir, are you okay? I'll dispatch people to protect you right away. No, wait, I will come there to assist you..."
"You don't need to come here, Edgar. Just call the police instead. It seems they have ignored our report. I've heard from the gangster leader that the police are actually on their side."
Noah said helplessly. He believed Edgar had strong connections to beat all those corrupt police's butts!
Edgar sighed heavily upon hearing Noah's words. He had already suspected it—numerous corrupt individuals in this country, particularly in this city.
"Rest assured, Sir. I'll ensure they arrive more quickly and capture those gangsters."
Noah felt relieved. He continued to report to Edgar about Ryan White, the mastermind who wanted to kidnap him. He informed him about the evidence and would send it for him to process for everyone involved.
"White's family?" Edgar was surprised to hear that.
"Yeah, the same person who almost caused this company to close down."
"Is adding them to your revenge ledger necessary, sir?"
Noah chuckled; he had already seen the system notification but had not decided anything yet, as he was distracted by many things in such a short time.
Now that he had time, Noah summoned his system again.
[Send him to jail and bankrupt his family company.]
A smile graced his lips at the punishment he chose.
"I've already decided his fate!" Noah said with a smile.
"You did an incredible job, Sir! I'll arrange for a bodyguard; you can't go alone. Your safety is my top priority, and someone likely already knows you!"
Edgar's voice conveyed a tension that left Noah stunned.
"Who knows about me? Is it my father's enemy?" Noah asked. He hadn't expected his father's enemy to have already found out about him.
"Yes! Your father has many enemies. They are dangerous!"
Noah tried to mask his anxiety with a smile.
"No need to send me a bodyguard! I already have a perfect candidate. All I have to do now is recruit him!" Noah's gaze was fixed on Jason's direction.
