Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

c9: Teaching

Kaha~

The crisp crack of broken bones echoed, and the hand gripping Ryan Wong's collar released, freeing him.

Immediately, Bald John howled, "Ah~! My hand! My wrist's busted!!! Ah ah ah!!!"

But Ryan Wong didn't release his grip. Instead, he clamped down harder on Bald John's right hand, ensuring everyone including Peter Parker could see it clearly.

The expressions of the onlookers changed in an instant.

No way Bald John would fake an injury like that with such a composed, almost regal, blond guy. His hand really was crushed!

Hiss~!

Who was this guy who looked like Steve Rogers but with the attitude of Matt Murdock's best interrogator? How strong must someone be to shatter Bald John's wrist with bare hands?

Quietly, some of the crowd dispersed.

In Hell's Kitchen, survival wasn't just about brawn; it was also about knowing whom not to mess with.

Angering the wrong person could mean vanishing into the shadows—just ask anyone who'd crossed Wilson Fisk.

Obviously, if this guy could snap someone's wrist without breaking a sweat, he wasn't just some random vigilante like Moon Knight.

Some of the spectators decided to leave, not wanting to risk retaliation from this handsome, blond guy who looked more dangerous than a Hydra assassin.

Others, afraid of being singled out later, slipped away, hoping to avoid being held accountable for having laughed at Ryan Wong earlier.

Of course, many stayed, drawn by curiosity and the chance to watch a real-life brawl in the streets.

Their thinking was simple: no matter how powerful this blond stranger was, could he take on a mob? Even Batman had trouble with mobs.

Ignoring the murmurs and shifting crowd, Ryan Wong glanced at little Peter, then twisted Bald John's wrist further.

Click!

This time, it completely gave way.

The limp hand now hung uselessly from the wrist, no bleeding but grotesquely swollen. It was clear that the force used wasn't mere brute strength—it had precision, like Shang-Chi's bone-breaking moves.

This was no accident; it was a skill Ryan Wong had picked up from his inherited memories of Minato Namikaze's techniques. Back in Konoha, this method was used to break a prisoner's spirit during interrogation.

Now, it served as an effective way to put street thugs in their place.

"AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Bald John's screams echoed through the alley.

Ryan Wong stepped closer, placed a hand gently on the terrified boy's head, and said softly, "Don't be afraid, kid. Can you tell me your name?"

After all, if you're going to complete a 'task,' it's always better to help someone who's worth the effort.

The kid in front of him was quite likable—even if he didn't have a reward to offer for the "mission," it was better than working for those nameless thugs.

So, Ryan Wong decided he wanted this kid to be his "employer," assigning him a task.

"I... I'm Peter Parker!" Despite being a bit horrified by what he'd just witnessed, little Peter still managed to stammer out his name.

This big brother didn't seem like a completely good guy...

Ryan raised an eyebrow slightly. He carefully studied little Peter's face and confirmed his suspicion—this was the future Spider-Man.

Who'd have thought a random encounter would land him a future superhero as his "quest giver"?

Despite Peter's potential, Ryan Wong didn't let that sway his plan. Little Spidey was genuinely likable, and Ryan wasn't about to change his mind just because this kid was destined to be a hero.

Noticing the cautious expression on Peter Parker's face, Ryan guessed the boy's thoughts and explained, "Little Peter, how do you think you should deal with bad guys?"

To young Peter Parker, "bad guys" were those who bullied others—guys like Bald John.

So, drawing from his limited experience, he timidly offered, "Try to talk to them and stop them from bullying people?"

"But what if talking doesn't work?" Ryan gestured to the howling Bald John at their feet. "There are people out there who won't listen to words. What would you do then?"

Little Peter fell into deep thought. After a while, he muttered, "I'd run away… far away… so they can't find me~"

Running away might seem cowardly, but it's a survival instinct.

But Ryan Wong countered, "Running doesn't solve the problem. Sure, you might escape but what about the next person they target? If you run, and your friend gets hurt, what then?"

That question hit home. Peter considered it, then said softly, "I'd come back and fight the bad guys. But I might not have the power to do that…"

"Let's say you do have that power," Ryan pressed.

"Then I'd definitely come back and stop them!" Peter Parker said firmly.

"Very good! That's the spirit!" Ryan Wong gently ruffled Little Spidey's hair. "When you face bad people, if you don't want to kill them, then you need to make sure they're too scared to ever do wrong again."

"And not all bad guys can handle the same punishment."

"Like this guy here Bald John—he's the type who bullies the weak and fears the strong. If you just talk to him today, he'll be back tomorrow, picking on someone else."

"So, I chose to take away his tools of mischief—to make sure he never bullies anyone again."
