Ash rubbed his chin thoughtfully as the images of his new Pokémon appeared before him, each one flashing momentarily across the golden screen in front of his eyes.
"So I got Mankey, Mr. Mime, and Krabby from the original Ash's team," he muttered, grinning. "Not bad at all."
He tapped his finger against the side of his head.
"Mankey… I still remember how that little guy wrecked Ash's hat, then turned into a Primeape and started brawling like a berserker. Too bad Ash left him with that Anthony guy for some 'training' and never called him back. Poor thing probably thought Ash abandoned him."
[System Raphael: Correction: Ash did abandon him. But now's your chance to make it right.]
"Yeah, yeah," Ash waved it off. "Redemption arc and all that."
His gaze drifted next to Mr. Mime's icon.
"Mimey… hmm. I remember he didn't like battling much. Preferred staying at home, cooking, cleaning, basically replacing me as Mom's favorite child. But then again, he did throw down pretty hard in Pokémon Journeys against that Hariyama. Guess he can fight when he wants to."
Ash swiped to the next screen.
"And Krabby… man, that tiny crab really pulled through. Won all three rounds in the Indigo League and evolved during the tournament. Small package, big punch. I'll need to train him properly this time."
[Ciel: Fufu~ Don't forget your other pulls.]
Ash's grin widened as the next few entries flashed up.
"Right, right. Giant Onix—Bruno's Onix, if I'm not mistaken. That thing was massive, probably ten times the size of a regular one. No way I can catch it now. I should probably have Pikachu learn iron tail first.'
He flicked over to the next one.
"Squirtles from the Squirtle island huh? The one where a blastoise was sleeping cause of a jigglypuff hmm ."
[Ciel : Fufu, it's perfect for your harem members especially right now since you are about to meet Misty ]
He nodded and chuckled .
Then his eyes fell on the last pull.
"Shiny Magikarp. Oh wow… the one James got scammed into buying?" he said, blinking. "Wait—hold on. That thing turned into a Gyarados later, didn't it?"
[System Raphael: Affirmative. It's one of the Pokemons you currently have mega evolution stones of.]
Ash's eyes sparkled.
"Mega Shiny Gyarados… yes, please."
He stopped, then slowly turned toward the floating final token, shimmering in his mental inventory like a wrapped present.
"But should I use the last one…?"
[Ciel: You can just complete some romantic missions and you will get it ! what is there to think so much about ?]
Ash grinned. "Yeah, let's keep it for now"
First we should catch the ones we can for now. Then..
Ash clapped his hands, standing up.
"Alright, team. we have rested enough it's time to go and start our journey. But no slacking! We train hard, we battle harder, and we win hardest."
Eevee barked, "Vui!" tail wagging.
Poliwag sighed, but nodded.
Arbok hissed softly in support, and Pidgeotto flapped its wings proudly.
Pikachu crackled with energy, ready to move forward.
"Next stop—Viridian City, but first we have to battle some spearows" Ash declared, striking a pose.
[Raphael: Warning—wild spearow horde detected ahead.]
Ash paused, then smirked.
"Perfect. Let's test our strength and also teach them a lesson."
The group ducked low in the tall grass, just beyond a rocky ridge overlooking the flock of Spearows perched along a line of thin trees. Their sharp beaks pecked at the ground, seemingly unaware of the incoming ambush.
Ash pulled out his Pokédex and whispered, "Let's see…"
[Dex: Spearow. Level: 14. Type: Normal/Flying. Known Moves: Peck, Leer, Pursuit, and Agility.]
He squinted at another, tapping quickly.
[Spearow. Level: 17. Moveset includes Fury Attack.]
"Nothing too crazy," Ash muttered, eyes glinting. "Alright team, time to stretch our muscles."
[Ciel: Fufu~ will you wing it like a true protagonist?]
Ash smirked. "Let's wing it. These birds won't know what hit them."
He quickly whispered commands to his squad.
"Pidgeotto—take the skies and create a wind burst to disorient them. Eevee, use Quick Attack to isolate one of the stragglers. Poliwag, prep a Hypnosis. Arbok, keep your Glare ready if any charge us. Pikachu…"
He turned to his partner, grinning. "Time to Thunder bolt some feathers off."
Pikachu narrowed its eyes and sparked up, "Pika…CHU!"
With a burst of wind from Pidgeotto, the grass parted and the battle began.
The Spearows squawked in alarm, fluttering into a panic as the gust knocked several into each other.
"Eevee—now!" Ash barked.
A white blur shot through the chaos, tackling one of the smaller Spearows straight out of the air and slamming it to the ground.
Poliwag hopped forward, eyes swirling. Hypnosis waves rippled through the air, and one of the older Spearows faltered mid-flight, then collapsed in a snooze mid-peck.
"Nice shot!" Ash called. "Arbok—Glare!"
Arbok's eyes flared red as it slithered forward, locking eyes with a charging Spearow. The bird froze in place mid-air, stiff as a board, then flopped to the ground like a feathered brick.
"Alright, Pikachu—go wild!"
Electricity surged from Pikachu's cheeks and crackled outward in a web of power. Three Spearows shrieked as they were zapped mid-flight, flapping away in terror.
Only one remained—a particularly loud, scruffy-looking one with a jagged feather sticking out of its wing. It hovered furiously, glaring at Ash with sheer bird-rage.
[Raphael : That one seems special. It's the one Ash caught in the manga plus the one who evolved into a fearow and made trouble for the pigdey and Pigdeotto flocks in the anime, it could lead your flying-type Pokémon alongside Pigdeotto.]
Ash's eyebrows rose. "Oh? Then I am catching it."
"Pidgeotto—knock it lower with Gust! Eevee, follow up with Tackle! I'll do the rest!"
The combination struck perfectly—Pidgeotto's gust caught the Alpha Spearow off guard, and Eevee slammed into it mid-air, sending it tumbling to the dirt.
Ash twirled a Poké Ball, eyes gleaming. "Let's make this official!"
"Poké Ball—GO!"
The ball struck the Spearow and sucked it inside. It wobbled.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Click.
[Ciel: Congratulations~ You caught Alpha Spearow ! A fine Pokemon for your early aerial force.]
Ash pumped a fist. "Not bad for a warm-up."
He turned back to his team, each one standing strong.
"Now that's what I call synergy," Ash said, full of pride.
" Since I have already caught the one who made trouble after evolving in the anime the others should not make too much trouble but I should still deal with them."
He adjusted his cap and pointed forward.
"Alright, team! Viridian City awaits—and on the way we beat more spearows and maybe, just maybe, a new waifu or two."
[Ciel: Fufu~ You never know. There is a certain tomboy waiting.]
Ash grinned wider. "Let's not keep destiny waiting."
The group marched on.
---
Two hours later...
The skies had dimmed into a gloomy gray as Ash and his team moved steadily along the forest path. The earlier battles with wild Spearows had left the party in high spirits , filled with confidence cause of their winning streak. Arbok's intimidating glare had made most wild encounters a joke—most flying-types turned tail the moment its tongue flicked.
"Alright, we've handled a few stragglers. Nothing too wild," Ash said, stretching his arms as they approached a slow-moving river. "Let's take rest. Everyone, drink up and cool off."
Pidgeotto soared overhead, keeping watch while Poliwag waddled straight into the shallows, letting the water lap over its body with relief. Pikachu dipped its tail cautiously searching if there's any gyaradoes in the river, while Eevee just jumped in the river and began swimming like it was a natural thing.
Ash crouched near the riverbank and began refilling his water canteen. "Not a bad start for day one, huh?"
[Raphael: Weather alert—Rainstorm imminent. Seek shelter within the next ten minutes. Coordinates provided: Nearby cave system 112 meters northwest.]
[Ciel: Fufu~ Better get moving. Wet hair isn't sexy, you know.] [A/N: I don't know about hair but a beautiful wet girl would surely look sexy hehe ]
Ash blinked as thunder rumbled above. "Right. Hey—everyone, into the trees!"
The group dashed into the forest as the first droplets began to fall, gradually turning into a light shower.
By the time they reached the cave system, the rain had become a full-on downpour.
Ash ducked inside, shaking his arms. "Geez, when it rains, it pours."
As the others followed in, Arbok curled near the entrance, forming a casual guard. Pikachu shook itself dry, sending a small crackle through the air. Ash scanned the cave.
That's when he saw it—a familiar Cerulean-blue bicycle, resting just near the rock wall.
His eyes widened.
"No way…"
He stepped deeper into the shadows and cupped his hands around his mouth.
"Hey! Anyone in here? We just came in because of the rain!"
There was a tense silence, broken only by the echoing drops of water from the cave ceiling.
Then—
"Oh there was someone near the river?."
Ash flinched at the tone. "Knew it," he muttered.
From deeper inside the cave, A figure emerged, drenched.
