Chapter 79 - CHAPTER 79: Madness, Desire, and the King’s Shadow

Chapter 79: Madness, Desire, and the King's Shadow

The black-clothed boy was known as Shura—cold, ruthless, and lethal with every strike.

He was like a killing machine, tireless and efficient. Since entering the City of Slaughter, he had fought more than seventy battles without a single loss. No surprise, no falter.

The fallen revered him. They worshipped him madly.

He was Shura.

He was also Tang San—the man who should have died, now reborn from the edge of oblivion.

After yet another victory, Tang San silently walked out of the Killing Field. Beneath the black hood, his eyes glowed a menacing red. A month of unrelenting slaughter had turned him into something feral. A beast unchained.

But the killing brought him terrifying gains.

His soul power had surged to Soul Douluo level. Once he escaped and acquired the matching soul rings, he would become a true Soul Douluo.

Of course, much of this meteoric rise came from the divine elixir left by the Shura God, which had saved him from death. The medicinal energy sealed within his body was gradually released with each kill, transforming his body and fueling his cultivation.

"If this continues, I'll break into the Titled Douluo realm the moment I leave this place," Tang San muttered through clenched teeth. "Spirit Hall… Qin Chuan… Heaven Dou Empire… I'll make them all pay."

His body still surged with life force. Tang San was certain he would reach Titled Douluo—perhaps even beyond.

He would settle all scores.

His enemies would answer for what they'd done.

Blood for blood.

As he turned a corner near his quarters, he saw her.

A woman in the adjacent room—short-haired, beautiful, and familiar.

Hu Liena.

One of Spirit Hall's golden generation.

She had already gained notoriety in the Killing City, achieving five straight victories in just one month—earning her the title "Messenger of Hell."

Tang San's eyes narrowed.

"You've got a death wish, moving in next to me."

His sneer deepened. Madness gleamed in his gaze—twisted with killing intent… and something darker.

Desire.

Months of killing had forged not only hatred but instinctive impulses. Here in the Killing City, women were rare, coveted, and hunted. Tang San had resisted. Until now.

Now, he had found his outlet.

He stepped toward Hu Liena.

She turned at the sound of his footsteps and frowned.

"What do you want?" she asked coldly, hand moving to her weapon.

"Spirit Hall filth. I'll kill every last one of you."

His bloodshot eyes bulged with rage. Without warning, he lunged forward—

Ghost Shadow.

Mysterious Jade Hand.

His palm struck Hu Liena's chest hard, sending her reeling.

"Not bad," Tang San said. "You'll do."

He grabbed her hair and dragged her toward his room.

Moments later, the sound of tearing cloth and desperate struggle echoed from within.

"Bastard!"

Hu Liena's scream pierced the night.

"Xiao Wu… ah… Xiao Wu…"

Tang San's voice followed—ragged, feverish, and feral.

Above the Killing City, the Shura God looked on, his eyes glinting with madness.

"Without release, all this killing will make him a true lunatic," he muttered. "Yes, let it out. As much as you want. That's why I lured this woman here from Spirit Hall."

He laughed wildly, then turned his gaze toward the distant Tiandou City.

"Human King, just wait. In half a year, this boy will be ready to inherit my throne. What will you do then?"

A successor. A potential weapon.

Or perhaps… the deadliest rival.

Tiandou Empire – Imperial Capital

Inside the imperial study, Qian Renxue couldn't sleep.

Today's war report was still reverberating in her heart.

Qin Chuan… he actually did it.

One man, one sword—he tore through the entire Star Luo Empire. That empire now knelt beneath the Tiandou banner.

Her heart surged with pride, but her restlessness drove her to the study to handle more documents.

There was still disaster relief to oversee.

Piles of paperwork required her attention. Petty, tedious, exhausting.

She had just signed another decree when—

A presence.

Qian Renxue's expression shifted.

"Who's there?"

No sound of footsteps. But someone was standing just outside the door.

A soft push. The door opened.

A girl stepped in—silver-haired, flawless in appearance, and with a three-eyed beast perched obediently on her shoulder.

Gu Yuena.

She walked out from the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest.

"Human King?" she greeted softly.

Qian Renxue's heart trembled.

That title—she'd heard it before, in Qin Chuan's memories.

The God Realm. The battle against the Dragon God.

Someone had once called Qin Chuan that.

The King of Humanity.

But why would this mysterious girl say the same?

The little beast on Gu Yuena's shoulder pulled on her silver hair and whispered, "Sister Gu Yuena, she can't be the Human King. She's a woman."

Gu Yuena's pupils contracted.

A woman?
