Hiss
"It looks like you still haven't given up,"
Argus smiled, the double ended hammer spinning in his palms as leaned forward and aimed it at the snake in front.
"But The fight is already over."
Argus announced as he dashes forward with a burst of strength that felt foreign yet his so why should he contain it?
He reached the snake, rampage and madness burning in his eyes as he swung the hammer with full-force but the snake carefully slithered between the gaps in swings, eventually reaching him with it's fangs.
But it didn't matter As the next second the snake fangs didn't even managed to pierce through the armor and now it could only look in terror as Argus extended his arm and grabbed it by the tongue like a toy and smashed it down onto the ground.
" Maybe you should have trained more instead of killing for fun, Karma is a bi**h you know?" Argus said with a sarcastic expression before kicking his opponent to the burning trees.
Argus then proceeded to use the hammer as a bat and smacked a few burning trunks towards the snake like he was playing a game of golf.
The snake on the other hand was forced to experience the excruciating pain of getting smacked with massive wooden logs twice in size compared to it.
It wiggled in pain, scales falling from it's body as it tried to stand up only to be shot down again and again until something inside it snapped.
The narrow eyes shrunk further, the composure completely shattered as it no longer cared about anything. It has only one goal now, to pay back the humiliation in full.
Hissing in fury it charged straight through the logs, coming straight towards Argus who prepared himself for a crash but the crash never came as the snake turned around and left into the burning bushes.
The scene was so unexpected that even Argus with his many years of thinking about fighting and survival scenarios couldn't predict it and was left there all stunned.
It was only after a few seconds that he came to his mind but the snake was getting farther and farther away, he looked at it and begins chasing.
"YOU BASTARD! YOU JUST HAD TO RUIN MY PERFECT FINISHING BLOW DIDN'T YOU!?" He screamed at it as the game of chase begins again with only the position were now completely opposite of before.
They both ran through the forest, their tracks visible clearly on the charred forest and ash filled ground but it seemed like Argus had greatly Overestimated his speed as he couldn't manage to close in on the snake.
The distance grew farther and farther until Argus could barely see the snake and couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness as he watches his opponent flee right in front of him.
However The snake's pace suddenly lowered as the distance which was once greater than over 500 meters was now quickly lowering as the slithoutte of the beast begin expanding in Argus's view.
He smiled, feeling a sense of victory as he fastens, smilling as he ran forward for the finishing blow but his sixth sense quickly began screaming at him as the Snake wasn't just standing there but was completely still.
But overtaken by his sense of pride and madness that he misunderstood as power didn't let him stop until he was only a dozen meters away from the snake.
It was at this time that he felt a Pressure, A pressure that filled him not with fear or adrenaline but with pure dread and despair as he digged his feet into the ground and slid across the ashen mud before coming to a stop very close to the snake.
The next moment the snake's head lifted, not by itself but the other being in front of it. If Argus was currently asked to describe what he was seeing right now, then there will be only one answer.
" A Demon."
The demon has a crown made of purple thorns, a skin charred black to ash with cracks across it's whole body that spewed flames every now and then, 3 whip like tails that grabbed onto anything like a extra hands and four demonic eyes that saw through everything in one glance.
It was a horrifying sight, one scary enough to make someone puke or worse, kill himself at a mere glimpse but thankfully the core helped Argus avoid that with it's power but there was no way he will have any chance against this monster.
But running wasn't a option either for Argus either as because as he looked down and found a panel in front of him
[ Section 12- honor
[ Clause 8- A judge in execution mode is not allowed to run away from a fight.
[ Breach penalty- Premature end of execution mode.
Argus looked at the panel, his words struck in his throat as he couldn't bring himself to say a single word in fear of garnering the demon's attention and could only watch as the snake was eaten raw by it in two bites.
Running wasn't a option neither was Hiding so there was only one thing he could do, Fight. So Argus prepared himself, not for a battle but for a battle of stalling until the judge mode was over.
However it seemed like fate had other plans as the Demon's gaze suddenly locked onto Argus's golden armor, it's brain was sent into overdrive as it's memories of a certain foe resurfacing as it slowly turned towards Argus.
They both locked eyes, Each ready to move but it seemed Argus has greatly underestimated the Demon as it's giant 10 meter tall figure vanished.
" Wha- blergh"
Argus didn't even had time to finish his words before he was sent flying high into a air after recieving a punch. The next second, he didn't even have the time to gather himself because the giant demon appears right above and did the most elegant bicycle kick that should have been impossible for it's size and kicked Argus farther into the air.
The golden armor was cracked, the entire torso section shattered to bits and the gauntlets was reduced to bits but thankfully Argus couldn't feel any broken bones just yet.
He looked down at the demon, his mind filled with pain and anguish as he saw the demon slowly open it's mouth with a glow within it as the air was sucked into it before a burst of flames was sent to the skies as a pillar of purple flames ascended to the heaven, burning everything in it's wake.
"I am gonna become a well-done steak." Was the only words Argus could say as soon he was engulfed in flames.
Soon the demon closed it's mouth, The pillar of flames fading away as it did and looked high up expecting a charred corpse and or maybe even ashes of Argus falling.
But what it was greeted with was neither a corpse or ashes, but a giant fist the size of it's face right into his mouth as a golden frame of a giant golem came to frame with Argus riding on it's shoulder.
"This. Is. AWESOME!"
Argus yelled as he watches the golem smash it's fist right into the Demon's eyes and sent into staggering, only to follow up with a heavy punch to the head that sent it straight down to the ground.
Argus felt watching a mech movie, wishing to eat popcorn as he did but his fun was quickly broken up by the AI like voice of Eclipse, "RUN YOU MORON."
It didn't take Argus long to figure out why as the golem's torso was pierced by the Demon's tail and was then pulled closer into a headbutt which sent Argus flying far away from the impact who soon crashed down into a pile of ashes.
Without wasting a second more, Argus stood up to his feet, thanked his fortune and quickly retreats away from the fight of the two giants and straight towards his cave which was the only escape for him.
So he ran as the sounds of collision grew faint and eventually they were nothing more than whispers.
Eventually he reached his hideout and couldn't help but turn towards the battle where the purple flames could still be seen rising to the sky as the forest soon returned to silence.
" What the hell was that thing?"
Argus asked Eclipse which stayed silent and felt extremely insulted but his thoughts were stopped in their tracks as he was practically flashbanged.
It was only after a few seconds that he could see again so he turned, looking towards the direction of pillar of flames which was now gone, replaced by a pillar of radiant white light and on top it stood a single being in white cloak with ivory wings on it's back.
"Embrace"
That was the last word Argus heard before he and everything in the forest lost conscious.
