Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Before leaving get off work, Lin Shuyue wrote a report on the court trial of Duan Taoyong. In her concluding remarks, she wrote the words that the father of the murdered sisters asked her to convey.

The next morning, she did not go to the newspaper office, but went to the address of the dubbing expert given by Professor Bai according to the original plan. She had received the address for several days, and it would be inappropriate if she did not go.

Passing by a fruit shop, she bought several kilograms of expensive fruits.

This is a European-style villa area located near Pinghu District.

After registering and entering the community, the first thing you see is an artificial lake with many lotus flowers planted in it. Fat koi carps are playing back and forth among the lotus leaves.

Willow trees sway by the lake, and flowers bloom in clusters. Every few steps you take, you'll see a new scene.

Lin Shuyue went to each house according to the house number, and finally found the dubbing expert's home twenty minutes after entering the villa area.

Lin Shuyue rang the doorbell beside the black iron door. After a while, a neatly dressed middle-aged woman in her forties came out. She did not open the door, but stood in the middle of the yard and asked, "Hello, who are you looking for?"

"Hello, my name is Lin Shuyue. I am here to visit Teacher Liu Wushuang. I was recommended by Professor Bai Fuan of Yangcheng University."

The middle-aged woman looked Lin Shuyue up and down for several times before she came over to open the door: "Ms. Lin, please come in. Teacher Liu told me before that if you come, just come in directly."

Lin Shuyue followed her into the courtyard. Only then did Lin Shuyue see the entire courtyard.

The small yard of more than 20 square meters is full of flowers and green plants. The plants are green and must have just been watered in the morning. Some flowers still have crystal dew on their petals. The faint fragrance of the flowers wafts into the nose, making people feel relaxed and happy.

After going up the stairs, the middle-aged woman opened the door. After Lin Shuyue followed in, she closed the door.

As soon as they enter the door, there is a foyer. On the left is a small room, which is closed at this moment. On the right is a small living room with a set of brown leather sofas. On the marble coffee table is a European-style vase with a bunch of bright red roses in it, and white lilies as embellishment in the middle.

The faint scent of lilies filled the air.

The middle-aged woman took Lin Shuyue through the small living room and came to a large living room. The sofa here was the same set of off-white leather sofas as before, and the decoration of the entire living room also matched the sofa.

A thin old lady sat with her back to them.

"Teacher Liu, Miss Lin Shuyue, whom you mentioned before, is here."

The old lady turned around and took off a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on her nose.

Lin Shuyue quickly greeted with a smile, and the fruit she brought was taken by the middle-aged woman: "Hello, Teacher Liu, I am Professor Bai's student, my name is Lin Shuyue."

The old lady smiled and said, "Hello, hello, you are Lin Shuyue. When Lao Bai called me, he praised you a lot. Today I finally meet you in person. Come and sit down. Xiao Wang, go and pour Ah Yue a drink."

Teacher Liu and Bai Fuan were comrades who went to the countryside to work together. After the college entrance examination was resumed, both of them went to Capital University. Later, their careers went in different directions, but they have always had a good relationship over the years.

But Lin Shuyue is the first student introduced by Bai Fuan to learn dubbing in all these years.

Lin Shuyue sat next to the old lady as she was told.

As soon as she sat down, Aunt Wang brought a glass of water and placed it in front of Lin Shuyue. The water was tea-brown in color, with grains of wheat floating in it.

Teacher Liu told Lin Shuyue, "When I was young, I worked in the north. There was no tea at that time, so we educated youth would go to the fields to pick wheat after the harvest, fry it, and use it to make tea. Over the years, I have always been used to drinking this tea."

Lin Shuyue picked up the barley tea and took a sip. The unique burnt aroma of grain lingered in her mouth: "It tastes good."

Teacher Liu smiled: "Lao Bai said you wanted to learn dubbing. Come, follow me to the study."

The two went to the study on the second floor together.

Teacher Liu's study has two whole walls of books. Next to the wall without books, there is a shelf displaying some DVDs and trophies.

The award certificates were pasted all over the wall, and the winners were all named Liu Wushuang.

  "Shall we start now?"

"Okay." Lin Shuyue corrected her attitude.

Teacher Liu is a strict teacher. As soon as she entered the study, she changed her appearance and the expression on her face became serious.

For the next two hours, Teacher Liu taught and Lin Shuyue learned, and both teacher and student were very serious.

The get out of class ended only when Aunt Wang came up to call them to eat. Teacher Liu looked at the clock on the wall and said to Lin Shuyue, "It's already half past twelve, Ah Yue, stay and have lunch here."

After the class, Teacher Liu was very satisfied with Lin Shuyue.

The difference between a voice actor and an actor is that a voice actor must not only be able to dub, but also be able to act. In a literary work, an actor can only play one role, but a voice actor is different. A voice actor must play multiple roles according to the different timbre changes of the actor.

As long as one is good enough, it is possible for one person to dub an entire literary work.

Lin Shuyue is a complete layman in dubbing, but she has captured the character's expression and tone very well! Teacher Liu hasn't seen such a good dubbing actor for a long time, but it's a pity that she is not a professional dubbing actor.

"Okay, teacher." Lin Shuyue did not refuse.

The two went downstairs together, and then Lin Shuyue saw a familiar figure in the living room.

  "Captain Hang?"

Hang Jiabai turned around and was also stunned when he saw Lin Shuyue: "Reporter Lin?"

Then he looked at Teacher Liu who was walking beside Lin Shuyue and smiled: "So you are my grandma's honored guest!"

Teacher Liu looked at her grandson, then at Lin Shuyue, and smiled very kindly: "Ah Bai, do you know Ah Yue?"

Hang Jiabai walked to the stairs and stretched out his hand. Teacher Liu placed her palm on it and he helped her down.

"Reporter Lin is a good reporter. She has reported on several recent cases in Pengcheng." Hang Jiabai subconsciously lowered his voice, as if a louder voice would scare Teacher Liu.

Lin Shuyue looked at Hang Jiabai like this, as if she saw the Empress Dowager on TV and the eunuch beside her. Teacher Liu was wearing a dark green cheongsam today, and her temperament was also very elegant and outstanding, not much different from the image of the Empress Dowager.

Hang Jiabai, on the other hand, did not wear a uniform today. He was still wearing a white shirt, similar in style to the one Lin Shuyue wore when she went to report the case, but the fabric was a little different. He was not wearing jeans, but a pair of slightly figure-revealing black suit pants, which made his hips look more lifted and his legs longer.

This is very different from the image of eunuchs in film and television works.

Lin Shuyue was amused by her own imagination.

Aunt Wang had already set the table in the dining room next to the living room. Teacher Liu called Lin Shuyue, and Lin Shuyue hurried forward, and she and Hang Jiabai supported Teacher Liu on both sides.

There were three dishes and a soup on the dining table.

Pork ribs stewed with tea tree mushrooms, stir-fried snow peas with Chinese sausage, stir-fried pork with wild rice stem, and a plate of stir-fried water spinach.

Now is the time when water spinach from Guangdong Province is on the market in large quantities. It is cheap and fresh, and it tastes great when stir-fried with garlic and chili peppers.

Next to the dish was a plate of cut fruit, and judging by the variety, it was exactly what Lin Shuyue had brought that morning.

The three of them sat down at the dining table, and Lin Shuyue and Hang Jiabai naturally started chatting. They talked about the weather in the past two days and what kind of fruits are delicious nowadays.

It was very plain, homely and natural. They didn't seem like people who had just met a few times, but more like old friends who had known each other for a long time.

Teacher Liu sipped the tea tree mushroom chicken soup in the bowl in small sips. Looking at the two young people in front of her who were of the same age and had excellent conversation skills, the curve of her mouth became wider and wider.

It was already one o'clock when they finished their meal. Teacher Liu was old, and looked tired after eating. Lin Shuyue asked to leave at the right time, and Teacher Liu did not keep her.

"From now on, please try to spare half a day every Tuesday and Thursday to come here for classes. If there are any special circumstances, just give us a call." Teacher Liu has already figured out Lin Shuyue's work schedule.

But she also knew that the profession of a journalist was just like Hang Jiabai's profession as a policeman, and there were always emergencies of one kind or another.

Lin Shuyue's eyes lit up: "Thank you, teacher!"

Professor Bai has already told Lin Shuyue that Teacher Liu was one of the earliest dubbing actors in the country. Although she is now retired, her basic skills are very solid. Being able to receive her guidance, even if it is only half a class, can help people go further and further on the road of professional dubbing.

Teacher Liu glanced at Hang Jiabai with a smile, and her tone became three times more kind: "Why call me teacher? You are the same age as our Jiabai. Just call me grandma like him."

Lin Shuyue glanced at Hang Jiabai. In front of Teacher Liu, Hang Jiabai's expression was much softer. The coldness that he had when Lin Shuyue first saw him in Suishan Village had disappeared completely.

Hang Jiabai was also looking at Lin Shuyue, and he smiled at her

Lin Shuyue calmly looked away: "Okay, then I will call you Grandma Liu from now on."

"That's right, that's right. Ah Bai, please send Ah Yue off."

"I also have to go to work, so we can go together." Hang Jiabai agreed quickly.

  "Thank you, Captain Hang."

He came by car and parked in the designated parking space outside the gate.

The two got in the car, and Hang Jiabai asked Lin Shuyue where she was going. He was a little surprised to hear that Lin Shuyue was going to Taijiang Prison.

"It's quite far there. How did you get assigned there? Do you have an interview mission?"

"No. I received a letter from Taijiang Prison yesterday, and I plan to go and take a look. My master said that he also received a letter from that criminal." Lin Shuyue told Hang Jiabai what she had heard from Huang Qiang.

Hang Jiabai frowned. There was a lot to say about the death penalty being commuted to life imprisonment. He asked the criminal's name and the time of the crime, and then said, "This case should have been more than ten years ago, a long time ago."

  Lin Shuyue knew this.

There are always many cases of wrongful convictions, but most of them occurred in the 1980s and 1990s. Most of these cases are due to the complexity of the cases, the lack of a sound legal system, and the underdeveloped criminal investigation technology. In a small number of cases, the real murderer has a backstage, who stands in the dark and manipulates the development of the entire case.

Among them, the case of Sun from Southwest is the most famous.

"This is the first request for help I have ever received in my career. Regardless of whether I can help or not, I will go and take a look."

Hang Jiabai nodded and said, "Then I'll take you to Shuanglin Village. You also have my phone number. I'm not busy this afternoon. When you're done, call me and I'll pick you up."

"Thank you, but it's not necessary. Just take me to the car rental place and I will rent a car and drive directly to Shuanglin Village. This will save some time." Lin Shuyue said to Hang Jiabai.

Hang Jiabai thought about it and didn't object.

Lin Shuyue rented a car from a car rental agency and drove towards Taijiang Prison.

Hang Jiabai returned to the unit and after finishing his work, he got up and went to the archive room.

The archives officer who managed the archives saw Hang Jiabai coming and greeted him. Hang Jiabai nodded and said, "I want to see the files around 1994. You go ahead and do your thing. Don't worry about me."

"Okay, it's over there. Captain Hang, take your time to look at it." The archive police pointed to a shelf inside.

Hang Jiabai walked to the shelf and quickly found the file of the "Shuanglin Village Wife-Murder Case" that Lin Shuyue mentioned.

After a quick look through it, he took the file and left the archive room.

At this time, Lin Shuyue also arrived at Taijiang Prison.
