"Why?"
Satoya asked, his face covered in blood as if his head was a canvas painted on by a scarlet brush. He had been forced to kill several people, who he now realized were innocent people framed by the blood stained blonde haired man before him. Upon closer inspection, the blonde haired man gave off an similar "presence" compared to Rin, although Rin felt more "alien" and ethereal, the man before him felt weaker, but malevolent and sinister.
They were inside an odd laboratory room, where the walls were stained in blood that had been washed off poorly. There were glass vials shattered on the floor, yet never cleaned up. The sink was eternally leaking a small droplet of water from the rusty faucet. Another sound of constant banging on an metallic door where he assumed to be an containment chamber kept ringing through his mind like bells in a church.
Microscopes of all sizes littered the flooring, and the research desks around. The smell in the air was a morbid, disgusting putrid scent of decomposing bodies that he will likely never grow accustomed to.
He never would have thought there would be a scenario where he would be forced to work under someone. But was it forced? Did he come willingly? He didn't understand. All he could do was look down on the floor, where a decapitated man's head was left.
Despite his best efforts to simply look away, there was an indescribable sensation of utter inhumanity radiating from the man. Was he even human? Argoreas, like the same dude he is now paranoid of due to him accidentally invading his "mansion" and is now probably going to be hunted for the rest of his life, Argoreas compared to the weird blonde haired man felt more human.
"Well, you are quite fortunate to be my new personal assistant.. Mr Truth Seeker. But it seems to me that you aren't quite fond of killing no? To help improve that, I'll simply have you kill a child." The blonde haired man spoke casually, Satoya wasn't sure whether he was indifferent or enjoying Satoya's predicament, and he had no choice but to gaze down at the decapitated head with his katana still dripping with blood.
Behind Satoya, working on some sort of a cyan "liquid" or project, was a woman with auburn hair in a lab coat. She appeared to be distracted, side eyeing Satoya through her depressed eyes. The woman began thinking briefly, distracting herself from the project. Truth Seeker? She thought, letting a droplet of the cyan liquid spill into the floor.
Satoya could only feel guilty about this entire situation, watching the blonde haired man start smiling sinisterly. But the man made another decision, "I'd like you to find Julius, who should be in hall 402. Julius is quite the rebellious one, and I've grown tired of him, so please neutralize him."
Satoya nodded reluctantly, taking one step at a time to leave the laboratory room. Leaving a trail of blood as he left. He could've sheathed his katana, but he understood he'll likely have to downright kill another person who likely did nothing wrong.
After he left, the blonde haired man laughed, leering at the woman in the auburn hair. He attempted to speak but was interrupted by the woman who spoke to him cold heartedly.
"You just want the blood of a Truth Seeker to create another pandemic like you had done ages ago in that disaster."
The man began clapping his hands in applause. He was impressed, although not exactly too impressed, as he had expected her to point that out. "What a smart one, you must be talking about the ichorblight! I must point out that I would've preferred to get my hands on a more powerful Truth Seeker."
He continued, his attitude changed into a more malicious one, "but remember, Yurina, I won't be too hasty with this attempt."
"Hasty? Oh please. You never gave us a fucking attempt. You out of boredom decided to collect 40 people of all ages every year and force them to kill each other." Yurina was infuriated, but also exhausted from the sheer thought of what she went through 7 years ago.
"I must say, making you inject your partner with a modified diluted blood vial caused the utmost intriguing reaction." He began spreading his arms wide, holding a small pair of round glasses on one hand. The sight of the glasses prompted her to throw the glass containing a bright orange liquid at the man, which exploded once it impacted his head, submerging his head in the liquid.
The man opened his eyes, proceeding to smile mildly, until a small chuckle escaped his lips. "C'mon it's been 6 years since then, no need to be so aggressive!" He laughed before his throat was suddenly slit open by a scalpel hidden in the woman's sleeve.
The man began to gag and cough out blood, even vomiting a fatal amount of the ichor. Blood gushed out of his slit open throat, staining his lab coat in red, and even the marbled floor. Yurina glared at him without any sense of anticipation, as if she was expecting something to happen.
The man however unexpectedly collapsed onto the ground. A pool of sanguine liquid flooded the floor from his neck. The sight of this made her eyes slowly glow in hope, yet that glowing hope died down as soon as she remembered. So she simply decided to face the project she was working on, the cyan liquid was still placed in a pedestal, while what seemed to be flesh of a creature that was scaled with human hair was being boiled inside a clear liquid that was held over a fire.
The blonde haired man had begun to leisurely stand back up, scratching the part of his neck that was slit open. Which was now fully healed back into place.
He hummed an odd tune, before speaking happily, "I love those eyes of hope, it reminds me of those very eyes I saw when you were with Suya."
Yurina instantly reacted to that remark, her eyes were distraught and hostile, but her eyes also swelled up in tears ever so slightly.
