The top part of the knight directly disappeared, leaving only a hollow torso which collapsed to the ground. Lucien was surprised, he had actually been fighting and almost lost to a skeleton.
If that had been a real champion knight, perhaps he would still have lost even with the great gap in attributes. A champion knight was still a champion knight.
He tried to look for Selene and found her squatting morosely in the corner. He quickly walked over,
"Selene, are you hurt?" He checked her for wounds.
Selene looked at him with tears shining in her eyes, "Am too useless, my lord. I couldn't help even once when you were in danger."
Lucien sighed and bent down to pick her up, "Silly girl, what are you thinking?"
He patted her gently on the head, "You are not useless, okay."
He was surprised to see Selene's eyes widen in shock, she then pushed him out of the way, demonstrating incredible strength. And in Lucien's horrified gaze, the headless knight's sword landed on Selene's defenseless body.
Her body was sent flying, tumbling in the distance. Lucien's eyes widened in blazing fury, his buffs were activated unconsciously as he leapt at the headless knight. His fists pounded at the armor wearing skeleton, tearing it apart piece by piece.
His furious roars ceased the moment his wealth ran out and his strength lowered. This brought him back from his rage and cleared his mind. He quickly ran to her side, fearing the worst.
He knelt down at her side, surprised and gladdened by the lack of visible wounds. He was surprised to see a silvery light screen covering her entire body, it had protected her from the knight's blow.
He almost shed tears in relief, Selene was the first and only living being that he had interacted with in this world that didn't desire to kill him. He would be absolutely devastated if he brought her out of the estate only for her to die.
He looked at her peeacefully sleeping profile and grew curious about her origins. No normal person could have survived that knight's blow, or push him with ordinary strength. He approached the armor and found two platinum coins, which he fed into the system. He curiously appraised Selene, using 10 gold coins.

[Insufficient Energy for Physique Awakening]
Lucien was surprised. It was the first time he had seen that physique icon, and her attributes were definitely abnormal for a human, just like him.
What worried him was the awakening and insufficient energy for awakening. He needed to finish exploring and get out of here. Her physique sounded as if it was related to the moon, perhaps that would help.
He picked up Selene and tied her to his back then he made his way into the chamber beyond the hallway.
The chamber was wide and circular. It was illuminated by a glowing red crystal suspended midair on a circular platform in the center of the room.
The glow allowed Lucien to properly appraise the room in its entirety. Where the previous hallway had skeletons and armor, this room only had three occupants.
The first was clad in crimson robes. He lay on the altar at the center of the room. The other two were a breathtakingly beautiful lady with silver hair, She was clad in a silver robe and she sat facing the altar. It could be seen that she died with her eyes closed, her mien was peaceful and gentle.
The other was a handsome knight with golden hair. He sat together with the silver haired lady, both of their eyes closed and peaceful.
What caught Lucien's attention was the armor the golden haired night was wearing, it was etched with the sun piercing sword symbol, the symbol resembling the Aureville insignia.
Just as Lucien stepped into the room, several things happened. The crystal shout out a red light at the red robed man's corpse, and the man and woman's eyes opened.
The red robed man's eyes roved around the room and stopped at Lucien, "Is it time, did we succeed?"
At the same time, the man and woman too stared at Lucien.
Lucien looked at the red robed man in confusion.
The woman's silver eyes looked at Selene in Lucien's back and her eyes lit up. The man's too seemed to sense something when he looked at Lucien.
Suddenly, the priest's eyes widened, "No, I cannot sense the lord. No, what hapenned."
The couple's eyes lit up. They looked at Lucien, "Did we defeat the Memnonic Dreadlord?"
The couple seemed friendly and the man's sigil roused a sense of camaraderie in Lucien. So he replied.
"I don't know any Memnonic Warlord. Only the Argent Empire and its surrounding kingdoms. I saw the battle outside, the people are already crumbling dust, the warlord may have died long ago."
That seemed to snap the red robed man out of his manic state. He looked at Lucien wrathfully, "No, the warlord is mighty. He cannot die."
The couple was stunned to hear Lucien's words. The man then closed his eyes,
"Yes, I can feel the earth is different. The mana is different, less. And I can't feel my master." He seemed sad as he said the last sentence.
"it seemed that the war ended. We won. Our sacrifice was not in vain." The lady's words were sad and happy at the same time.
"No." The red robed priest screamed out in rage. "I'll get my lord back. I must."
He suddenly did something and the red crystal flashed. A surge of energy was drawn out of the crystal before it twisted and convulsed wildly, in no time a clone identical to the priest started forming from the mass of energy.
Lucien felt alarmed by the turn of events, and the couple too seemed to share his sentiments.
"He's creating a clone. He wants to bypass the seal." The woman said worriedly. The man was even more worried, "We don't know what state the world is in now. if they can bear it."
