"So, someone what to explain to me what the hell this is?!" Hank shouted.
Looking to get some answers.
"Because it looks like someone was trying to copy my work." Hank spoke.
"Is that what I think it is?" Peggy asked.
"Yes Peggy, it is. Straight from the Defense Division." Hank revealed. "I took a detour there after hearing about this little project from a few small friends. I thought of course it was nonsense but it looks like I was wrong." He spoke. "Stark, Carson, care to share?"
"Hank, just calm down." Howard spoke. Standing up from his chair.
"Howard, don't tell me to calm down." Hank instantly replied. "Now when I agreed to work with you all what was the only rule I had, hm? That I keep sole control of the Pym particles and the formulae. That was my only request. The only one. But it seems you all can't even stick to that."
"Enough, doctor Pym." Mitchell finally spoke. "You're a soldier-"
"-I'm a scientist first." Hank interrupted.
"Then look at this from a scientists perspective Hank." Howard said. "The Pym Particle is one of the most revolutionary scientific breakthroughs in all of history. Just think of all we could discover, all we could learn, if you studied it further."
"Oh, I have Howard. And I've also thought of the horrors and chaos that could occur." Hank replied. "So with that let me make this perfectly clear. If you continue your this course of research then I'm done here. With S.H.I.E.L.D. All of it." He spoke.
Giving the three in front of him an ultimatum.
"Heh." Mitchell snorted. "Oh, if only you had protected Janet with such ferocity Dr. Pym." He spoke.
Referring to Hank's wife, Janet Van Dyne, who had been lost on a mission a few months earlier.
Saying nothing Pym nodded his head.
Then before anyone could stop him he moved to Carson and slammed his head face first into the table, breaking the man's nose.
"Hank, that's enough!" Peggy spoke. Moving in to brake the pair up.
"Mention my wife again Mitchell, and you'll get more than a broken nose the next time we see each other." Hank warned the man. "On that note I hereby tender my resignation."
"No, wait. Hank, please. We can work this out." Peggy spoke.
"Sorry Peggy, but we this time we can't." Hank replied to his friend.
"Well, that's all well and good Hank but we don't accept your resignation." Howard said.
"Well too bad." Hank replied.
He then said nothing else as he walked out of the room.
"Call security." Mitchell spoke in a gravelly voice.
"Mitchell if you know what's good for you you'll quit while you're ahead." Howard spoke. "Hank just kicked your ass full-size. You really want to take him on when you won't see him coming? Listen, I've known Hank Pym a long time. He's no security risk."
"Howards right." Peggy added. "Leaving him be is what's best for all of us right now. We can try and talk to him again later."
Saying nothing Mitchell just grumbled, while tending to his broken nose.
While both Peggy and Howard were contemplating what would happen next now that S.H.I.E.L.D. had lost access to the Pym Particle, but more importantly the Ant-Man.

[Atlantic Ocean, I-Island]
Sitting in his personal lab, Gregory was going over one of his projects, at one of his workstations, when Athena began speaking to him.
"Important news for you sir. A few days ago Hank Pym had a falling out with S.H.I.E.L.D. and has apparently cut all ties with them." She explained.
"Thank your for letting me know Athena." Gregory replied.
Wondering if that same event would take place like it did in the films, and it turns out it did.
"Begin monitoring Hank Pym and everything going on around him." Gregory instructed his AI.
Since Hank Pym was too important a man not to keep eyes on.
Who thankfully wasn't a narcissistic domestic-abusing asshole like his Ultimate comic counterpart.
For if that were the case Gregory would've killed him the first chance he got and taken all of his research for himself.
No, the Hank Pym in this reality was closer to his MCU counterpart, with a slight mix from his mainstream Earth-616 counterpart. For the Hank Pym in this reality sported blonde hair and blue eyes, and also had slight mental issues like his mainstream counterpart.
Though nothing Pym wasn't managing.
But if Hank Pym ever stopped managing his mental condition is one of the numerous reasons Gregory was going to start surveilling the man. To say nothing of the fact he didn't want to chance anything to do with the Pym Particle and the Quantum Realm falling to the wrong hands.
Especially information about the Quantum Realm.
Since that place was not to be trifled with in the slightest.
The rules of regular space and time didn't apply there. To say nothing of the dangerous inhabitants that called it home, like Psycho-Man. Or if like in the MCU a version of Kang The Conqueror was hanging around that place. And any version of the Time Traveling Tyrant is not to be underestimated.
There's also the possibility Janet Pym could be a fucking quantum zombie like she was in the What If..? episode of Marvels animated television series.
Those are a few of the many reasons Gregory isn't even going to think of touching the Quantum Realm, and possibly getting into Hank Pym's good graces by helping the man work to save his wife, until he is overprepared.
Plus Gregory also wants to make a good impression on the man who was named Scientist Supreme by Eternity itself, one of the most powerful forces in existence, in the comics.
"Of course, Gregory." Athena replied.
She then left him alone.
Allowing Gregory to fully focus his attention back to his current project.
Until eventually he moved onto another.
Gregory continuing to work, doing that for the next few days.
He also trained with his new recruits, focused on setting up his company, made sure to stay connected with his family and friends, etc...
Until eventually in the blink of eye two years passed and the year 1991 arrived.
One that would start a major turning point in the lives of the Stark family and the world itself.
