Chapter 37 - Aizen’s reaction

Gin's smirk faltered, and for the first time in a long while, his body tensed.

"Impossible… I didn't feel a spike in reiatsu…"Slowly, he looked up—and sure enough, Mohit hadn't moved. His posture was unchanged. Still meditating. But the air had changed.Gin turned slightly to retreat—he could vanish into the trees, melt into the dark like he always did—But it was already too late.shhhhk—clickFrom every surface, hundreds of shimmering threads rose into view, glowing faintly like thin veins of light. They wrapped around him in layers, locking his limbs, torso, even the ends of his sleeves—a cocoon of judgment, drawn tight by 1,000 silent spiders.

Gin froze in place, only his lips twitching into that familiar smile.

"Captain Mohit… don't you think this is a bit much? I'm just a lowly 9th seat, y'know," he said, voice laced with false calm.

Mohit opened one eye.His voice was cold. Controlled. Empty.

"Shut it, brat."

Gin's grin didn't vanish—but it froze.

"You think I didn't notice? You've been crawling around my barracks like a worm for weeks. Spying. Watching. Writing."

Mohit stood up, dusting off his robe, the moonlight catching the faint edge of something in his hand."And I let you. Because I wanted to see who you were writing for. That part wasn't hard to guess."He stepped forward slowly."Aizen's lapdog, huh?"Gin's mouth opened for a retort—but the words didn't come.Mohit didn't yell. He didn't scream. But every word dropped like weight."You run his errands. Watch his prey. Lick his boots. You, and that blind fool you call a partner."Gin's grin had faded completely now. He was frozen. Because deep down, he hadn't expected Mohit to say Aizen's name.Mohit stepped closer, and now the cold metal glint of a knife gleamed in his hand.It wasn't a zanpakutō.It was just a plain, human knife—worn, scarred,He crouched beside Gin, leaning in until they were face to face. His voice dropped to a whisper."You know, kid… this is the same knife I used to take my eyes."Gin blinked. His body tensed.Mohit's tone didn't change."Haven't used it since. It's clean. Still sharp. Still remembers pain."He brought the blade up—not touching, just letting the flat side brush just past Gin's cheek. Close enough to feel the cold.So let me say this clearly…""You ever come back here again. You ever crawl through my shadows. You ever breathe near my people…"Mohit's voice slowed to a hiss:"You won't leave with eyes."The silence that followed was like a chasm.Even the wind had stopped.Gin swallowed. He didn't respond and didn't move. Then—finally—Mohit stepped back and snapped his fingers.shhhfff—The silk threads unraveled, pulling away like mist in the morning sun. The spiders scattered again into the corners of the barracks.Gin stood still, trying to find his breath.Mohit turned, already walking back toward the courtyard's center.

"Take your notebook and go."Gin bent down slowly, picked up the notebook with trembling fingers.Just before leaving, he turned back once, his smirk trying to return—but it was hollow."…You're scarier than the rumors say, taichō."Mohit didn't answer. He sat down, cross-legged again. Eyes closed. And with a whisper, the spiders vanished once more.

Three nights later.

Rain fell like broken glass across the windows of a quiet hall within Squad 2's inner archive chamber—an abandoned annex where dust never settled right, and shadows never behaved.

Inside, Aizen stood silently, his back to the entrance, facing an old wall of hollow scrolls. Tōsen sat nearby, reading an incantation over a sealed soul core. The ritual chamber stank of iron and wet ink.The wooden door creaked open.

Gin walked in, coat damp, eyes half-lidded—still holding that lazy grin, but there was a tightness to it now, something off

He closed the door behind him.Aizen didn't turn around."You're late," he said softly, calm as still water.Gin shrugged, water dripping from his sleeve "Had to wait till the silk came off, ya know. He's got some tricky pets."Aizen turned halfway now, looking at Gin over his shoulder. So… did you see it?"

Gin's smile flickered."No. Not even a peek of it."A long pause."Then what did you learn?"Gin sighed and stepped closer, his voice lower now."He knew I was watchin' him from the start. Played dumb for a week. Let me think I was bein' clever.""Then he caught me," Gin added, his voice flattening.Tōsen looked up now, silent, attentive.Aizen's brow barely moved. "How?"Gin hesitated."Spiders. Thousands of them. He kept his shikai active for a week without lettin' his reiatsu spike. Whole squad 10 base was weaved up in silk like a damned cocoon. He watched me through their eyes. While pretending to meditate."Gin looked directly at Aizen now. The smile was gone.

"He trapped me. Made me sit still. Then walked over… with a knife. Not a zanpakutō. A knife."Aizen turned fully now, slowly stepping toward Gin. His face still unreadable.

"He said it was the same knife he used… to take his own eyes."

Even Tōsen tensed slightly.

Gin exhaled."He didn't attack me. Didn't report me. Just said… if I ever came back, I wouldn't leave with mine."A heavy silence hung in the room now, thick as smoke."He knows, doesn't he?" Tōsen finally said. "About us."

Gin nodded. "He knew I was your subordinate . Knew you and I were workin' together. Knew about Tōsen, too. He didn't flinch sayin' it."

Aizen turned away again, slowly placing his hand on the wall of scrolls. His reflection blinked faintly in the soaked glass of the window beside him."Fascinating."Gin raised an eyebrow.and said "You're not worried?"Aizen's voice dropped lower, almost pleased."No… in fact, I'm more curious now than ever.""A man who willingly blinds himself. Who survives a bankai demonstration that nearly kills him. Who manipulates thousand spiders . Who hides his shikai activation I believe other captain have not noticed it to…"

He turned slightly again, eyes gleaming behind the lenses."He's aware of me and knows about you two hmm I don't think i left any holes in my plan then how ..aizen remained silent "Gin didn't speak.Tōsen broke the silence. "Should we eliminate him?"Aizen considered this for a long time. Then shook his head. It's not that easy tosen he's a captain and we are not yet at that level
