Chapter 12 - chapter 11:A fearful fall

The first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the windows of the tree house, casting a warm glow over the group as they began to stir from their sleep. The night had been peaceful, the screeches of the phantoms finally fading into silence as dawn approached.

Alex was the first to wake, his movements slow and sleepy. He stirred in Noah's arms, his fox ears twitching as he blinked up at Noah's sleeping face. He tried to sit up, but Noah's grip was tight, holding him securely against his chest. Alex squirmed a bit, his cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and warmth as he realized he was effectively trapped.

"Noah," Alex whispered, his voice still thick with sleep. "Hey, wake up."

Noah, however, remained deeply asleep, his breathing steady and his hold on Alex unwavering. His panther ears twitched slightly, but he showed no sign of waking.

Jackson, who had been watching the scene with amusement, couldn't help but snicker. He found the situation hilarious and his laughter was infectious. "Looks like you're stuck there, Alex," he teased, his voice filled with playful mockery.

Alex shot him a playful glare, his cheeks still flushed. "Shut up, Jackson," he said, his voice a mix of embarrassment and amusement.

Sarah and Jason, now also awake, grinned at the scene. Sarah's mouse ears twitched with laughter as she nudged Jason. "I think Noah's not letting go," she said, her voice filled with humor.

Jason chuckled, his cheetah tail flicking with amusement, "looks like Alex is his prisoner for the morning," he joked, his voice lighthearted.

Alex rolled his eyes, but he couldn't help the small smile that tugged at his lips. "I guess I'm stuck here until he wakes up," he said, his voice filled with playful resignation.

Noah, still asleep, shifted slightly, pulling Alex even closer. His panther tail wrapping tail wrapped around Alex's leg, a comforting and possessive gesture.

Alex, still blushing, tries to wiggle out of Noah's grasp, but Noah, even in his sleep, tightens his hold, pulling Alex impossibly closer. Alex looks up at Noah, his heart racing, and decides to just enjoy the moment, relaxing in Noah's embrace. He looks over at Jackson, who is grinning widely, and sticks his tongue out playfully.

Noah begins to stir, feeling Alex's movements, and slowly opens his eyes. He looks down at Alex, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Morning, Alex," he murmurs, his voice still husky from sleep.

"Morning," Alex replies, smiling back, his cheeks still slightly pink.

Jackson chimes in, "aw, isn't that cute? You two are just adorable."

Sarah sitting up and stretching, adds, "yeah, it's like a regular sleepover in here. Except with more... cuddling."

Jason, yawning, looks around the group and grins. "Well, this is cozy. Who's ready for breakfast?"

Noah grins down at Alex, his eyes sparkling with mischief, before playfully kissing his cheek. Alex's ears twitched softly at the touch, and he remembers the steamy play from the previous night, his face flushed red. Noah helps Alex up, and everyone else gets up as well, deciding to have a light breakfast, finishing off the box of granola bars so they can get to work.

"Sarah and I can get started on the garden." Alex said, his voice filled with excitement and determination.

Jason suggested, "Jackson, Noah, and I can put up some walls to make small bedrooms for everyone in the tree house. That way, some of us can have some privacy when needed."

Noah chimes in, "we'll need one less bedroom because Alex will be sleeping with me at night." Alex's face goes red, flustered and a little embarrassed, but he can't help the small smile that plays on his lips.

Alex turns to Noah, his expression hopeful. "Noah, could you join the others in a minute? I was thinking, with your earth abilities, you could make the ground near the tree house a bit softer for planting our seeds."

Noah nods, a small smile playing on his lips. "That's a great idea, Alex. Let's go ahead of Sarah and scout out a good spot for the garden."

As they climbed down the rope of the tree house, Alex looks around, taking in the newly built wall that surrounds several trees, providing protection against the phantoms. He gets a mischievous idea and falls behind Noah slightly, reaching out to gently grabs Noah's sensitive tail, teasing him. He watches Noah's reaction, a playful smirk on his face.

Noah tenses at the sudden contact, a low growl rumbling in his chest as his panther ears twitch. His dominant and possessive nature surfacing, he turns around swiftly, grabbing Alex's wrists and pulling him flush against his chest. He pins Alex's wrists behind his back, eliciting a small gasp of surprise from him, and a shiver runs through Alex's body.

Alex looks up at Noah, feigning innocence with a teasing glint in his eyes. "What's wrong, Noah?" He asks, trying to suppress a smile. He looks away briefly, but Noah, not having it, grabs his chin with his free hand, forcing Alex to meet his intense gaze. Alex's fox ears twitch with a mix of excitement and nervousness, his breath hitching as he feels the heat radiating from Noah's body.

Noah leans down, his voice a low, dangerous whisper in Alex's ear. "You're playing with fire, little fox," he murmurs, his breath hot against Alex's skin. He gently nibbles on one of Alex's ears, making him let out a small, flustered noise, his body trembling slightly in Noah's grip.

Noah continues to gently nibble on Alex's fox ears, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin, making Alex's ears twitch and his tail swish behind him, unable to control his reactions. Alex's head falls back, his eyes fluttering closed as he gives in to the sensations, his body pressed against Noah's.

Noah grins, his voice a low, dangerous whisper, his panther ears flicking with amusement and arousal. "I think it's time for a little punishment," he murmurs, his lips curling into a smirk as he sees the effect he has on Alex.

Before Alex can process his words, Noah leans down and starts to suck and nibble softly on Alex's neck. Alex jolts and gasps, his eyes widening in surprise, his fox ears lying flat against his head in shock. He is unable to move away from the sudden sensation as Noah keeps him pinned against his chest with one arm, his body trembling with a mix of excitement and tension.

Noah's free hand comes up, stroking gently up the back of his neck, his hand tangles in Alex's soft white hair, gripping tightly and tugging his head back gently but firmly, exposing Alex's neck even more. Alex's breath hitches, his pulse quickening and body arching into Noah's touch, his ears twitching wildly and his tail swishing in a flurry of movement.

Noah's lips and teeth work their magic on Alex's neck, sucking and nibbling, marking him gently. Alex can feel every movement, every touch, his body hyper-aware of Noah's presence.

He feels the wetness of Noah's tongue, the scrape of his teeth, and the suction of his lips, each sensation sending a jolt of pleasure and pain through his body, making him squirm and gasp. His ears twitch uncontrollably, and his tail swishes back and forth, betraying his arousal and desire.

He is completely at Noah's mercy, his heart racing as Noah leaves a trail of soft kisses and gentle bites down his neck, each one sending shivers of anticipation through his body. Noah's grip on his hair is firm but gentle, keeping him exactly where he wants him, exposing his neck for more teasing and tasting.

Noah eventually slows down, his touches becoming gentler until he finally stops, allowing Alex to catch his breath. Alex whimpers, his body still trembling with need, panting softly as he feels the sudden absence of Noah's touch. He's clearly not happy that Noah has stopped, his body still craving more.

Just then, Sarah clears her throat loudly enough for them to hear, giving the two of them a teasing smirk. "Should we get to work now?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Alex's face turns a deeper shade of red, a mix of embarrassment and fluster washing over him. He nods quickly in response, his voice shaky as he says, "sorry Sarah."

Noah however, only chuckles in amusement, clearly unbothered that they had been caught. He's gives Alex a playful smirk, his eyes still dark with desire, and a satisfied grin on his face. He steps back, giving Alex some space, but his tail flicks playfully against Alex's leg, a promise of more to come.

They quickly get to work, the tension between them palpable, their bodies still humming with the aftermath of their encounter. Noah swiftly uses his earth abilities to soften a nearby patch of land, making it ideal for planting. He works quickly, his hands glowing slightly as he shapes the earth to their needs. Once finished, he turns to Alex and Sarah, a satisfied grin on his face.

"There you go. That should make your work easier," he said, his voice still holding a hint of roughness from their earlier encounter. He leans down and gives Alex a quick, firm kiss on the lips, a promise of more to come later, before turning and climbing back up the rope to the tree house, leaving Alex and Sarah to their task.

As they start planting the seeds, Sarah can't help but tease Alex playfully. "So, you and Noah, huh? You two were getting pretty… frisky down here," she says, a mischievous glint in her eye as she elbows him gently. Alex turns a deep shade of red, his ears twitching nervously and his tail swishing behind him in embarrassment.

"Oh, come on, Alex. Don't be shy now. I'm just giving you a hard time," Sarah laughs, her tone light and friendly. "You two are adorable together, really. It's nice to see you so… happy."

Alex looks down, a small smile playing on his lips despite his embarrassment. "Yeah, well, Noah can be pretty… intense," he admits, his voice soft. He looks back up at Sarah, his expression serious. "But I'm glad you're here, Sarah. I don't know what I'd do without you and the others."

Sarah smiles warmly at him, her eyes softening. "We're in this together, Alex. All of us," she replies, giving his hand a quick squeeze before they both turn back to their work, the mood light and comfortable between them.

Alex and Sarah continued to work side by side, planting a variety of seeds with care and precision. Their tails swish gently behind them, brushing against the soft earth as they move. They banter back and forth, their playful teasing creating a comfortable and lighthearted atmosphere.

"You know, fox-boy, you're not so bad at this gardening stuff," Sarah says, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she watches Alex carefully place a seed into the soft dirt.

Alex's fox ears twitch at the nickname, a small smile playing on his lips. "Well, I do have a green thumb, mouse-girl. Plus, I had a lot of practice taking care of plants at my old apartment. I was hardly ever home due to work and college, so it was nice to have something living to take care of," he replies, his tail swishing a little faster as he works, a sign of his growing excitement and energy.

Sarah's nose twitched, her small mouse ears perking up with curiosity. "Really? I never took you as a plant loving type," she teases, her tail flicking playfully against his.

Alex chuckles, shaking his head. "Yeah, well, it was either that or go crazy with all the studying and working. It was a nice break from the stress," he explains, his expression turning nostalgic for a moment before he shakes it off. He holds up his dirt stained hands, wincing slightly. "My hands are starting to feel raw from the rope. Maybe we can turn it into a proper rope ladder later."

Sarah looks at his hands, her expression softening with concern. "That's a good idea. A rope ladder would be much safer and more comfortable. Plus, it would make it easier for everyone to get up and down." She agrees, her tail flicking thoughtfully behind her.

Alex grins, appreciating her agreement. "See? I knew you'd come around to my way of thinking eventually," he says, his tone mock proud.

His ears perk up as he looks around, taking in their surroundings. "You know, this place is starting to feel like home. With all of us working together, I think we can make it even better."

Sarah's expression turns serious, and she nods in agreement. "You're right, Alex, we make a pretty great team," she says, her voice soft but sincere. Her tail curls around his leg briefly, a silent show of support and affection.

As they finish planting the last of the seeds, they stand back to admire their work, their faces flushed with pride and exhaustion. "We make quite the pair, don't we?" Alex says, a soft smile on his lips as he looks around Sarah.

Sarah grins back at him, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Yeah, yeah, we do. Now let's get up there and see what the others are up to." She says, gesturing towards the tree house.

They start to climb the rope, their banter filling the air, their spirits high, and their bond stronger than ever. Their ears twitch and turn, picking up on the sounds of the others working above them.

As Alex and Sarah climb the rope to get back to the platform, Alex's hands, still covered in mud, slips halfway up. He lets out a yelp of surprise as he loses his grip, falling back to the ground with a loud thump. He smacks his head against the hard ground, and his body goes limp, knocking him unconscious.

Sarah screams in alarm, her small mouse ears pinned back in fear as she quickly slides down the rope to check on him. Her heart pounds in her chest as she reaches him, her eyes wide with worry.

The commotion doesn't go unnoticed. Noah, Jason, and Jackson hear the scream and the thud, and they rush out onto the platform, leaning over to see what's happening below. Noah's panther ears flattened against his head, and his tail lashes back and forth in alarm as he takes in the scene. Jackson's eyes widen in shock, and his body tenses as he realizes what has happened.

"Alex!" Noah calls out, his voice laced with worry as he swiftly slides down the rope, his movements fueled by adrenaline and fear. He reaches the ground and rushes to Alex's side, his hands shaking slightly as he gently cradles Alex's head in his lap.

"Can you hear me, Alex? Please, open your eyes," he murmurs, his voice cracking with emotion. His ears twitch nervously, and his tail curls protectively around Alex's body.

Jackson slides down the rope more cautiously, his eyes never leaving Alex's unconscious form. "Alex, please be okay," he whispers, his voice shaking as he reaches them. He looks at Noah, his eyes wide with fear. "What do we do, Noah? He not waking up!"

Noah takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself as he assesses Alex's condition. "We need to get him up to the tree house so we can better assess his injuries and clean him up," he says, his voice steady despite the worry etched on his face. He looks around, his mind racing as he tries to figure out the best way to get Alex's unconscious body up to the tree house.

Sarah suggests, "what if we use the rope to hoist him up? We can secure him to the rope and pull him up slowly and carefully."

Noah nods, appreciating her idea. "That's a good plan. Jackson, can you help me secure him to the rope while Sarah and Jason prepare to pull him up from above?"

Jackson nods, his expression determined as he helps Noah carefully secure Alex to the rope, making sure he is stable and comfortable. They use some of their clothing to pad the rope and prevent any further injury to Alex. Once they are sure he is secure, Noah gives a sharp nod to Sarah and Jason above.

"Alright, start pulling him up slowly and steadily," Noah instructs, his voice firm but gentle. Sarah and Jason begin to pull on the rope, their movements synchronized and careful as they hoist Alex up towards the platform. Noah and Jackson guide Alex from below, ensuring he doesn't swing or twist uncomfortably.

The ascent is slow and tense, each of them focused on their task, their breaths held as they carefully maneuver Alex upwards. As Alex reaches the platform, Sarah and Jason quickly secure the rope and rush to his side, their hearts pounding with fear and worry.

Noah gently brushes the hair away from Alex's face, his touch soft and full of concern. "We're here, Alex. You're safe now," he whispers, his voice choked with emotion.
