It's late at night and my mind is reeling from everything that has happened today . I leave my bed and grab the candle that is lit on my side table. I open my door , a little late night stroll can't hurt. The hallway stretches forever, it seems until I get to the grand staircase. I descend the stairs and see a light through a door that's slightly cracked open . I peek in and see a massive library. Maybe I shouldn't be here ? I knock on the door just to be courteous . The door slides open and I find Tristan blocking the light. "I couldn't sleep and thought maybe a book would help." I tell him. With a nod he opens the sliding doors fully and lets me in . I shuffle pass him examining the books on the shelves . Will I even be able to read these? They can't be in human language. I pick a random book with a pretty purple binding and open it. At first it just looks like hieroglyphs but after a minute I seem to understand what I'm reading . It was a fairytale or so I thought. I find a place to sit and read the book . When I feel someone staring at me I look up and find Tristan standing in front of me.
"Can you read that princess ?"
"Weirdly yes, why do you ask."
"Because that book has been blank for a many centuries ."
"Blank?" I look down at the open book on my lap and realize the words I'm reading are glowing .
"That book was found in the room of the late first Fairy Queen Una. She was the only Astral Fairy to have existed thus far." Tristan looks at me curiously. "What does it say?" Tristan asks.
"It's speaks about a girl with golden hair and blue eyes changing the way she looks with a wave of her hand and another story was about the girl having dreams come to fruition." He looks at me in awe.
"Princess have you ever had your dreams come true?"
"I'm not sure, I mean I always have this feeling when something is off or wrong kind of like a warning signal in the brain."
"Interesting….."
I start to feel self conscious and move to get up. "I think I should get some rest, do you mind if I take the book with me ?"
"You can have it since you are the only one who can read it, good night princess."
I return to my room and continue to read the book only I can see the words to . But Tristan's question is lingering on my mind. Every time I felt like something was wrong I was spot on. I thought maybe I picked it up from being in shitty foster homes, but maybe I'm wrong. Though there was one story in this book that said the girl would leave her body to use as a way to spy. I did have that weird dream of me floating over my body when I was young. I usually have had nightmares through my entire life. But how much of it was an actual dream?
