Chapter 5 - There Are Levels

"So you mean to tell me that, the both of you. Come from other universe because you died?"

"Right."Deon nods enthusiastically.

"And in death you two end up …. In a 'white void' with a random omnipotent being?"

Looking over at mark struggling with his brand new magical restraints, "Rob for short, but yes that is also correct."

"And you expect me to believe that?" The Ancient One replies, in a amused tone.

Deon racks him mind for sec before remembering something mark said. "This body can't be more than a couple hours old, maybe less. Since we we only souls our body's had to be recreated."

"Hm?" The Ancient One murmurs before casting a spell the shoot toward Deon faster than he can move. Trying to defend himself Deon put his arms up to block, but the impact he's expecting never comes.

Instead he opened his eyes to see a light made of golden particles surrounding Mark and himself. Deon understanding that she just checking if he right, (to which he genuinely has no clue) mark on the other hand is not having and good time.

[two minutes earlier]

Seeing the fear in his new acquaintance eye Mark makes his move. He charges toward the Bald enemy, now powerless (they haven't awakened yet) he takes two step before being blasted back by a light beam. Rolling back to him original location, he is then locked in place by magical restraints.

[Currently]

Mark struggles against the restraints, veins in his forehead bulging at the effort.

His memory is brought back to the last time he was restrained… by his father. The sense of helplessness he felt during that time l, being unable to save even a single person from his father's wrath. That helplessness grow in a fiery rage.

Rage at the fact that fact he's being restrained again, at the fact that he father killed him. That even tho he tried his best that wasn't enough, HE wasn't enough. Then, the restraints release.

"You might want to defend your self." Deon says in a matter of fact spurt of tone. His body instinctively activates his sharingan, anticipating a fight breaking out. One he is most certainly not prepared for.

Mark slowly stands making eye contact with The Ancient One. "Deon, how strong would I have to be to return that energy blast?" He asks Deon who stands there shell shocked.

"Uh- hmmmm, out here at least your fathers level. On planet? Impossible, at least by my understanding."

"And what is your understanding, young Deon?" The Ancient One interrupts them "you seem to have knowledge beyond your," motions to entire body "capabilities."

"Let's just say I had, keyword had, glimpses into a version of this multiverse." Deon choosing his next carefully continued "the fact that you even sensed us coming means you have a higher power then I expected."

"Oh I didn't sense you exactly, I sense my title be use in the space near earth so I came to investigate."

"YOU MAGICALLY BOOBY TRAPPED YOUR NAME?" Mark say in exasperation.

"You can never be too carful."

" I'm not gonna lie that's actually sick." Deon relaxes and his sharingan deactivates. "Only certain people should even know you exist, let alone speak so open about you."

" I'm glad you understand." She replies "now about this 'information' you have. How accurate is it?"

Thinking for a moment Deon replies "less accurate the longer we interact with this universe. At a certain point the only accurate guide would be for names, and even then it would only be like 30% after enough time passes."

"It's like the butterfly effect but worse cause we're superheroes, isn't it?" Mark adds " if we were normal people it's wouldn't matter as much. Right?"

"You aren't as dumb as you look, who would have known?"

"Would you two be interested in join me for a conversation in Kamar Taj?" The Ancient one asks stopping Mark from arguing. "An argument in a cockpit feels out of my comfort zone."

"Can you just give us one moment?"

"Of course take your time."

Deon pull mark close to him, "good work keeping control."

"Huh," Mark replies co. This is not what he thought this conversation was gonna be about.

"Now would I have immediately attacked, no, but the point is that you tried to protect me, so thank you."

"You would have done the same thing."

'I'm not to sure about that.' Deon thinks to himself. He grabbed the jar of "magic beans" as so called by Mark, "eat one you feel better." He says before popping one in his own mouth. Almost immediately his body begins to change.

His skin once pulled right to his bones began to fill out, mark seeing this immediately takes one. Their bodies rejuvenating at visible rate, The Ancient One stand there with a straight face, but is internally shocked. 'Those are not injuries that could be healed in a single step.' She intrigued before asking "and what is this?"

Deon composed "Senzu beans" he says casually, failing to elaborate. After a few seconds him and Mark are at 100%, or whatever that means for these new bodies. "Check my battle power?" Deon asks Mark, who clicks a button on his scouter.

"What? So low, I have to start training."

"What's mine?" Deon hit the button on his scouter.

"This is bull shit!" Deon pushes Mark away from himself "how I'm a whole Sayain and you get the higher battle power."

"I mean I was a hero for a couple of months before I died, have you ever been in a fight?"

Deon pauses the looks away from Mark. "We can go," addressing the Ancient One and ignoring Marks question. "Just let me figure out how to turn off this ship, don't want this tech falling into the wrong hands."

"Oh, I disabled that weapon before I spoke to you two. If you can, turn off the auto pilot, I'll take you to kamar taj."

"Weapon?" Deon moves to the pilot console, an alert flashing. "Did you just disable our ENGINE."

"You can never be too careful." The Ancient One smiles at him.

Mark looked at Deon thinking "just what have I gotten myself in to?"
