Seventh tier! The sound was like a thunderclap, shaking the air around them.
A pitch-black magic circle instantly opened beneath the Skeleton Mage's feet, and the negative energy was so dense that it felt like a cold sting reaching Khajiit and Clementine's feet, forcing them to take a step back with sharply increased vigilance.
Just as they moved away, a gigantic bone claw suddenly erupted from the violently shaking ground, instantly seizing the Skeletal Dragon that Khajiit had just summoned!
Roar! A terrifying, soul-shaking roar erupted from the Skeletal Dragon's mouth. However, the roar quickly turned into a shriek of agony as the horrifying bone claw crushed its body. The creature that Khajiit considered his trump card shattered into pieces in an instant, then turned into a clump of negative energy that vanished without a trace, as if it had never existed.
"No... Impossible!" Khajiit muttered, his eyes wide with terror, subconsciously taking several steps back. The attack just now was clearly high-tier magic. His Skeletal Dragon had the special ability to negate magic up to the sixth tier. Now, it was so easily destroyed by magic, clearly proving that the undead's power before them was in a realm far beyond the sixth tier.
A drop of cold sweat trickled down Khajiit's pale forehead. Seventh-tier magic was the realm of gods, something beyond the reach of ordinary humans. So, this undead before him could be considered a demon incarnate! This kind of being might only be dealt with by his own leader. The two of them were clearly no match for it.
Run! The thought flashed through Khajiit's mind in a panic. Without the slightest hesitation, he unleashed a barrage of magic attacks towards the Skeleton Mage, then immediately turned around and ran as fast as he could towards the exit of the dark underground cave.
On the other hand, although Clementine was not a magic caster, as a former member of the Black Scripture, her knowledge of magic was by no means weak. She recognized the impending danger almost simultaneously with Khajiit and took instinctive action to flee.
"Clever enough to try to escape, but there's no way you can get out of my grasp," the Skeleton Mage sneered with cold disdain. He raised his bony hand high.
No one knew what magic he used, but suddenly a dark magic circle appeared right beneath the feet of Khajiit who was running frantically. The next second, dozens of terrifying skeletons emerged from the shaking ground, rising like vengeful spirits from the underworld. They grabbed Khajiit's hands and feet, then with terrifying force dragged him back down into the dark and cold underground! Khajiit's terrified screams were muffled as he disappeared from sight.
On the other hand, Clementine, who was running at full speed, only felt a flash of light in front of her eyes. The Skeleton Mage she had left behind suddenly appeared in the narrow passage right in front of her, completely blocking her escape route.
Damn it! Clementine cursed in her heart with a growl, but her hands didn't slow down in the slightest. The black robe covering her body instantly lifted, revealing the light armor inlaid with many terrifying adventurer nameplates, attached in a manner as revealing as a bikini. If an ordinary human male had seen that scene, he would definitely have been captivated by the sight of the large expanse of alluring white skin, but her opponent was a lustless undead, so his attention was not diverted at all and he continued to stare at Clementine with a cold, empty gaze.
With a swift movement, Clementine grabbed the meteor hammer hanging at her waist and swung it with all her might. The hammerhead pulled by the chain shot out at high speed, striking directly towards the skeleton mage's head. In fact, her more effective attack method was to use the other two short conical weapons hidden at her waist to deliver deadly piercing attacks. Combined with her extraordinary physical abilities in the hero realm and her unique deadly martial arts, she could deliver devastating blows to any enemy. Unfortunately, undead had extremely strong resistance to piercing damage, and her strongest methods often couldn't threaten those without flesh and blood.
Clang! Her heavy meteor hammer struck the Skeleton Mage's head without any obstruction, but instead of shattering the skull, it only produced a terrifying metallic impact sound and bounced back in Clementine's disbelieving gaze.
Are you kidding me! Clementine thought frantically. Shouldn't skeleton monsters be most vulnerable to blunt force damage? Why was the man in front of her able to receive her full-force attack without being injured in the slightest!
No, wait. He wasn't completely unharmed. There was a very faint, almost imperceptible crack on the skeleton mage's skull. It was clear that Clementine's attack had been effective and dealt damage, but the damage dealt was far from significant.
While being attacked, the Skeleton Mage calmly stepped forward, closing the distance between himself and Clementine who was still frozen in shock. Since her opponent was clearly determined to receive her attack and close in, Clementine didn't have enough time to react or dodge. The dimly glowing skull face rapidly magnified in her pupils.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh! The rapid flapping of his robe sleeves created two gusts of cold wind, and the Skeleton Mage's arms immediately clamped down with incredible speed. When Clementine finally realized the impending danger, she found her chest and waist had been tightly embraced by cold and powerful bone arms!
Her light chest armor collided with the Skeleton Mage's sternum and made a terrifying clicking sound. Clementine's compressed chest muscles underwent severe deformation, causing her to experience an intense feeling of suffocation, as if her lungs were about to explode.
"Bastard! Don't underestimate me!" Clementine growled angrily and humiliated. He was clearly a powerful mage who used high-tier magic, but now he was using this kind of physical strength to compete with her. This made Clementine feel unprecedented humiliation. She was a warrior who had stepped into the hero realm! Was she going to be defeated by a mere skeleton mage in terms of physical ability?
In such a close situation, her large meteor hammer was no longer useful. With a swift movement, Clementine released the weapon in her hand, placed both hands on the Skeleton Mage's cold and bony head, and tried with all her might to pull his head off his body. However, the result completely shocked her and left her dumbfounded.
"How can this be!?" Clementine groaned desperately. Even with all her strength, she couldn't move the Skeleton Mage's head even slightly. His body felt like a solid pillar made of unshakeable liquid steel.
Ugh! The suffocating pressure on her chest intensified, accompanied by a violent throbbing pain that almost made her lose consciousness. The adventurer nameplates embedded in her light chest armor couldn't withstand such immense pressure and began to loosen and fall to the ground one by one with a horrifying clattering sound. Clementine felt several of her ribs had been broken by the undead's grip, and internal bleeding was almost gushing into her throat. With the last of her strength, she struggled and said in a choked voice, "Wait... wait a minute! You still don't want me to help you? I'm willing to obey all your orders!"
Hmph! A cold and disdainful snort reached Clementine's dying ears, then the terrifying restraining feeling suddenly loosened, and she instantly fell limply to the ground with a painful thud.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh! Although she felt a violent burning pain in her chest every time she tried to inhale, Clementine still greedily inhaled the fresh air, savoring the momentary happiness of surviving that terrifying ordeal.
"Even though you greatly enjoy slaughtering adventurers, you are clearly not prepared to face your own death. This is truly ridiculous, Clementine," the Skeleton Mage said in a cold, mocking tone, looking down at Clementine who lay limply on the ground.
Clementine looked up at the dimly glowing skull face, covering her broken ribs with one trembling hand, gritting her teeth in pain and anger, but she didn't refute the undead's words in the slightest. It was only at this moment that she noticed the magical light that suddenly lit up the undead's body, and it seemed she finally got the answer to the undead's physical abilities that far exceeded human limits. Just a low-ranking mage! One day I will definitely make you pay for all this! Thinking viciously in her hateful heart, Clementine lowered her head to hide the expression on her face that was gradually turning vengeful.
At the same time, the Skeleton Mage suddenly reached out his bony hand and firmly grasped Clementine's face, roughly lifting her from the ground!
Ugh ugh ugh! Clementine quickly grabbed the undead's forearm with both of her trembling hands to prevent her neck from being severely injured by the gravity of her dangling body. She then kicked the undead's waist and ribs with her long and powerful legs while groaning in pain and anger.
The Skeleton Mage ignored the anger and hatred burning in Clementine's bloodshot eyes that looked like a beast's. A dense black energy spread rapidly from his slender palm and enveloped Clementine's entire body in the blink of an eye.
In an instant, Clementine seemed to lose all her strength. Even her hands gripping the Skeleton Mage's forearm fell down weakly.
Snap! Falling back to the ground with a painful thud, Clementine's body twitched violently, and her mouth couldn't close, emitting foamy saliva.
"I have placed a powerful control spell on you, a spell that cannot be undone. If you dare to rebel or try to escape, you will remain in this powerless state, waiting for a slow and painful death for the rest of your life," the Skeleton Mage said in a cold and emotionless tone. Like a cruel explanation, or perhaps a final warning, after he finished speaking to the dying Clementine, he turned his head and looked at Khajiit who had been almost completely dragged underground by the terrifying undead on the other side of the cave.
