A tall boy, around their age, in the same black uniform came in. He had pushed his hat back like them so his face could show.
He was slender in build, making the uniform a bit baggy for him.
He stood at the door nervously as he alternated his gaze between Elias and Sasha. "Please introduce yourself, including age and your fighting style," Sasha gently asked.
"Ahm..." he was nervous, before he took a deep breath and said, "I'm Sani Elvin, age 20, and I'm a trap maker. I use explosives more often, but I use fist fights with iron gloves if cornered."
"Sasha Thunderspark, age 17, and my only fighting style is shooting. Talent is Thunderspark Lightning!" Sasha introduced herself.
"Call me Buddhist Hand SS8. Master hand-to-hand combatant. My talent is Buddha Path!"
"Red Bodyguard. Talent Gravity!" Elias said.
Sani felt at ease and said, "My Talent is Circle Switch."
Sasha nodded and asked, "Buddhist Hand said you have joined two teams and fought two beasts and you are the only one that didn't get injured. Why is that?"
"Well, there are two reasons. One is I was never at the front; I was at the back sending explosives to distract the beast. And two, my talent allows me some kind of teleportation that helps me escape danger."
Sani Elvin continued to explain his talent. It wasn't outright normal teleportation but very close if one followed the rules.
Sasha was convinced of his ability. And the fact that in the previous hunt he had contributed well meant he could stand his ground.
"Please, join us!" She beamed. With a sigh, he went and sat on the fourth chair facing Buddhist Hand. Now only one remained.
Buddhist Hand stared at him, making him uncomfortable. "You are not the main attacking member anymore but a support. She, Sasha, is the main attacker. Our goal is to distract the beast for her lightning to do the job."
Sani nodded.
"But can his talent affect humans?" Elias asked. In the explanation, he could teleport things short distances around him where he designated, but no humans were mentioned in his explanation.
"I can. I didn't tell the other team because it is draining for me. I can only teleport a human other than myself four times."
"Will there be an effect on the person you are teleporting?"
"No. They won't even feel the change until about 3 seconds later. They will feel as if they have been there all along!" Sani explained further.
"Can you demonstrate?" Elias demanded.
Sani stood firm. Sasha too stood; she had to be standing and also not moving. Then, his eyes glowed for a moment, and they switched places.
Even Elias, sitting, tilted his head. There was no wind that stirred, no sound, no difference in Sasha's expression until moments later as she beamed with a smile.
Sani panted, sweat on his forehead. "She is heavy. The higher the potential, the higher the difficulty. But I can still do it three more times."
"Maybe you should start exercising!" Elias commented with a straight face.
"Yes, I will," Sani replied, but Elias added, "You are too heavy," his eyes on Sasha. Confused at first, her eyes widened, and she grabbed a piece of wood and threw it at him.
Elias dodged, laughing.
"Who will be our fifth member?" Buddhist Hand asked.
Elias leaned back, his arms folded and eyes closed. He knew no one, so this conversation was not for him.
"Well, we need to see the willing candidates and whose talents will be effective against the beasts we are going to face." Sasha said
"Maybe we need another damage dealer or someone with effective defense to protect you!" Buddhist Hand said as he stood up.
They left the tent and came outside where a bunch of newly ranked-one awakened stood. They became silent when they saw the team looking at them. In their hands were papers with brief introductions of what their talents could do.
Buddhist collected them, about 6 of them, and went through them. He showed no expression, but the way his eyes stopped reading after a few glances told Elias if he was interested or not.
He moved toward the team, away from the ears of the candidates. "Only two of them seem effective. A B-rank Piercing Arrow Talent and someone from the Blademourn Family."
The Blademourn Family was another Noble Family of Five Leaf Clover. They specialized in using weapons to achieve incredible feats.
"Will the arrow be effective?" Sasha asked.
"She is good, but it can only serve as a distraction," Sani said. He seemed to know her. "But the Blademourn is able to cut anything. I don't know their rank though."
"Call the Blademourn!" Sasha said.
Buddhist Hand nodded too. "Someone from their family even talked to me, but I said I'm nothing but a support. It will be your decision."
The moment Elias saw who it was, he said, "Nope. We don't want him!"
Sani was startled by the way Elias reacted. Sasha sighed, and Buddhist Hand understood too.
"She, Elias. She is a she!" Sasha corrected. Elias was taken aback; the person before him, or to be precise, the overgrown person was female. After a second of scrutiny, he noticed it. She was indeed a she.
"It doesn't matter if she or he. We don't want them!" Elias added with conviction.
But there was hesitation in Sasha and also Buddhist Hand, and Elias understood what they were feeling. Noble families were powerful and should not be easily turned down.
"Can we speak privately?" Sasha asked Elias.
Elias smiled. "Sasha Thunderspark, you should know that in hunting and exploration, always take people that you know beyond reasonable doubt will never turn their backs on you!"
His voice was loud enough for the Blademourn lady to hear, as well as Sani beside him.
Elias's reaction was justified because the Blademourn was Dicing Edge.
"If someone can leave their comrades and run away during battle, then that person is not worth being part of our team!" Elias added, his gaze fixed on the tomboy before them.
