Eamond woke up feeling refreshed and well-rested. Even the bruises and a few broken bones didn't hurt anymore.
He then got up from bed and made his way to the dining room.
As he walked, he saw Garret playing with his wooden sword through the window with the other kids and Alfon.
Chasing each other in a game that Eamond could only guess as pretend knights.
It seems, Garret had started his journey to recovery and started to be open again. But there's still a shadow that keeps him from truly enjoying himself and being cheerful.
Over time the shadow might disappear or it could chain him forever. Eamond can only hope things get better and help make things easier around the orphanage.
Eamond kept this train of thought until he arrived at the dining room. As he opened the door, he was greeted with the scent of crisp bacon and warm, yeasty bread wrapped around Eamond like a mother's embrace the moment he stepped fully into the dining hall.
