Chapter 18 - A date? Visiting the city! [Bonus - 20K words milestone!]

Entering the core zone, Justin saw the remaining elders alongside their disciples.

He handed some healing pills to the elders who seemed hurt, ignoring the rest.

Amelia was fine, allowing him to breathe in relief. With the danger gone, the disciples were kicked out.

They were given tasks to complete, like cleaning the corpses and rubble around the sect.

Of course, everything was paid, considering it wasn't a charity.

"Most of the outer disciples are dead, so I think that we should begin recruiting once again."

The elders sat around Dandurff as he began speaking.

"Do you just allow them?!" Justin asked, frowning at the statement.

He thought the sect would have at least some sort of test to see who's qualified and who's not.

Dandurff responded, "Anything else you would suggest?", not denying Justin's question.

"God, no wonder they were cowardly and spinless!" Justin responded, laughing out loud. He suddenly asked, "Can I suggest some requirements?"

"Sure, if everyone here agrees." Dandruff's words caused everyone to nod.

Justin's support was great, earning him his reputation the moment he entered the sect.

While some of them didn't like him, they didn't wish to refuse openly. On the other hand, they liked his generosity and feared losing it.

"Let's start with their courage, can we hire some formation masters while we are at it?"

Justin asked, proceeding to explain.

He wished to put the applicants through extreme situations inside the illusions and see how they behave.

Not only that, he wanted a completely new section for the tests, meaning they needed to expand.

"Suppose we do, but who's paying? We are not as rich as you, Daoist Justin." Rey responded, shaking his head.

"Who else? The fools who attacked us." Justin laughed, pausing for a second, "Even if that's not enough, I can fill in what remains!"

He was referring to the spirit rings and wealth they had on their corpses, believing they were rich.

Dandurff responded, "Consider it done, but it will be your responsibility.", but Justin had no intention of going along.

"Sure, sure." He nodded, planning to throw that responsibility to one of the elders he knew.

The 'meeting' continued for a few more minutes as each elder was given a task to handle.

Justin made more suggestions and requirements for the new disciples.

He even suggested new ranks to allow some of the rubbish to enter the sect as servants.

Finally, the auction's invasion arrived, pushing Justin to set the stage for his plan.

He bid his farewell, intending to visit the city.

He was going to select the formation master by himself, hire some actors to assist him in the auction, and take his shares from the Varalis family while he was at it.

"Elder Justin," Amelia's voice arrived from behind him, prompting him to face her.

He responded with a smile, "Yes, Amelia.", no longer addressing her the same way as before.

He treated her nicely. Being handsome with a heartwarming smile caused her cheeks to turn rosy.

"Can we chat a little?" She asked, her quiet, thin voice prompting him to giggle.

He answered, "Unfortunately, no. I'm about to visit the city.", pausing for a moment to consider.

He was busy, but he didn't wish to let go of such an opportunity.

He chose to delay hiring the actors until the auction in return for spending some quality time with her.

"But how about you come along?" He continued, thinking of taking her on a date.

While the concept might be strange to cultivators, he had enough experience to allow her some good time.

Amelia nodded, granting her approval. He smiled, summoning the Space Cleaver.

He stood on the front, gesturing for her to stand behind him.

Suddenly, he intentionally took off with a speed mismatching his cultivation.

It made her hold him tightly, embracing him and burying her face into his back as he smiled proudly.

He assured, "Just a few more minutes and we will be there.", delaying their arrival to enjoy the profound feeling.

A few minutes passed, and Justin lowered his speed as they approached the city gates.

He dived down slowly, landed on the ground, and hid his sword.

The guards remembered Justin, allowing them to enter the city right away.

"I will treat you to a meal, then we can chat while we are eating," Justin announced as Amelia nodded her head.

They strolled through the streets, looking for a fancy restaurant, one better than the one he had already visited before.

Suddenly, Amelia spoke while they were moving, pointing to the ride side.

"This one is great!"

Justin nodded, believing her excitement and trusting her knowledge.

They took a turn, eventually arriving at their destination.

They entered the restaurant, both surprised it was lively compared to what she claimed.

"It's fine, we will get a private room," Justin announced, unwilling to deal with potential fools.

He fetched a spirit jade and handed it to the servant, ordering him to lead the way.

The jade covered all the fees, they went upstairs before selecting a table placed far on the side, near the windows.

It wasn't comparable to a modern restaurant, but it sufficed. There were other tables, each placed far away from the other.

Some Soul Realm experts stood assigned as guards to prevent troublesome interaction.

Justin helped her settle down, impressing her with his courtesy.

"Were you serious back then?" Amelia asked, referring to when he claimed he liked her.

Justin naturally understood, he smirked, "It's a little past 'like' now.", he said in a playful tone, curious about her response.

"Does that mean I'm free to call you Justin directly?" She responded, seemingly no longer hiding her feelings.

It didn't seem like love to Justin, but rather familiarity and interest.

However, he considered it a good start.

He answered, "Of course, if it makes you happy." This caused her to blush again.

A few minutes passed, and their ordered food arrived, prompting them to feast.

Once they were done, Justin asked, "Are you prepared for the secret realm? There might be people you once knew."

"Yes, I'm!" Amelia nodded, knowing the central continent cultivators wouldn't waste such an opportunity.

She continued, "What about you?", curious about his side.

"Nothing much, I won't bother them unless they seek me," Justin responded, knowing she had no idea about the truth.

He continued, "I think it's about time to tell you.", planning to tell her about his transmigration.

"You've previously asked what a truck is, it's a ship that walks on land." Amelia nodded her head, prompting him to continue.

He continued his story, explaining how he got hit by the truck, died, found himself in his current body, and its troublesome past.

He left everything regarding the system, keeping it to himself.

"Ooooh," Amelia muttered, feeling amazed.

She believed him but didn't know what to say as the story sounded like a fairy tale.

"It's fine, I may take you there one day." Justin smiled, knowing he was able to go beyond others thanks to the system.

Dao experts could easily mobilize and manipulate laws, making him hope such a thing was possible.

She nodded, shouting, "I would love to!", painting a smile on Justin's face.

"With pleasure, but it's about time we find some formation masters." Justin stood up and took the lead.

She pulled him, crossing their arms as they left the restaurant.

Justin felt good even though he knew she did to avoid attracting flies.

One thing was for sure: he knew she was already satisfied with his actions.
