James handed over a copy of the technique to both Faldon and Liz. He wanted to ensure they could keep getting stronger and fully utilize the formations he'd made them.
Cultivation in each realm required different things but one thing that remained constant was the need for mana. In the Mana Gathering realm, cultivators absorb as much mana as they can to help them build a strong foundation in the Foundation Establishment realm. The more mana a cultivator ends up being able to absorb, the stronger and more stable their foundation will become. However, once a cultivator creates a mana core and enters the Core Formation realm, they can begin to absorb more mana into their body and with each realm that follows, the cultivator is able to absorb more mana.
Faldon and Liz, using the sects usual cultivation technique would end up slowing down their cultivation since they would be gathering regular mana filled with impurities and then would have to use the formation to purify it. However, with the perfected version from James, they would be able to save time on the purification process. With that, the formation would act more as a cultivation aid than a simple purification device.
Faldon read through the technique and couldn't believe his eyes. Their sect's cultivation technique had been passed down for hundreds of years, going through many cycles of tempering throughout that time. But now, this disciple of his, who was barely 10 years old, created a technique far superior to it.
'This disciple of mine is one surprise after another. How in heaven's name did he take the sect's technique and perfect it to this level? This technique contains hidden concepts that make even my head hurt…could I have been wrong? Is he not simply blessed by heaven but a reincarnated immortal being? That would explain this insane ability to perfect cultivation techniques with concepts he should not have come into contact with at his current level. It could also explain how he's able to call a Heavenly Tribulation so often.'
Faldon's mind was a storm of thoughts. His disciple, who was still a child, had broken the norm time and time again.
'As long as he's not plotting against the sect then everything will be fine. Besides, what reason would a lofty immortal being have to plot against a small sect like ours?'
Liz on the otherhand had become numb to James' impossible feats. She accepted the technique and after reading through it once, she gratefully put it away to learn later.
"Thank you Junior brother, i'll be sure to learn the technique."
"Haha good, if you have any questions let me know. Also, the technique should resonate well with the mana gathered by the formation so hopefully your cultivation speed will increase. That way I can continue to rely on Senior sister to protect me in the future."
James had a large smile on his face while he shamelessly said this. He was indeed hoping to help her and his master grow stronger so he could continue to live a peaceful life.
Liz smiled and then made her way back home to replace the Mana Gathering formation in her house and to learn the new technique.
Faldon also left soon after to do the same. He was very eager to see just how strong this technique his disciple had created was. He himself was known as a talent of the sect and having a more advanced cultivation technique should if nothing else better help to showcase this.
The following month proceeded without issue. Both Faldon and Liz had set up their new formations but were still struggling to learn the new technique. At the rate they were comprehending, it will take them at least another 5 to 7 years of practice to full master it. However, even with their current level of understanding, their cultivation had sped up by nearly 40%.
James had spent this time continuing his practice of formations. He also had spent a lot of time training his fist technique. Since Liz was busy learning the cultivation technique he'd given her, he had lost his sparring partner. He knew he'd eventually spar with her again and continue training his sword technique so he spent this alone time trying to help his fist technique catch up.

'So that letter from the Drifting Clouds sect's Sect leader may not have been false. I've observed this entire tournament but the disciples here are all far inferior to even the Outer disciples back at the Immortal Sword sect. I should just reward the winnner with a minor technique and then go see if the one i'm looking for is at that sect.'
The 6 sect tournament had just ended and the winner was from the second strongest sect of the group, the Flowering Plains sect. With the Drifting Clouds sect withdrawing from the competition, the tournament ended far sooner than expected. While the other 4 sects: the Green Snake sect, the Amber Rose sect, the Deep Ocean sect and the Purple Mountain sect, had all produced decent talents, they were just slightly inferior to the Flowering Plains sect's top disciple.
The closing ceremony was led by the collective group of Sect leaders, each giving encouraging speeches to their disciples.
Valeria, the Mahayama realm cultivator, then spoke a few words with the Sect leader of the Flowering Plains sect. While he was exceeedingly disappointed that she decided not to join them nor take the winning disciple under her wing, he was still pleasantly surprised to get a more advanced soul cultivation technique.
It had to be said that cultivating ones' soul was very difficult and time consuming but once it reaches a certain threshold, the cultivator will be able to step into the Soul Formation realm. While all the Minor sects present had Nascent Soul techniques which allowed them to slowly cultivate their soul, using a higher level technique will not only speed up the process but also make the soul much stronger in comparison.
After dealing with the Minor sects, Valeria stood up and without another word, disappeared from everyones' sight as if she was never even there.
