Chapter 26 - Large Dungeon

In large-scale wasteland reclamation dungeons, competition among adventurers is rare. Everyone shares a common goal.

Before encountering the final boss, each participant has their own tasks to complete, and there's generally no direct conflict of interest.

Despite their immense power, most professionals avoid causing trouble. Even berserkers, whose mindsets are often influenced by their violent class, prefer straightforward challenges rather than scheming.

That said, caution is still essential when entering. With such a large influx of adventurers, it's inevitable that some shady individuals will mix in. Vigilance is a must.

At that moment, the crowd outside Takumi's dungeon square continued to swell.

Although the weather was pleasantly mild, the sheer number of people gathering had turned the atmosphere stifling and hot.

Yet, everyone's eyes gleamed with anticipation, eager for the adventure ahead.

The countdown to the dungeon's activation…

Three minutes remained.

"..."

"3, 2, 1!"

Buzz!!

A massive beam of light descended from the sky, piercing through the square and rapidly spreading outward.

Adventurers were instantly attuned to the beam.

With just a thought and spiritual resonance, any qualified individual could be transported inside.

Whoosh!!

Around her, Luceris saw people transform into radiant streams of light, being absorbed into the dungeon's will one after another.

More and more vanished, and the square rapidly grew emptier.

Galen Skylar turned and said, "Once we're inside, our landing spots might vary. Let's regroup at the most recognizable landmark nearby."

Luceris smiled wryly but nodded. That kind of vague agreement often led to people missing each other entirely.

Even in a party, reuniting inside a dungeon this vast often came down to luck—or excellent preparation.

Celene Sirra, gripping her shield with both hands, blushed. "Sister Luceris… see you in there!"

"Of course," Luceris replied.

Then the light engulfed her, and her vision began to blur.

She felt herself turn into a stream of light, gravity lost, pulled by an unseen force through an endless tunnel.

It lasted longer than she expected.

When she regained her senses—

The world around her had changed completely.

She now stood in a vast plain.

Far in the distance lay an endless desert, split down the middle by what seemed like a natural divide—two worlds, side by side.

Although it had been daytime outside, within the dungeon it was night.

A quiet, luminous night.

The crescent moon hung high overhead, casting a silvery brilliance across the land.

The plains were rich with vegetation, full of vitality, and ideal for camping.

By contrast, the vast desert beyond looked desolate—an eerie mirror of lifelessness.

Yet, within that desert, moonlight revealed the remnants of a long-lost civilization: half-buried temples, broken stone pillars, the skeletal remains of ancient palaces.

An entire ruined city stretched endlessly through the dunes, whispering the secrets of another world.

What a massive dungeon…

It felt less like a dungeon and more like a continent.

"Wow! This place is huge!"

"And the view's incredible! I gotta take some photos!"

"The sky's a quilt, the earth's a carpet… any lovely lady care to camp under the stars with me?"

"Hahaha, someone's feeling bold already!"

"Who cares? No one knows anyone here anyway—no shame in having a little fun!"

But the lighthearted chatter quickly died.

Everyone had noticed her.

Not far from the gathering crowd stood a girl—silent, elegant, and entirely too captivating.

Bathed in moonlight, she looked ethereal.

Dressed in white, her skin was even fairer—so fair it almost glowed.

Boys stood stunned. Girls stared in awe. There was no envy—only admiration.

Luceris had become the focal point of the entire zone.

Around her, the air shimmered faintly, the dungeon's energy gathering like stardust in her presence.

Just standing near her made others feel purified, as if her aura cleansed the very space she occupied.

It was almost… divine.

The mood shifted again, a blend of awe and reverence spreading through the crowd.

Luceris, feeling the intense gazes, pulled her cap down a little lower.

She began scanning the area for the so-called "landmark building."

But all she saw were rolling plains and dense vegetation. Not even a tree tall enough to stand out.

"This divided area will have to do," she thought.

Where lush life met harsh desert—that contrast was striking enough to qualify as iconic.

She politely declined a few team invitations and turned her attention to the dungeon's system prompt.

Three overlords?

Luceris blinked in surprise, then felt a surge of excitement.

A dungeon with tens of thousands of players, all working toward a shared goal, sounded thrilling.

No doubt, these bosses would be formidable.

As one of the lowest-level participants—barely hitting level 30—Luceris knew she'd need her team. This wasn't a place for solo runs.

For once, she didn't mind the idea of being carried.

"Luceris!!"

Galen Skylar's voice rang through the air, loud and clear. She waved enthusiastically in the distance.

She'd already dropped the formalities and adopted a friendly nickname.

Trailing behind her was Celene Sirra, smiling brightly as she spotted Luceris.

"Sister Luceris, I found you!"

The trio quickly reunited, hearts eased by their successful rendezvous.

In a dungeon this size, failing to regroup would likely mean never seeing each other again—until the final boss fight.

Under the moonlight, Galen's sun-kissed skin glowed beautifully.

She said, "Alright, let's check our quest assignments and move out together."
