Chapter 12 - 1st Ranked Game (2)

[Welcome to the battlefield.]

[Minions will spawn in 30 seconds.]

The screen glowed brightly, and the arena appeared after a second—a map divided into three lanes, jungle quadrants, and a river running straight through the center.

Seunghoon's camera snapped to the mid lane.

His hero, Seryn spawned at the heart of the base, standing tall in the fountain, her hands glowing with void energy. Her voice echoed faintly through Seunghoon's headphones.

"Order is a lie. Chaos brings clarity."

"Damn. I missed that," Seunghoon murmured with a grin on his face. He could feel his chest rising and falling with his every breath.

He immediately opened the shop and bought his starter items—Arcane Crystal, Two Mana Gems, and a ward. His fingers moved through the screen with ease.

[00:05]

[KaiZen]: Are we invading?

[Tetsu]: I'm down.

[Luk4]: Let's go 4-man invade their blue buff.

Seunghoon took control of Seryn and began moving toward the bot-side jungle entrance, trailing just behind Tetsu and KaiZen. Luk4 stayed at the edge of the fountain for a moment, buying his starting items before joining them quickly.

As they reached the edge of their jungle, near the riverside, they quickly hid in the bush, silently waiting.

[00:30]

[Minions have spawned.]

There was nothing yet.

No footsteps. No ward placement pings. Not even a glimpse of the enemy's support.

It seemed like the enemy went to the other side of the jungle first. It was a good thing for them.

[KaiZen]: Let's quickly get the blue buff.

With their jungle's chat, they quickly get out of the bush and directly go into the opponent's jungle side.

KaiZen led their invade.

His hero, Kairo, dashed forward with confident strides, his dual blades ready. Tetsu's Mira followed close behind, her staff glowing with healing magic. Luk4 on Velda stayed back in a safe position. He checked the side brush for any ambush, while Seunghoon moved gracefully as Seryn, her void energy trailing behind her.

The enemy's jungle came into view.

There were no wards and no vision. No one was in sight.

[00:46]

[KaiZen]: clear fast

[Tetsu]: watching river

[Red]: on it

KaiZen slashed the Blue Buff instantly, dragging its aggro while Red and Luk4 dealt damage from behind. Tetsu placed a ward near the river's pixel bush to cover their flank.

Seunghoon didn't deal much damage early, but a couple of Voidlash (Q) casts helped deal some damage.

The Blue buff collapsed within seconds.

[You have slain the enemy's Blue Buff.]

[KaiZen]: reset now

[Tetsu]: That was clean

They retreated just as quickly as they came. There were no greedy plays, no overextending.

Seunghoon made his way back to the lane.

The minon wave was already crashing mid by the time he arrived. His enemy, miNAO was already there too, throwing out light spells to quickly kill the minions.

Seunghoon didn't waste any time.

He cast directly into the enemy's minions.

He and miNAO exchanged a few hits there and then, but no one really engaged a full fight. Not now when they're both low in level.

[Level Up – Level 2]

Seunghoon quickly unlocked

Seryn shimmered for a second.

miNAO backed off, clearly wary now.

But Seunghoon kept his tempo. He had a slight EXP lead thanks to the jungle invasion that they did, and he intended to use it.

[KaiZen]: careful bot

[Tetsu]: copy

The clock hit [01:55].

KaiZen pinged for the Crab. Seunghoon watched the map and timed his push. The moment the second wave was cleared, he rotated again, this time taking the longer route through river bush.

[02:10]

Crab fight.

The crab was one of the most valuable early jungle objectives in Rise of Legends.

Unlike the other jungle monsters, the Crab doesn't fight back. It just ran around while being targeted. However, killing it granted both vision and movement speed in the river.

It might be small, but it was a big thing in the early game.

To junglers, it meant pathing control.

To laners, it meant early warning and safety from ganks.

Seunghoon quickly dropped a ward on the river to see if miNAO would follow him.

However, on the Crab's location, the enemy jungle, SavioMain, was already there.

When Seunghoon saw that KaiZen was just near, he didn't wait for him anymore and targeted SavioMain.

Seunghoon's fingers moved on instinct, but he still felt slow as if he wasn't used to flashy movements anymore.

Still, he tried his best to angle his attack. He pressed W. With it, a dark sigil bloomed with dark energy, forcing the enemy jungler to step back.

But he wasn't fast enough.

BOOM.

The silence hit. SavioMain staggered just as Seunghoon followed up with, the glowing orb dealing some damage into his health bar.

SavioMain instantly blinked backward with his spell.

At the same time, KaiZen arrived.

Kairo's twin blades flashed as he dashed in from the other side of the river. The Crab skittered off to the edge of the lane as the real battle started.

SavioMain tried to turn the fight, casting a wide arc of his hook to slow them, but they were able to move before it landed on their direction.

Kaizen took it as an opportunity to stun SavioMain, knocking him up into the air. That was all Seunghoon needed.

He moved forward with ease, casting his skills quickly. His fingers tearing down this keyboard's keys.

The two worked together in unison.

[Red has slain SavioMain.]

[First Blood!]

A brilliant kill banner flashed on Seunghoon's screen. His heart kicked in his chest.

"Let's fucking go," he muttered under his breath.

[KaiZen]: NICE RED LET'S GO

[Tetsu]: Good rotation

The Crab was still wandering at the edge of the river, with only half HP.

Seunghoon didn't even need to help anymore. KaiZen finished it off quickly.

[Your team has slain the Scuttle Crab.]

[River Shrine Activated.]

Blue light flared on the riverbed, expanding into a glowing vision field. The river was theirs now.
