Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Bite! Why Aren’t You Biting Anymore!

Whoosh!

Before his palms could strike, the fierce gale they stirred up already caused Arlong's cheeks to cave inward. Startled, Arlong instinctively ducked down, relying on his extensive combat experience.

Though it looked clumsy, it was effective.

Thud!

The air rippled where his head had been moments ago. Arlong felt his eardrums explode, and blood began to flow from his nostrils.

He was horrified. Had he hesitated even half a second longer, his head would have been crushed, if not outright killed.

Without a moment to spare, Xiano, having missed his strike, didn't separate his hands. Instead, he brought them crashing down directly toward the top of Arlong's skull.

"Damn human!" Arlong, terrified and enraged, bared his fangs and lunged at Xiano's arm.

Oh?

Seeing that Arlong wasn't dodging anymore, Xiano narrowed his eyes slightly, intrigued. He deliberately extended his right arm toward Arlong.

You're asking for death!

Arlong's gaze turned savage.

Stupid human, daring to underestimate me! You have no idea that my sharpest weapon isn't the Great Saw Sword in my hand, but these fangs!

Crack!

Along with the familiar metallic taste, a shattering sound rang out.

Arlong grinned, but before he could show any sign of triumph, he suddenly realized in horror that it wasn't Xiano's arm that had shattered—it was his own teeth.

The gushing blood wasn't from Xiano's muscles being torn open—it was from his own gums.

"Bite! Keep biting."

Xiano's expression remained cold as he pressed his arm deeper into Arlong's mouth. "Why aren't you biting anymore?"

"Ugh… ugh!" Arlong struggled desperately, trying to spit out the arm that felt like it was made of steel, but it was futile. He could only watch helplessly as the arm inched closer to his throat.

"I heard you can even bite through cannonballs fired from warships. Why are you so weak today?"

Xiano continued to press inward, speaking as if to himself. "Didn't eat enough?"

"Here, I'll give you my arm! It's full of protein. Get some nutrients, and you'll have strength, right?"

His calm voice gradually filled with brutality.

Arlong's eyes began to roll back, his jawbone stretched to its limit, and faint cracking sounds came from his skull.

The powerful arm began to twist and turn inside his mouth.

The few remaining fangs, along with chunks of flesh, were squeezed out like dirty clothes in a washing machine.

"Ugh…!"

Arlong was nearly suffocating, his consciousness fading. Only his survival instinct made him flail his claws wildly, scratching at Xiano's chest and arms.

But he couldn't even break the skin, leaving only faint scratch marks.

"Let go of Arlong!"

A furious roar came from behind. It was Chew and two other Fish-man officers, charging with their swords raised, slashing at Xiano from behind.

Xiano glanced back.

It was strange. They were the ones charging forward, even roaring, yet their faces were filled with fear and despair, eerily reminiscent of Commander Erwin.

Xiano ignored them, not even bothering to look their way again.

Was this scene about to repeat itself?

Chew stared at the terrifying back muscles getting closer and Xiano's indifferent attitude. Instead of feeling joy, his despair only deepened.

He had seen with his own eyes how Hachi's six swords, no matter how he swung them, couldn't break through Xiano's defense.

Hachi was the top Swordsman on the ship, wielding six swords, each weighing three hundred kilograms. Even Hachi couldn't handle them, so how could they have a chance?

But Arlong couldn't just ignore this!

In the blink of an eye, three swords slashed from different directions, smoothly cutting into Xiano's back.

They pierced through?!

Chew was both shocked and delighted, but his expression quickly changed.

No! The places where the three swords had pierced were actually gaps deliberately left by Xiano's controlled contraction of his latissimus dorsi muscles!

Clang!

In the next instant, the coiled muscles suddenly expanded outward, and the three blades shot back in reverse!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Three Fish-men, unable to dodge in time, were instantly pinned to the coconut trees, their necks pierced, blood gushing down the bark.

No, no!

Arlong caught a glimpse of this scene from the corner of his eye, overwhelmed with grief and rage, tears streaming down his face—

Run, run! My foolish comrades, can't you see? This human… no! This monster is not someone you can match!

"You… are crying?"

Xiano looked at him with interest, "It almost makes me feel pity, to the point where I almost considered letting you go. But as the saying goes, crocodile tears are not worth sympathizing with."

He glanced into the distance.

The remaining Fish-man Pirates, seeing that their officers were almost all dead and even Arlong was completely helpless, were utterly terrified. They turned and fled madly toward the sea, each wishing their parents had given them an extra pair of legs.

Xiano leaned down and whispered softly into Arlong's ear:

"Oh right, you're a shark, aren't you? Doesn't matter, it's all the same, isn't it?"

The moment the words fell, he suddenly grabbed Arlong's head, his large hand clamping down, and chased after the Fish-men who were frantically fleeing toward the dock!

He continuously activated Shave, the scenery on both sides rapidly receding as his speed surged. Arlong's lower body kept crashing through the giant trees along the way, his consciousness rapidly fading.

Thud, arriving at the broken pier, Xiano finally stopped.

He glanced down indifferently. The purple Fish-man in his hand had been dragged for hundreds of meters, his body mangled, leaving a winding trail of blood on the muddy ground.

"Dead?"

Xiano frowned slightly, unable to hide the disappointment in his expression, "So you… really were only at this level?"

Even now, he hadn't been able to go all out, to truly enjoy himself.

Shaking his head, he tossed Arlong's corpse onto the beach like garbage, then turned his gaze toward the Fish-man Pirates who were scrambling onto the Shark Submerge.

"Not good! That monster is coming after us!!"

One of the Fish-men noticed him and let out a shrill scream, "What are we waiting for? Run!"

"The ship still needs to turn, there's no time!"

"Then jump ship, swim away! In the sea, can he really catch up to us Fish-men?"

Trying to escape through the sea?

Xiano sneered. He didn't have the bad habit of leaving roots unplucked.

Moon Walk!

The arch of his foot tightened as he stepped on the ground, and in an instant, he vanished, reappearing at the top of the high mast.

With a clear view, all the Fish-man Pirates were laid bare before his eyes.

Some Fish-men were already climbing over the side rails, jumping into the sea. Xiano's expression remained cold as he raised his right arm, his index finger aimed at the back of one of their heads.

Finger Pistol!

The shockwave erupted from his fingertips, instantly blowing apart the Fish-man's head. Xiano didn't even glance at it. Before the brain matter could splatter, he had already aimed his fingertips at the next target...

...

The sea breeze blew past, carrying the salty tang mixed with the heavy stench of blood.

Genzo's legs trembled as he cautiously looked around, stepping over the scattered limbs and pools of blood, making his way to the dock.

The scene here was similar to the dirt road in the countryside earlier. Along the ship's side, on the deck, and floating on the sea, everywhere lay the corpses of Fish-men.

What on earth had happened?

Could it be...

That figure who had rushed past him earlier, heading toward the shore, had single-handedly ended this battle?

"Xia... Xiano?" Genzo cupped his hands around his mouth, calling out tentatively, "Where are you? Are you alright?"

"Over here, Uncle Genzo."

The voice came from above.

Only then did Genzo notice the figure sitting motionless on the mast of the massive Pirate ship, quietly gazing down at everything below.

"Uncle, you're a bit late, aren't you?"

Xiano raised his head, revealing a slightly weary face. It wasn't physical exhaustion but the relief that came after being mentally strained for so long.

Seeing Genzo's stunned expression, he smiled faintly:

"I've killed all the Pirates, not a single one left. It's a bit of a shame, really. I didn't get to give you, the patrol officer, a chance to lend a hand."
