Lying in front of us now was a plain scattered with dead wolves and charred goblin corpses.
"We did it!"
Trudy shouted from beside me.
I looked over to her and noticed mild burn wound all over her right arm.
She must had been caught in my fire while defending me.
Unfortunately, that was the risk of fighting alongside a fire elemental mage.
Knights who fought with me back in Dunia were trained to withstand the effect of fire magic. Plus, they had their armor to protect themselves.
Unless I decided to learn another elemental magic, my comrades needed to get used to being burned.
Once we returned, I needed to find a way to resolve this issue.
Having defeated all the enemies, we were engulfed in the blue light and transported back to the mirrored room.
Soon the whole chamber trembled. Just like the first time we cleared the first floor.
And like before, the trembling only lasted for a few seconds.
I turned my gaze to the only shining mirror.
[Climb the tower and save the world!]
[Main Dungeon]
[Floor conquered – 2 –]
The number on the conquered floor had turned from 1 to 2.
"Apparently we just cleared the second floor."
I told my party.
"The enemy changes as we go up."
Jonah said, recalling the addition of wolves.
"They become stronger too."
Shanny added.
"I wonder how strong they can get."
Trudy said. Her head wound and burn injury had begun healing now that we were back.
"No matter how much stronger they become, we must make sure we'll be able to defeat them every time. Or else it will be our deaths."
I said while leaving to the square.
As I passed through the gate, I noticed more unfamiliar faces loitering about.
The others noticed this as well.
"Did master summoned more people while we were in the trial?"
"They must had been. Because I never saw these people earlier."
"How many people are there now? Around 30?"
"Should be around then."
We were about to make our way to the lodging before we saw Gerrits and little Tarran coming out of the storage with crates of ores.
Those must be the new ones that were acquired after we completed the second floor trial.
"Ah, nice work clearing the trial!"
Gerrits said to us while showing the ore crates.
"Thank you. Anything happened while we were inside?"
I asked.
"Master summoned ten more people after you guys went in. And there's someone interesting that came in this batch."
"Someone interesting?"
"Yeah. There was this woman arriving with a bow and a quiver filled with arrows."
I raised my eyebrows upon the statement.
"She already had weapons when she arrived here?"
"I know, right? None of the people that had come so far had weapons on them. Of course, none of them were fighters so that was a given."
Gerrits was right.
Considering this woman had a weapon would mean she was already trained with a combat skill.
I had expected we would get someone like this. Their presence would help bolster our strength.
We wasted no time and met this woman in the dining hall.
"Hi, I'm Cecily Rann! Back home I worked as a hunter."
The woman introduced herself.
She was in her early twenties, dark-haired, and slender in physique.
She also had this cheery and polite air.
Just like Gerrits mentioned, she had a bow and a quiver full of arrows strapped on her back.
They were not the ones made by the craftsmen. I would know since I enchanted every weapon here.
"Hello, Cecily, I'm Serafina. How much do you know about this place?"
"Nothing really. I was just out hunting and suddenly I found myself here."
"Is that all? What about synthesis? Do you know about it?"
"Not before I came here. I've only heard a little about it from those craftsmen in the workshop just now."
So she was not like the 3-star Gerrits who, despite not knowing what this place was, knew about synthesis and the duty of following master's order.
And yet she came here with a weapon, which singled her out from the 1-stars like Jonah who came here with nothing.
Gerrits was an exception since he was not a fighter to begin with.
If I had to guess, this woman's rank might fall in between Gerrits's and Jonah's rank, which was 2-star.
Someone who was quite skilled and yet had no knowledge whatsoever about the forged land.
"So, Cecily, you said you were a hunter. Have you fought against monsters before?"
I asked.
She turned her eyes away, hesitating to answer me.
"Um, no. The only things I have killed were animals. The regular ones you find in the forest, like deer and boars."
"Not even goblins?"
"No. But I've hunted many animals! I'm good with my bow!"
It was a shame she did not have any experience against monsters.
But at the very least she knew how to wield a bow, someone we currently needed for our formation.
"Warden."
I called out.
A purple light manifested in front of us and from within came the fairy.
[What is it? I'm busy.]
She said with a slightly upset tone.
"Can I ask master to include this woman the next time they called us for battle?"
I asked.
[You wanted master to include her in Party 1?]
Party 1, was that our assigned group?
"Yes. I would like that."
[Hold on.]
The fairy vanished into thin air.
A few seconds later, she reappeared.
[Master says yes. She'll be joining you the next time you're climbing the tower.]
Without waiting my reply, the fairy quickly disappeared.
I turned to my comrades at the table.
"It's decided. Cecily will be joining us. I recommend you guys to train together with her from now on so you would be familiar with each other's strengths."
Jonah and the others nodded without hesitation.
"Of course!"
"We've been needing an archer after all!"
"Looking forward to fight alongside you, Cecily!"
On the other hand, Cecily was a little overwhelmed by the welcome. She immediately bowed her head.
"L-likewise!"
