Chapter 90 - CHAPTER 90: The Sea Devil Sets Sail

Chapter 90 — The Sea Devil Sets Sail

The hull stretched a full fifty meters long and twenty meters wide.

Not the largest among all sea vessels, but certainly not small either.

The captain of the Sea Devil, Haider, was an elegant man. Upon seeing Qin Chuan, he greeted him with a broad smile and removed his hat in a gentlemanly manner.

"Welcome, noble prince from the land."

It was clear Haider already knew Qin Chuan's identity.

Qin Chuan smiled oddly. After a brief glance, he strode straight into the cabin.

Others might not know much about the Sea Devil and its captain.

But Qin Chuan—both a time traveler and a human king—knew Haider all too well.

Strangely, he had casually asked for a ship, yet here he was, aboard Haider's Sea Devil.

Some people truly are destined to perish.

Ignoring Qin Chuan, Haider's eyes flashed with anger. He spat viciously on the ground.

"These nobles on land really deserve to die."

The Sea Devil weighed anchor, raised its sails, and cut through the water, sending ripples toward the deep sea.

  Yet Qin Chuan was unaware.

Just half an hour after leaving the coast, chaos erupted on the dock.

Soldiers flooded in from all directions, swiftly taking control of the harbor.

Some resisted but were quickly knocked down and forced to surrender at swordpoint.

The original Hanhai City guards were slain one by one.

"Everyone, put down your weapons and surrender!"

A soldier shouted, but the meaning was clear.

A vassal state once loyal to the Tiandou Empire had rebelled, and their first target was Hanhai City itself.

  …

The sea stretched endlessly, a breathtaking view where sky met water.

As the sun rose from the east, the sea sparkled with green light, dazzlingly beautiful.

Qin Chuan stood on deck, gazing into the distance.

The vast horizon seemed to open his mind.

Suddenly, Haider approached, eyes dark and piercing.

"Prince, which empire do you hail from?"

"Is there still a Xingluo Empire on the mainland?"

Qin Chuan's expression twisted in disdain.

Some people just want to die, and nothing can stop them.

"Yes," Haider said, laughing bitterly, "No one expected the mainland to change so drastically after years of turmoil."

"The mighty Xingluo Empire, once dominant over the Tiandou Empire, destroyed just like that. Unpredictable, indeed."

  He sighed hypocritically.

  "Yes, things are unpredictable."

  Qin Chuan smiled mockingly.

"Many live well, but one wrong step costs them their lives."

  Haider shook his head, smiling.

"Especially this vast sea. It looks peaceful, but it's deadlier than land—a place where people vanish without a trace."

  "So?"

Qin Chuan cast a sharp glance at him.

"Haider, I advise you not to entertain foolish ideas."

With that, Qin Chuan turned and walked back to the cabin.

The ship was nearing the depths of the Nine Star Sea—close to the Purple Pearl Pirates' domain.

He hoped Haider would heed his warning.

  Otherwise, he wouldn't show mercy.

  Another day passed.

Qin Chuan returned to the deck and saw Haider sitting in the breeze, a small table beside him laden with snacks and fruits.

  Haider looked relaxed and inviting.

"Young prince of the Tiandou Empire, would you like some refreshment?"

He raised his glass in a toast.

Without hesitation, Qin Chuan walked over, picked a fruit, and began eating.

"Not afraid I'll poison it?" Haider teased playfully, the gentleman's facade fading.

  Qin Chuan's eyes gleamed coldly.

"If you're not afraid of death, then go ahead."

  Haider's smirk twitched.

Suddenly, he stood and overturned the table, sending fruits scattering.

  "Why pretend?"

His fierce face was revealed as he glared at Qin Chuan.

"This is the Nine Star Sea's depths. Pretend all you want. Believe me or not, if I kill you here, no one will know."

"Even if you're nobility from the Tiandou Empire, so what?"

"We are the Purple Pearl Pirates."

"Our target is you—nobles like you."

He drew a scimitar and slashed at Qin Chuan.

Qin Chuan shook his head with a hint of helplessness.

As the blade neared, he flicked his fingers slightly, releasing a sharp soul power arrow that pierced Haider's forehead.

Haider froze mid-swing, the knife still raised.

His thoughts vanished quickly, replaced by sheer horror.

  Bang—

Haider's body collapsed on the deck with a heavy thud.

  Blood trickled from the wound.

  Qin Chuan showed no mercy.

"One wrong step costs your life. Didn't you believe me?"

If not on this ship, Qin Chuan would have crushed him outright using his Human King blood.

But here, he preferred to keep the deck clean of blood stains during his stay.

After killing Haider, Qin Chuan calmly set the table back upright with soul power, gathering the scattered fruits.

The salty sea breeze blew around him.

The sea's beauty remained untouched—if only Haider's body wasn't there.

Just as Qin Chuan bit into an apple, footsteps echoed from the cabin.

  "Captain…"

The first officer appeared, eyes narrowing at Haider's corpse.

  "Did you kill the captain?"

  He demanded coldly.

"Silence!" Qin Chuan whispered, flicking the apple core.

Black particles shot out, piercing the officer's head.

This time Qin Chuan learned to use smaller weapons—less blood, less mess.

The officer's death caused a stir among the crew.

More sailors rushed onto the deck, glaring at Qin Chuan with hostility.
