Chapter 26 - Another Innate Full Soul Power

Xiao Wu pouted but could only nod, her eyes rolling as she secretly regretted it.

She hadn't expected to run into such a powerful opponent right after stepping out of the Star Dou Great Forest. She regretted not forming a soul ring earlier before coming to the academy.

Seeing Xiao Wu admit defeat, Xiao Yan relaxed his grip and casually retracted his Martial Soul.

Xiao Wu stood up and looked at Xiao Yan. "You're so powerful. What level is your innate soul power?"

Xiao Yan replied calmly, "I have innate full soul power. Maybe my strength and speed are a bit higher."

"You also have innate full soul power? No wonder you're so strong," Xiao Wu said, a bit surprised.

What's said without intent is often understood with meaning.

Xiao Yan didn't expect that this little sister in front of him actually possessed the extremely rare talent of innate full soul power.

Based on the information he had about Martial Souls, Xiao Wu was probably quite extraordinary.

Martial Souls depend heavily on bloodline inheritance, and mutations are rare.

Since Xiao Wu has innate full soul power, aside from the unlikely chance of Martial Soul mutation (like winning a lottery), her background must be very special.

Besides that, Xiao Yan thought of something else.

If Xiao Wu's rabbit Martial Soul wasn't extremely powerful, then she must meet what the master said — she must have a second powerful Martial Soul.

A twin Martial Soul awakener? Xiao Wu might be the fourth such person on this continent in a hundred years.

Xiao Yan guessed that this Xiao Wu was likely a wealthy family's young lady out on training.

Her body flexibility and speed far surpassed Wang Sheng.

Only her name seemed a bit ordinary, not quite fitting for a big family's taste.

But maybe it was casually made up to hide her identity.

A mere border town actually gathered two genius soul masters...

Xiao Yan suddenly thought of a fantastic possibility.

Could Xiao Wu be here looking for me?

He too was from a big family, though living rough now, his background couldn't be faked.

Taken as a baby, he was probably some noble family's young master. Lost for so many years, someone should have come looking by now.

After this thought flashed by, Xiao Yan couldn't help but laugh — this probability was even lower than a Martial Soul mutation.

Shaking off some thoughts, Xiao Yan asked, "Wang Sheng, can you introduce me to the academy's situation?"

He just arrived and was assigned to protect his roommates, so naturally, he needed to know more about the academy.

Wang Sheng said, "We work-study students are basically responsible for cleaning the academy. Specific tasks are assigned by the teachers in charge of us. The academy has six grades, one class per grade.

You, the boss, and Xiao Wu are newcomers, so you're both first-year students. The rest of us are at least third-year, and I just advanced to sixth-year. Classes are held in the morning, and afternoons are for self-training.

Usually, there are two morning classes: one cultural knowledge class and one Martial Soul class. Work-study students mostly have tasks in the afternoon to earn a little income for food."

After finishing, Wang Sheng briefly introduced the other work-study students to Xiao Yan. Among them, Wang Sheng had the best innate Martial Soul.

Not only was his Beast Martial Soul a king among beasts with strong combat power, but his soul power was already at level nine. One more level and he could participate in the soul beast hunt at graduation to obtain a soul ring and improve his title.

At this moment, a teacher in his thirties walked in: "New work-study students, come here."

Xiao Yan and Xiao Wu walked over.

The teacher was average-looking with light green hair and held a quilt: "Who's Xiao Yan?"

Xiao Yan stepped forward, a bit confused.

The teacher said, "I'm Mo Hen. You can call me Teacher Mo. Xiao Yan, this quilt is from the master for you."

"The master gave this?"

That master was really persistent — wasn't he trying to take over?

Xiao Yan took the brand-new quilt and pulled out a gold soul coin from his pocket, handing it to Teacher Mo: "Please thank the master for me. This gold soul coin, please pass it to him."

"A gold soul coin!" Teacher Mo was surprised that a work-study student casually pulled out a gold soul coin.

For a commoner family, this was no small amount.

"Is it not enough?"

Although he knew school things were expensive, if one gold soul coin wasn't enough, that would be ridiculously pricey.

Teacher Mo took the gold soul coin and waved his hand: "It's enough, it's enough. Xiao Yan, you and Xiao Wu are first-year work-study students. You'll be responsible for cleaning the south garden of the playground. Ten copper soul coins a day. Remember, cleaning every day. Especially remove all the trash, or your wages will be deducted. If you slack off, the academy has the right to expel you. Understand?"

Xiao Yan and Xiao Wu nodded simultaneously to show they understood.

Though ten copper soul coins weren't little, the garden area was large, and two kids had a fair amount of work.

"Tomorrow is the opening ceremony. Classes officially start the day after tomorrow. First-years have classes on the first floor of the teaching building, classroom one. Be on time starting the day after tomorrow and continue your work normally. I will do random inspections. Alright, you may rest now. Wang Sheng, you're the senior here, explain the rules to them."

With that, Teacher Mo turned and left.

Looking at the quilt in Xiao Yan's hands, Xiao Wu showed a little embarrassment: "The quilt... this seems to be a problem..."

Work-study students come from poor families and are usually much more sensible than noble offspring.

Wang Sheng smiled and suggested to Xiao Wu: "Xiao Wu, you can use my bedding first. I'll just half spread the quilt."

Xiao Wu glanced at Wang Sheng's bedding in the direction he pointed. It wasn't especially dirty, but it was ragged... well...

"Wang Sheng, thanks for the kindness," Xiao Wu shook her head, then looked at the bedding in Xiao Yan's hands. "Xiao Yan, how about we discuss something?"

Xiao Yan understood right away. Xiao Wu was obviously dissatisfied with Wang Sheng's worn bedding and preferred the clean set he had.

"Go ahead," Xiao Yan calmly placed his bedding on the bed.

Xiao Wu smiled, rubbing her hands: "Your bedding looks big enough; it shouldn't be a problem for two people to share. How about this? We push our beds together, so we both have bedding."

"Sounds good," Xiao Yan nodded and agreed.

Together they pushed the beds side by side and then spread the bedding.

The quilt was large enough to cover both beds.

Xiao Wu put her bag in the gap between the two beds: "Put your bag here too. This is the boundary. If you cross it, don't blame me for being rude."

"Being rude?" Xiao Yan chuckled, "You?"
