"Quiet!"
Kirisu Mafuyu's sharp voice cut through the chatter, reminding the girls below of their ice-cold teacher's presence.
The students immediately snapped their mouths shut, falling silent.
Once the room settled, Mafuyu's gaze swept across the classroom before locking onto a seat near the back by the window.
"Lin Yue, you'll take that seat over there, next to Tobiichi Origami."
"Got it."
With a nod, Lin Yue stepped down from the podium and made his way to his new desk.
Under the watchful eyes of the class, he settled into the empty seat.
Now that the matter was settled, the other girls had no choice but to reluctantly accept it, though that didn't stop a few from stealing lingering glances at him.
Among them were Kitagawa Marin and another strikingly beautiful blonde Eriri Spencer Sawamura.
"Hey, I'm—"
Lin Yue had barely begun introducing himself to his new desk mate, Origami, when the girl cut him off with lightning speed.
"I know. I'm Tobiichi Origami."
"No need for small talk. Let's get married."
Her expression remained completely deadpan as she delivered the words rapid-fire.
"Huh?"
Lin Yue blinked, staring at her in utter confusion.
"Marriage. As in, we should go get married."
"Or do you want a child first, then get married?"
"That's fine too. Today's not a safe day, so let's go all the way and make sure it takes!"
Origami's tone was eerily calm, as if she were discussing the weather—not casually dropping words like "pregnancy" without a hint of embarrassment.
Truly worthy of the legendary "Origami Master," Lin Yue thought wryly, the kind of girl who could casually pull out "computer accessories" at a moment's notice.
Frowning, he studied her with suspicion.
Her reaction was way too intense for a first meeting—like she already had some kind of deep attachment to him.
This feels familiar…
Probably the same situation as with Mio.
But right now, he needed to rein her in before she actually tried something in the middle of class.
"Ahem. Tobiichi—"
"Origami."
"Call me Origami."
Her voice was firm, but then—uncharacteristically—a faint blush dusted her cheeks as she shyly added:
"Of course, I'd be even happier if you called me 'darling' or 'wifey'!"
"Yeah… no thanks."
Lin Yue's eye twitched in exasperation.
"Alright, Origami."
"No need to explain, I get the gist of the situation."
"But right now, I haven't returned to that timeline yet, so…"
He didn't need to spell it out. Origami clearly understood.
Sure enough, the moment he spoke, Origami's slender frame trembled slightly. Her sapphire-blue eyes glistened with unshed tears as she fought to keep herself from crying.
Then, without warning, she leaned her entire weight against him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Finally… I've seen you again, Yue."
After a brief moment of soaking in his warmth, she quickly straightened up—just as Kirisu Mafuyu began preparing for class.
Even so, Origami kept her textbook open but never once looked at it. Her gaze remained fixed on Lin Yue beside her.
He couldn't exactly scold her for it, so he let her be.
As for the actual lesson? Lin Yue wasn't paying attention at all.
His focus was entirely on his system.
Scrolling through the notifications, he saw a flood of messages about intimacy points:
[Ding! Interaction with Itsuka Kotori—Intimacy Points +30]
[Ding! Interaction with Mio—Intimacy Points +10]
...
[Ding! Interaction with Tobiichi Origami—Intimacy Points +10]
[Ding! Interaction with Tobiichi Origami—Intimacy Points +50]
From the pattern, it was clear—the deeper the interaction, the more points he earned.
Perfect. Exactly what I wanted.
Checking his current total, Lin Yue saw 540 points—then immediately winced when he saw the cost for a single "Ascension" of the Cosmic Heart.
The number stretched into the tens of digits.
My stomach hurts just looking at this… No, wait, now my kidneys are aching too.
Screw it. Not gonna torture myself.
He swiftly exited the system and switched over to the chat group, where things were buzzing with activity.
Several members had even tagged him:
Poison Ivy Heir: @NearlyOmnipotent Bro, you're insane!
Vase leader: @NearlyOmnipotent Can I cling to your leg?
Young Miss of the East: @NearlyOmnipotent Teach me how to train!
Inazuma Shadow Warrior: …Stronger than even me.
Goddess of the Moon: Why am I only "Country-Level"?! The gap's too big!
Seeing this, Lin Yue remembered—the group also displayed power rankings for its members.
Curious, he pulled up the others' stats.
Aside from Saeko Busujima and Saintess, who were still ordinary humans, the rest were anything but.
The remaining three members' power rankings were: Artemis, Raiden Ei, and Dongfang Huaizhu, each at Country-Level, City-Level, and Building-Level destruction capabilities, respectively.
Of course, the strongest in the group right now was none other than Lin Yue himself.
NearlyOmnipotent: "Ahem, just got a little lucky. No need to be so shocked."
Young Miss of the East: "Whoa! The big boss has appeared!"
Poison Ivy Heir: "Boss, are you done with school already?"
NearlyOmnipotent: "I told you, no need to call me 'boss.' Just use my name."
NearlyOmnipotent: "Still in class, but the lesson's boring, so I'm killing time here!"
Vase leader: "Ah, I see! Since you're here, Mr. Lin Yue, don't forget to check out the group's daily check-in feature!"
Inazuma's Shadow: "Indeed. Even though you only get a few to a dozen points per check-in, they add up. You can use them for lottery draws, shop purchases, or enhancements."
NearlyOmnipotent: "Thanks for the tip!"
Lin Yue quickly navigated to the check-in section.
[Ding! Congratulations, NearlyOmnipotent, for successfully checking in! Reward: 100 points!]
Vase Leader: "Huh?!"
Inazuma's Shadow Warrior: "What?!"
Poison Ivy heir: "Looks like Lin Yue's luck is insane!"
NearlyOmnipotent: "Is this the max?"
Inazuma's Shadow: "Absolutely! Daily check-ins give 1 to 100 points randomly—hitting 100 right away is like winning the lottery!"
Young Miss of the East: "Yeah, most of us get around 10-ish. Sometimes even single digits. I've never seen 100 before!"
Goddess of the Moon: "UNFAIR! Why does he get 100 right away while I only got 2?! 😭"
NearlyOmnipotent: "LOL."
Young Miss of the East: "(Snickers)"
Poison Ivy heir: "Artemis, you're officially the unluckiest one here. (Smile)"
Vase Leader: "Oh, right! I almost forgot to explain how points work!"
Vase Leader: "Right now, you can use them for lottery draws, enhancements, or buying stuff from the shop! Make sure to check it out!"
Lottery & Enhancement? More Like Pain & Suffering
Following Saintess' advice, Lin Yue opened the lottery section.
The rules were simple
Six tiers of draws:
Basic (100 pts)
Intermediate (1,000 pts)
Advanced (10,000 pts)
Special (100,000 pts)
Divine (1,000,000 pts)
Godly (10,000,000 pts)
Higher tiers = better rewards.
"Not bad," he mused.
Then he checked the enhancement feature—only to immediately close it after seeing the 30+ zeros required to boost his stats.
"Holy hell, this is worse than my 'Ascension' system!"
"Forget this. I'm better off sticking with my own cheat."
For now, this feature was useless to him.
